I dont like it.I dont want them to be together for some reason. Its prob the most normal relationship for sookie but its not what sookie is about. She thinks she wants a normal life sometimes but she cant stay away from the vamps. She needs to be with Bill but that is just my opionion.

"What do you think about the couple Sookie-Sam?"Hi Christie, Thanks so much for starting this thread! I've been meaning to look for a Sam thread, or create one if needed, for awhile myself, but have gotten so bogged down reading other threads, filled with people who just want to discuss whether Sookie should be with Bill or Eric--neither, I say! I say it should be Sam! That way I could live vicariously through Sookie! LOL I know that you know by now that I am a "Sam's Girl"! ( see picture to the left!-- smiles) I have been a Sam fan since I read the books, before there was ever a True Blood show! I think it's the most natural and most permanent relationship that Sookie can hope for! She just doesn't have the emotional maturity to realize it yet! Sam is everything Sookie could want: He's loving, loyal, protective, and he wants to spend all his time with her, and keep her safe, not to mention, he's extremely handsome--total "eye candy"! Despite his being a shifter, they could still be married, have children, and as close to a "normal life" together as she could hope to get. She can read his emotions, but not always his thoughts, so it would be easy for her to relax with him, and not have to keep her guard up all the time... I will elaborate on this further in the future, but that is enough for now! I have other friends who like Sam, and I will be bringing them over to this thread! So we can all admire Sam together, and discuss their storyline! I only have one question: Are we allowed to talk about the books on this thread? It doesn't matter to me, but I thought I should ask, in case others who join us, and have not read the books, want to know if there will be book information (spoilers) allowed! "What do you think about the couple Sookie-Sam?"Hi Christie! Hope all's well with you! I am SO happy that you started this thread!! As you know, I am vamp-neutral & I LOVE Sam! He is the most consistent character throughout all of the books (I know you've only read the first one) & on TB thus far. Charlaine made a remark sometime in the summer, shortly after D&G came out that she had left little clues throughout all of the books as to whom Sookie would choose in the end. On my 5th go-round with reading the books, I began to see the pattern & if one reads carefully, it becomes loud & clear. Sam is always there for Sookie, through the good & bad. They disagree, sometimes very strongly, but feel so horrible and lost afterward that they quick to make up. They are opposites of the same coin & fit together perfectly. The best thing about their relationship is that they are best of friends. I cannot imagine spending the rest of my life with someone who isn't my best friend. I hesitate to say anymore because I don't know how you feel about us getting into discussions about anything past Book#1 or Season #1. I don't want to spoil anything for you. I love your new avatar!! Bill looks great in Henley shirts!! Can't wait to hear from you!! Do you find this valuable? |

A no-holds-barred thread!--Awesome! I promise not to gush TOO much! My personal thoughts are this: When I read the books, I fell for Sam... I kept that fact to myself for a long time, so people would take my posts seriously, so unlike the Eric fans or Bill fans who continuously gush about their chosen vamp, I did not admit my long-time love for Sam for a long time! And then, only to a group of my friends here. Here's the facts, though. I read these books, 1 through 8, before the show came on, and once I knew the show was coming, I was most concerned about the casting of Sam, understandably... But the second they first showed Sam, I jumped up and shouted "Yes!" because they GOT him, right on the money! Sam Trammell was the PERFECT choice for this role!! He is as close as anyone could get to BEING Sam Merlotte...As MsBuffy said on a different thread recently, "It's like Sam walked right off the page and onto the show"!! (that's really probably a paraphrase, because I don't have that post handy to get the quote perfect, but y'all get the gist!) --Right ON, MsB! That's all I've got for now...I must go sleep! So right:is like he walked out of the page and into the show! See you around!"Hi! I just though I'd come by and see what is up! How are you? It's rainy & hazy here... Perfect weather to stay inside and watch some True Blood or read some Sookie novels, right? Well, I was over on the Speculations thread earlier, wading through the issues they were cooking up, and found an interesting post, which I responded to... because it was about Sam, of course... It posed the idea that Sam could have a "turn" with Pam!! Yes, go ahead, laugh with me! LMAO! No way SAM would be with a VAMP! But it lead me to thinking about another issue we could discuss here -- the issues that Sam has with vampires, and why he is so opposed to Sookie's relationship with Bill. He 's never kept it a secret, and each and every time he is forced to deal with the issue, or sees Sookie and Bill together, it's like someone sent fingernails down a chalkboard, his whole body seems to tense up. So any ideas why Sam is so anti-vampire, beside the usual tension between the two races? Is it only jealousy, because Sam could not bring himself to tell or show Sookie how he felt, before Bill came into her life? When Sookie was going to Fangtasia with Bill, to try to find out about who killed Dawn and Maudette, he told her "Vampires only think about one thing: drinking... your... blood." Is that true? Bill seems to want to have a romantic relationship with Sookie & protect her. Is that only for the Queen's edict? Just thought I'd thrown some ideas out, and see if anyone wanted to tackle them! Have fun, and I'll check back later! Do you find this valuable? |

Hi!Guess what? here it's also been raining for 2 days! This is the perfect time to enjoy some True Blood episodes or read some novels! Sookie novels obviously.I guess that Sam couldn't be a vampire cause he's way to..against them.My opinion is that his anger begun with Bill, the man he sees responsable for the fact that he and Sookie aren't together.Sam is a good person and i believe that his frenzy with vampires is quite irrational and the true reason for which he hates "them" is because "he" meaning Bill is a vamp. You know,i've been thinking..mabey,among the jealousy bacause he can't have Sookie,it ia a matter of specie superiority.Sam is also other than human,he's a shapeshifter and Bill is a vampire, but this matter is arguable.Whatever,i believe that Sam's main anger with vamps is caused for the fact that Bill, his rival is a vamp and Sookie seems to prefer him instead of his faithful friend,Sam. When Sookie and Bill went towards Fangtasia in order to find some information which could solve Dawn's and Maudette's death Sam was furious on Bill for walking away with the woman he loves and that is why he said those words.Bill is different, much more different than the rest of vampires,he still has a trace of humanity inside him.Oh...no!!!no!no!! Bill wants and gets involved in a romantic relationshpi with Sookie especially after he saw that she was willing to scarifice her in order to save him, although at the begining mabey it was for the Queen's edict, but after that particular event,he not only felt compassion for Sookie but also love.....That is my opinion.....and yours? 10. RE: Sam & Sookie

I think that Bill originally starts out that first night with his plan for the Queen. After Sookie saves him, it becomes something altogether different. He becomes enchanted with this young woman who would risk her own life to save a vampire, something he's never seen or heard of. She's so not what he expected that edict or no edict, he wants to know more about her. Once Sam discovers that Bill is interested in her in a "more tha friendly way", he begins to show his own true feelings toward Sookie. He was too shy to do so before. That's too bad for him because by that time, Sookie isn't hearing him at all!! All she hears is that he's interested in her, but after she's fallen in love with a vampire - and by that time, she has fallen in love with Bill. It happens quickly for both of them. Sam is very reluctant to accept this at first, but since he loves Sookie so much, he does finally accept it as he shows when the vamps are killed in the fire. He knows that Sookie will spend the day worrying & what does he do? He takes her home & makes her start cleaning her house in order to divert her attention. He only leaves her when the sun is about to go down & with the request that she call him if she needs him. This is a man that truly loves Sookie & part of loving someone sometimes means having to let them go. He even eventually accepts Bill and is fine with him coming to the bar & they even forge a friendship of sorts, out of love for Sookie - much later on. That's love.

"Hi!I dont think Sam is "Anti-Vamp". I think he is Anti-Vamp + Sookie.. After Sookie and sam had off'd Rene, Sam carried Bill into a grave and buried him so he would not die.. We can speculate that he did it for Sookie, but if he hated Vamps so much, why would he even bother? He wouldnt.. Sam is a great all around guy. Do you find this valuable? |

And because Sam is a great guy, and so kind and caring. I think he has a very open mind.. Also, Sam struggles himself with who he is as well.. There are lots of insecurities with the characters in this show thus far. And the reason I said that maybe Pam and Sam would get together, was just for convo value lol.. I didnt know that Pam was "Bi" or gay... Until yesterday actually. But Sam will proly end up with a shifter like himself.. Sam really seems like the type of dude who, If you are nice and respectful towards Sam, he will be twice as kind towards that person or persons. Even Vampires.. And Sam is shy, he was in fact affraid to speak his mind on how he felt about Sookie, to sookies face.. Instead he asked her to read his mind, but Sookie neglected because He is her Boss, and she doesnt want to ruin the only job she did not have to quit from.

15. My Thoughts on Sam
Nov 11 2009, 1:45 PM EST
| Post edited: Nov 11 2009, 2:30 PM EST
Hi Everyone!I posted this on another thread earlier today & BloodSister asked if I would post it here as well. So here it is, my thoughts on Sam in CH's world & AB's world: Well, at least Sam gets the chance on TB to get busy - he's practically a monk in CH's world! Although he does get together with these women, I still think he'd char his ass on anything flammable for the Sook - regardless of what he may say. He did admit to one night with Dawn, of that I'm certain. He would drop any woman in a New York minute with just a "come hither" look from Sookie - that's what I mean when I say lovelorn fool. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book as rumor has it that he's supposed to have a girlfriend. Sook's not going to like that! Sam, no matter who he's with, in AB's world, will always have part of his heart reserved for Sookie & pilot light burning for her. In CH's world, most of his heart is reserved for her along with a bonfire burning inside of him - that's how she's always written him. I don't think it's going to matter in the end, whomever Sookie chooses, those things will never change for Sam. CH has written him as a man in love with his best friend, but also as someone who loves her enough to let her go. Do you find this valuable? |

This is a friendly site - no bashing here, no name calling, no wacked-out theories. Just talk about the show, the books, any TB topic you want to discuss, & of course, our favorites, Sam & Sookie! I agree with you that Sam is an all around great guy. He's not perfect & I think that makes him an even better character. I love that both CH & AB show his flaws too. I think at first with Bill that Sam is anti-vamp + Sookie, but after the Rats nearly kill her, and Sam helps Bill save her life, he begins to have a new appreciation of him. As he sees the two of them fall more deeply in love, he becomes more accustomed to the fact that he's lost Sookie to Bill, at least for the present time, and accepts it. He begins to accept Bill, not just for what he is, but for who he is. This is important because it's going to matter in the long run. I think I may be in the minority of those that believe that Bill actually does fall in love with Sookie & doesn't want to follow through with the edict. I can even picture the scene when it happened - he was watching over her house & just looking up at her window with such a wistful expression on his face.....I think from that moment on all he wanted to do was to stay in Bon Temps & live his "mainstreaming" life with Sookie - edict be damned. But sometimes undead life interferes with undead life..... Do you find this valuable? |

Sam is probably THE most openminded of all the TB characters. I don't think he's as insecure in S2 as he was in S1, but he still has room to grow. He is shy at times, especially when it comes to women, but if you've read my other post, you'll see that he's a lot busier on TB than he was in the books! Pam is what would be called omnisexual. Gay, straight, bi - none of those labels apply to her! She's a vampire! Vampires are usually omnisexual - amoral creatures that they are!!! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

This is my first time on this thread. but before i get to involved is this just about Sam & Sookie on the show or can we add book stuff as well? otherwise if no books are welcome i'll stay away. but i do want to say this on the Topic: Book Sookie & Book Sam have many qualities that lead to "love" & the show has cut that short as well IMO. i can go on & on about my understanding of this relationship but it would be a mix of book & show.. anyway carry on my fellow Sam lover's :-) Do you find this valuable? |
