"oh my goodness!
Well, as someone who has read both series, seen the Twilight movie (at the midnight showing) and watched every episode of True Blood, I believe I am fully capable of making a completely uninformed, totally frivolous and absolutely worthless statement on the subject. But at least I'll be biased. ;)

The Twilight vamps have a few things going for them that would bode well in a fight. First, they are not your traditional vampires. Their skin is cold and hard like stone (think about making love to a refrigerator) They can't be staked, shot, stabbed or even really injured in any way except by being ripped apart piece by piece and then burned. They can prance about in the sunshine if they wish, and their bites are venomous, inflicting extreme pain instantly. They never have to sleep, and don't discount the rage that comes with being a one hundred year old virgin. So in a one on one smackdown, they would be a tough fight.

True Blood vamps are the ugly vampires. They sleep in the dirt, or in coffins and crypts or in holes under stairs like pale Harry Potters. They have a hierarchy and a power structure so they have learned to be slick, and sneaky to gain or keep their position. They can't be in the sunlight, and sunlight helps make you happy, so they tend to be mean and brooding. They have fangs, real fangs that make a spooky sound when they come out, so that alone gives them an edge on the Fonzie cool scale. They have to deal with shifters, and faries and demons and maenads and all manner of supernatural creatures that would like nothing more than to kill them in nasty ways. They are survivors in a brutal world.

Sorry Cullen Clan, you might get in some good licks and go down swinging (think 'falling with style') but I believe the slick-as-snot True Blood vamps would have you dismembered or locked up under a tourist bar before you could say 'so the lion fell in love with the lamb'."
Ahahahahah! Exactly! Twilight vampire is a disgrace to the vampire lore many best-selling authors and film makers spent years to preserve.
What is a vampire without fangs??? And how are they called "creatures of the dark" if they sparkle under the sunlight??? Totally rubbish. It's blasphemy. Ugh.

Let's take a less-obvious one on one. Alice versus Pam. Since Alice can see the outcome of decisions including those of vampires, would she be able to predict Pam's moves in advance and win? 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

OMG it is like comparing a new ripe peach to one that needs to be thrown into a bag to soften up a little before you can eat it LOL--big fan for years of the sci-fi-vamp freak festivals on and off the cyber-highways we now all choose to travel.... I love both Authors but Twilight is for pre-teen--teen groups/audiences to give the teens a taste of what as they age they can take a bite out of(altho the movie I hear is pumped up some to put more $$ into someone's pocket) TRUE BLOOD is more adult-fare--but even HBO didn't use Rice's or Hamilton's-or Lumley's or...etc. etc. Vamp/sci-fi-creative minds to launch us vamp- freaks (whatever) into the public area/realm/audience !!!! Any1 with a vamp-sci-fi etc. I.Q. higher then 3 knows HBO/Alan Ball/and TRUE BLOOD trumps Twight hands down!!!!!

I have never watched Twilight. I have seen commercials and posters in the stores for the show. Nothing 'grabbed' me the way the first trailer for True Blood did. I would much rather watch the bad boy vampires of True Blood than the kiddy vampires of Twilight. Bill and Eric are manly vampires who I would not hesitate to have any kind of interlude, individually or together. My fangs are out for True Blood all the way!!! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Pam is too cunning. She would eat her alive...so to speak. Fangs will always win. How do you consider those teens as vampires without fangs? My daughter and I discuss it a lot.
I did see the movie and read the first book(all I could handle). Eric's dismemberment of the guy in the basement on the last episode says it all!

Let me tell, who ever you are, True Blood vamps. are Traditional, with a little up day, which to me is a Great Show, and Twillight is not.its a good movie, not a Serie yet. And have you looked at the old Vampires Movie over the years. If You need to rent them it will tell you all about vampires, werewolf,& supematural creatures, which go together. all away.pepper50

I am not sure anymore what we are comparing, vampires or the movie to series, but I think that, and I've seen people here say similar stuff, True Blood is more attention grabbing than Twilight. Besides all the character and description of vampires that has been discussed here already , I want to say that the acting in Twilight was mediocre and somewhat boring. There are no bright colors or much contrast, and it is a bit blah as far as excitement. Though TB just got a bit much gore this season, the actors in it are way more expressive with their body movement and facial expressions. The cinematography is great as well. Therefore, overall TB rules. Oh and I think Stephen Moyer is hot, LOL

p.s. I still want to see the new Twilight and hope it will be more exciting with better acting style to keep us glued to the screen.

treating the show/movies and the books differently, I would say True Blood/Southern Vampire Mysteries on both. Why? Because I am not in high school anymore. I think It would be different If I was. As a fully grown adult, I like the sex, politics and complexities of the characters that Charlaine Harris has created. Sorry, Twilight; I think you are a great story for high school girls, but I like the darker sides of humanity that you come to accept once you are living out of your parents house and paying your own bills 100%. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Are you trying to be funny.... I've watched how Alice fights... MY 2year old NEPHEW COULD DO BETTER THAN THAT AND HE'S HUMAN!!!! Seriously... Twilight with their anemic blood diseases cannot stand up to Eric by himself! As old as Eric is... those toddlers will mess themselves. TRUEBLOOD ALL THE WAY!!!! 2  out of 2 found this valuable. lmao! I totally agree:) Sure the cullens and their world vampires have extra powers and such going for them, but the True Blood vamps would kick their asses in a nonexistant heartbeat :D I mean, seriously, anyone who saw Eric tear apart that redneck in his "dungeon" would never bet on the Cullens in a fight! :P 2  out of 2 found this valuable. The True Blood story is so much more interesting, and grown up. Overall I like True Blood better. I like the Twightlight vamps and story, but honestly the acting in the Twilight movie was horrendous.

That said, I do believe in a vamp-off the Twilight vamps have many more advantages over the True Blood vamps. The Twighlight vamps could easily find the hidey-holes of the TB vamps during the day and easily kill them. And I think the Twilight vamps would have an easier time mixing in with people and having a normal human-like life, since they can go out during the day-time. That would make eternity easier to deal with.

Also someone mentioned the show Moonlight on an earlier post....loved that show too. I'm so sorry it was cancelled.:(

LOL..... I just couldn't resist commenting on this one.
NO matter what special feature Alice has, PAM would completely
kick her butt, and back again. I appreciate your thought....however....PAM is the ultimate!!

Why does there need to be a fight? I say True Blood and Twillight Vamps unite! True Blood Vamps are trying to live mainstream, and the Cullens could teach them other ways of doing that. Maybe Jessica could stir up a little trouble between Bella and Edward...HMMMM. Maybe Eric takes a liken to Rosalie? Think of the endless possibilities of story line intermingling! 0  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I LOVE the Twilight books. When I saw the movie it totally ruined me on Twilight. Seriously, Rob P (or Uggo as I call him)? Couldn't they have gotten someone a little better to play Edward? And that chick playing Bella? HORRENDOUS! I could shoot a better version of Twilight on my camera phone using two 2X4 pieces of wood as Edward and Bella.

Ok enough of that....

As to who would win a hypothetical fight between the two groups? True Blood hands down. The Twilight crew would go hug a bear or something. As long as it was a fair fight anyway, they could go stake the True Blood vamps in their sleep I guess.

Pam vs Alice? I wouldn't want Pam to hurt Alice but she would. Pam is the top notch bitch and one of my favorite characters!

well really TB wins hands down cuz they r real vamps in sense of the twilight vamps. not saying the twilight vamps r horrible cuz i do like the series but the movie sucked. it was a huge stinker. unlike TB it has action and love all the same. and its not all bout 1 person like in twilight it actually goes to diff things which is WAY better!!!
but if it wasnt bout movies or books and it was like real TB vamps would so win twilight vamps wouldnt stand a chance.
Bill would rip apart Edward or anyother in a snap! :) TRUE BLOOD ALL THE WAY!!! :)

Im going to comment based on the movie Twilight and TB tv show. I had read the Sookie novels but not the Twilight books. I found the movie Twilight real cheesy and lack of the excitement that a movie of it genre should have. I love to see teenagers movie's still, but this one was boring. Edward and Bella are ok together, but they are not as explosive and connected like Sookie and Bill. I didnt see the passion and that made the movie not believable. I'm sticking with my True Blood show 100%! 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?
