"Oh my. I'm lost in Bon Temps, big time. Since the semester has ended and my students are gone, decided to re-read the books. Big mistake. I've done nothing but read for the last two days. Crazyland. Watched the sun come up, still reading through the night. Am now just finishing "Doornail," and I'm looking over my shoulder right and left. Figuring Eric is going to come flying by my window any minute now. The dang TB theme song is stuck in my head. By tomorrow I'll be in a padded room!

Yes, Harris' writing is simplistic, and a lot of pages are filled with what Sookie is wearing or cleaning, but you can't beat the plots and characters, and they are just a hoot. In this second reading, I'm seeing more and more the flair Eric has, his sense of humor and sparkle... and then again, the lack of any humor in Bill. And for someone as spicey as Sookie in the books, I should think the choice would be clear cut, even given Eric's drawbacks. I believe the fact that Bill was her "first" is such a huge stumbling block for her, given her Southern roots. Once Ball gets into that trio, it is hopefully going to be a blast, and for those who haven't read the books, it will be a real eye-opener. The Bill/Eric followers may find themselves on the fence more than once. Can't wait. :)"

I totally just IMDd Ed Quinn who is playing Stan because I am horrible at the name game, seriously NEVER let me on your team for that, and now I realized he was the guy that got killed off the SciFi channel series Eureka! He is a totally hotty! I mean he is not what I pictured Stan to look like AT ALL but I always enjoy some yummy eye candy. Should be interesting to see how that plays out."

Ok back to the subject lol, I love this thread because we can talk about whatever in regards to both the show and the books.

"I almost forgot to add one more item to my list for Episode 2!

8) The use of glamor: This episode was really the first time we got to see it in action. In season 2 Eric tried it on Sookie but it didn't work and there was that creppy Terry vamp that took the guy into the bathroom but those little scenes took approx. 3 seconds. When Bill uses it on Jessica's family, mainly her little sister, we get to see it in action. I was SO happy Ball went without the cliche twilight zone music in the background, or making Bill's voice sound deeper, or making his eyes glow or turn black. I liked the subtle nature in which is was done. Bill just kind of focused on the little girl so we, the viewers, knew what he was doing without all the drama. Well played Mr. Ball, well played."
