He undoubtedly loves her - I just hope that he can make her top priority and he doesn't get tempted elsewhere. He's hot! I want him to be my viking vamp lover. Do you find this valuable?

Love reading this list. Thanks.

Number one reason I can think of why Eric and Sookie should be together . . . so this fan gets to read more smokin hot scenes written by CH. And other fanfic authors.

Eric and Sookie smolder and ignite.

"The most annoying thing about reading the books, the series and subsequent fanfic stories is how insanely immature Sookie can be. What I keep forgetting is that she's quite young, hasn't had many experieces and is involved with beings that are hundreds of years old. Eric out of all the Supes she's met seems to be very indulgent and patient with her unlike Bill who just seems mostly annoyed and exasperated around her. Bill lived in a time when women didn't have much independence and Sookie is nothing if not independent. It's funny that Eric's approach is suprisingly more modern than Bill's! I think he "gets" Sookie's tendency to be fiercely independent because, as CH said in thebooks, he himself tends to buck the rules. He's not the average vampire and Sookie certainly isn't your average human. It's good match and I hope it works out. "
Agree about Eric being indulgent and patient with Sookie.

Eric accepts Sookie. As she is and where she is. He seems to possess acceptance of people/supes feelings and motivations.

Not that Eric accepts any and all BEHAVIOR. Nada. But he does seem to patiently endure and wait for Sookie, He protects her, not just physically, but from coming to knowledge too soon. Tries to let her get there in her own time.

Afterall, Eric could be making her heel. Instead, he wants her to come to him on her own.

Lets not forget Eric tricked her in to marriage, and then gave her his blood when she was unconcious then while she lay on the bed next to sookie who was just unconcious a little while before and Eric is not even given her a chance to relax a few and he had sex with her...y Do you find this valuable?

Hey rclaurel, Thanks for talking :-)))

Gotta admit, both Eric and Bill are vamps.

Politics, angles. schemes. Just part of the good stuff we learn about the whole supe world.

No doubt Eric first looked at Sookie with appreciation of the multiple potentials benefits she held. Like Bill. Unlike Bill, Eric has been more upfront about his intentions (be they considered honorable or dishonorable).

Best of all, Eric has a sense of humor.

completely agree with you, honorable or dishonorable his intentions, Eric has always been honest with her, and sookie has accepted it, he never lied to her, and now I have not the slightest doubt that he loves her deeply, after reading the book 9, for the person who does not want to see this is simply because it is blind! I love it like eric has fallen from his "throne" and risked so much for love ... This is proof that true love can change a person's life in every way ...by the way...When I saw the video "a taste of blood" I traveled a chill in the back and thought ...what the hell is this!!!!!….since when eric treated sookie that way… I really hope allan ball do not intend to turn eric into the villain of the series, in this clip the truth seems to want to put eric as the bad guy … that makes me feel quite sad … well i have to wait and see what happens … =(

Hey MIRMIDONNA,

Yeah that video promises more violence from our vamps. But Eric and Bill took out a few weres and more in the books.

Wasn't there a book scene that had Eric hissing at Sookie about not taking being threatened well?

Because Eric gives her things that she needs without ever asking for them.

Bill gave everything to the Bellefleurs and would only give her free clothes at his store. Which she refused anyway. but Eric had her driveway repaved, bought her a new jacket and a new cell phone and had her car fixed.

eric tricked her into marriage, yes that was wrong. he should ahve told her. but you really thing that she would have gone thru with it? even if it was for her protection? eric wants sookie to be protected. and even tho she is independent, she has to have someone. she may think she likes being alone because of not being able to everyones minds, but everytime she is alone in the book, she is always thinking of eric, or doing something stupid, like going to see arlene.

she was unconcious, and that scared eric. he gave her blood because he was scared for her. it wasn't alot, just enough to get her awake.

and sookie has said before, she LOVES eric's relaxing methods, aka sex. it wears her out so she can sleep better. if you haven't noticed, every night they've had sex, she always feels better. whether that be the blood bond, or him just being amazing in bed, or both. it relaxs her.

Yes he tricked Sookie into marriage, but the reason she feels secure and relaxed around him is the blood bond they share, but even without it i think Eric could have won her over from bill at some point "without trickery". And the last line of the 9th book leaves you hangin whether her Great grandfather was referring to Eric or Bill---Gotta love these books. Do you find this valuable?

Did Sookie have Eric's blood BEFORE asking him to the orgy? She trusted him then. It was part of a significant exchange between them which Eric took seriously.

Part of Eric's charm for me is that he is an opportunist. Yummy hunky male constantly reminding Sookie she is desirable.

I read all the books :-)))

In fact, I consumed them one right after the other in a single week. Only had to wait 2 weeks for DAG to be released. So the story really flowed for me and the characters retained their identities.

There was a lot to the relationship between Sookie and Eric. I hope it is developed in TrueBlood.

I HAVE READ ALL THE BOOK'S,But when i fisrt saw that tall handsome man I just felt Sookie should be with him. Then I bought all the books to find out who Eric really was! And that locked my vote fro the viking!!

Eric is Sookie's Rhett Butler. And I think she will realize, as he did about her thanks to the curse in 4'th book, that he is her "heart’s desire without ever realizing it".
The relationship that she has with Eric is far more interesting and complex that with any other character. More possibilities to develop the story further.

And who, might I ask, would not enjoy being worn out by a gorgeous Viking who's had a 1000 years to practice? Sigh. Drool. Sign me up!!!

Eric and Sookie have had more blood exchanges than Sookie had with Bill. He may have manipulated one of those exchanges, but we all know deep down Sookie enjoyed it. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
