"You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't think that is true at all. Eric is written as not being ambitious at all outside of being the Sheriff of Area 5. He has no designs on becoming King. He is happy in his own little corner of Louisiana. As for Sookie, he is the only one who ever stood by her side no matter what happened to her. Bill, Alcide, Quinn...they all left her. Eric is always up front about his feelings and intentions with her. Bill lied to her, left her, and tried to make it all better with a pension? I don't think so. Sookie is a product of her upbringing due to her "disability" and emotionally stunted, petulant, impulsive, and although she wants to be loved, she needs someone who really can show her love and encourage her to grow and accept her ability. He has done things for her that is so out of his character (with what we know of his past) , he has been there for her in almost every situation. As for Bill when did he love her? Before or after taking her virginity? Also if he loved her? When was he going to be honest with her on there one year aniversery. Because they both bring out the best in eachother. Sookie makes Eric try harder to be the best version of himself. She allows him to see the good in humans, and she has even allowed him to see into her and realize his own feelings for her. I beleive she is his acquilles heal infact. And Eric brings out the good in Sookie by embracing her special telepathic abilities, and protecting her from harm. Exposing her to other races and supernatural beings in an ambassador like capacity, despite his own prejudices, Sookie has really met alot of people and supes because of Eric, which I think makes her stronger. Eric doesnt abuse his power, he treats her as his equal. And he genuinely accepts her for who she is, fickle yet a decent, simple, wholesome, and goodhearted human being who wants to be loved. Their relationship has transcended far beyond just sex and lust to something real now. And I really really really hope we get to see it play out on the show and in book 9.

It kindof reminds me of the Bodyguard, lol. Bill is Sookies bodyguard. He will do anything for her, he loves her, but while hes out chasing the bad guys or whatever, Sookie wants someone who will stay there and be by her side. Maybe she doesnt want the hero? Just a thought. Maybe she just wants a man who will be there. I think the whole who will die for Sookie was brought up by Bill to badger Eric into saying he wouldnt. Not to say, Eric might not, I dont think he's there yet though. To completely surrender himself for Sookie. But he can get there. Anyway, trying not to ramble, but Eric has saved her life on countless occassions and he's also been there for Sookie when she needed him most. So thats definately not a bad thing.

I don't think it is a grand gesture to die for someone, after you swear to protect that person. how will you be there to do so, if you're dead? More important is to be wise enough and shrewd enough to fool death, to fing the way to keep the one you love protected and keep your own life, so that you can continue to do so. The hardest thing to do is to find the win-win solution, even when it doesn't look like it would be one. Eric does so. He doesn't need to say those silly words, he shows it in deeds.

ACtually i think Eric would die for sookie, even though he didn't answer when Bill stated that. It just like Superman; sookie is eric's kryptanite, there for why would he let his enemies know this. Eric has done so much more for sookie then bill. Bill lied and cheated on her. Eric has saved her, count less times and helped pay for so many things, bill just says "If u need anything call me" Seriously come on! Eric doesn't ask he just gives sookie these things. Eric it seems truely loves sookie and would do anything for her yet bill leaves her when he is needed most. Eric and sookie are just ment to be i mean come on the shower scene! WOW. I like the fact that LA has passed the law saying that Vampires and humans can marry. So now eric and sookie can get married and then maybe some scientest could ome up with a way for vampires to have kids, then we could have little sookie and erics!!!!
