Well, like I've said previously, I love TB, but I love Twilight even more. It's a sweet love story, albeit with less violence, blood, fangs and sex. Something about the innocent, unconditional love that gets to me. Along with Rob Pattinson, of course! Do you find this valuable?

The new trailer featuring Jacob is awesome. I didn't think he'd be able to pull it off because of the werewolf transformation, but I think it is going to be OK! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Yay! More TwiFans! Hi all! I'm hooked on the fandom, read all the books at least three times :D I don't like it as much as SVM, but it's still a wonderful escape! Jacob looked phenomenal in the trailer, that kids has worked so hard, put on 30 pounds of muscle for New Moon. Loved the way his clothes ripped apart when he transformed, was a much better effect than I anticipated. Every woman in my office is addicted, we all went to the midnight premiere of the movie (a bunch of mid-age gals in Twilight shirts, surrounded by teens, it was too much fun!) I spend time lurking over at Twilightmoms, nice to know there is another place to swoon :) 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Yeah, I'm at TwilightMoms too, plus a couple of other sites, mostly for Rob, not Twilight. I thought the Twilight books were actually better written than SVM but I love both series. Just read Dead and Gone. Welcome.

I am so hoping you're right! The movie did not do the book justice. What was with Jasper looking constipated all the time? They took an interesting character and made him look silly.

Love RPatts in the role of Edward... hate Kristen Stewart as Bella -- she lends NO warmth or depth to an otherwise caring, sweet, and lovable character.

That's just my 2 cents... otherwise, very much looking forward to the start of season 2 of TB.

I completely agree with you. But literature to film never translates well. I saw Twilight before I read the books, I just loved it anyway. I'm excited about New Moon. Rob is the best Edward they could have gotten. Kristin sucks. My 2 cents.......And TB, yes, Season 2.

I didn't jump on this train at first, didn't have any real interest in it. It just seemed at first like only teenage girls were making such a fuss about it, that it was probably going to be all bubblegum & offer little for maybe a more mature audience. So I waited and rented it on dvd when it came out & I Loved It. So after, now I have read books 1 & 2 so far. True they aren't nearly as gritty as TB or others, but for me they don't have to be. I loved the movie & like the books alot. My favorite scene in the movie was definitely the baseball scene- that was awesome!!! Can't wait for New Moon to release- it's going to be good! Yes! That was one of the scenes in the movie that I thought was better than in the books. It was amazing. I'm hoping to have some more 'WOW' moments in the next movie. New Moon was my favorite book in the series.
And I have to agree with you DW - I am extremely unimpressed and disappointed with Kristen as Bella. It's a real shame. She has the looks to pull it off, but it's like she has zero passion for the role.

YES, exactly -- zero passion for the role... I honestly don't think she GETS who Bella is. It's very frustrating.

There is so much in the 1st movie that they could improve upon that "New Moon" could only get better. Based on the trailer, it seems promising.

The books are definitely worth reading. I encourage you to read all 4 before New Moon comes out so you can appreciate the direction the story is headed. They are a fast, easy read -- it took me 2 weeks to read them all and, according to some die-hard Twilighters, I took too long.

As another poster pointed out earlier, there is always something lost when a book is made into a movie. I would agree though -- this particular movie did not do the book justice. Hopefully, New Moon will be a few steps up.

At the MTV awards, Twilight won 5 out of the 6 awards they were up for. They won best movie. Listen, the movie was really good, just can't be compared to the books. From what I've read, New Moon looks like it's going to be great, but it is going to be a little different than the books. For one thing, the fact that Edward is missing through 1/2 the book is not going to happen. They can't afford to leave Rob out of 1/2 the movie. So he'll be seen rather than just heard.
As far as Kristin's performance, it's possible it was more the director's fault rather than the actor's but since the next two movies each have different directors, I guess that remains to be seen. Glad to see this forum hopping!!!

I think those were possibly my two favorite books also. Rob is so hot. It's so hard not to be crazy about him! I'm Team Edward first, then Team Bill. But we can all still get along. lol

Oh please don't get started on Rob's hotness! I forgot to mention the eyebrows! "lol" Well I'm Team Eric, then Team Edward, then Team Bill "lol"

Of course we can still get along! Hey I was team Bill, before Eric and Edward. Then I REALLY took notice of Eric in TB and when I read the TB books....forget it, it was all over......I was Eric's! "lol" Plus I LOVE ALEXANDER SKARSGARD. I read the Twilight series after SS series, but love them too and of course fell in love w/Edward. Didn't like Rob for the role until I actually watched the movie and then omg!!! I liked it that Rob made Edward seem darker than the books. Love his intensity and conflict. Yummy! Edward would be great playing a dark, intense, passionate and conflicted character. He was just made for that. I would die to see him in something like that. Maybe, he needs to age a little first. "lol"

May I suggest the character of "Heathciff" in Wuthering Heights?? He would be perfect, though Ralph Fiennes portrayal has had an impact on me since I watch it, but Rob.....oh man.
