I liked the books, not love but like.... it actually got me back into reading which I hadn't done in a while and since reading the series I have gone on to read other really good books that I think blow Twilight out of the water like all of CH series, Mortal Instruments (really really good) and some others. I think the last book in the series was not good I think she was too wrapped up in the movie that she forgot how to focus, it went on and on and I felt like I had ADD jumping from one part to another in a second and then had such a perfect cheesey ending and that was it nothing gone so many bad things happened and then ended so good. WEIRD to say the least. As far as the movie, it was okay, my 13 year old loved it. The acting SUCKED!!!! Alice was great though! I think if they actually read the book before the script they might have done better. I agree with the make up, it could have been placed better. I hope for these next movies are done better, I will watch it, but I am not holding much hope because last time I read the characters still have not read the books and I think New Moon is very emotional and Bella's person has to read the book to get it right!!! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Well, I hear the books are good. I started the first one and just didn't get into it. Books tend to be better than the movies...SOMETIMES. Not always the case. The movie I did not like. I laughed the whole way through it. They made it so over-dramatic. I guess they were aiming it at the young ones, but still, it was a little too much. The acting was pretty bad, and I just don't like the story. The idea that vampires would sparkle in the sunlight is just plain ridiculous, but everyone has their own creative way of thinking. I will probably go see the others, though. A good source of comedy :) Do you find this valuable? |

Well, it takes differences to make the world go around. I loved the books. LOVED them. Thought they were better written than CH's, but loved CH's too. The movie was good, the acting for the most part was good. Didn't care for Kristin Stewart's rendition of Bella, thought she showed no emotion at all. But Rob (Edward), Charlie, Jacob and even Mike were really good. You live and learn. Movie was low budget, but the next three won't be. so they'll do better. My least favorites of the books was probably Eclipse, it was just too wishy-washy, but I liked Breaking Dawn.

Thought the movie could have been better as far as Stewart's acting but she seemed to improve as the movie progressed. Was this her fault or the directors? As doreenwings stated, the next three films will blow the first one of the water. Thoroughly enjoyed the books and no, I am not a teenager!

And after seeing the movie I ran out and bought all the books. I still don't know about Stewart's acting ability. I guess it could have been the director. I heard Catherine Hardwick say she loved the way Kristin reacted to the waitress in the restaurant. Huh? She grunted, that wasn't a reaction. lol Do you find this valuable? |

Personally, i amd a twilight book fan. i love the series. i truly do. im 21 and its just a series that i have really gotten into over the last several years. i waited and waited for the first movie to come out... and in truth i like the movie, but was severly dissappointed with the direction they went with it. there were many things in the book that were not portrayed right or not put in at all. I like stewart as bella in physical form, but one thing that gripes me badly is when she speaks to edward (particularly early on in the movie) she bites her lip, shakes her head and stumbles over her words too many times to count. in the book, yes she gets nervous but its not so much that it interrrupts the flow of the story. in the movie, it seriously does. i dont think that its bad acting, bc ive seen stewart in other pictures. i think that maybe someone directed her to be like that. and if thats how they percieved bella, then fine... i just didnt agree with it...

Have you heard anything about New Moon, the movie? I hear it's going to be very different than the book. It's difficult to translate from book to film sometimes. Maybe I need to rethink my opinion of Kristin's performance, but I'll wait to see her in the other movies, they all have different directors.

All the movies will be shot differently. I know with New Moon, because Edward really didn't appear in the beginning of the book, they are shooting it instead of a voice Bella's head, more as an apparition of Edward that she sees. Of course, they can't keep Pattinson out of that much of the movie, the fans would go ballistic! I've heard the director is going to stick to the book as much as possible. I thought the first one was good. The second one sounds like it might be better. And of course now they've decided to definitely do Breaking Dawn too. Do you find this valuable? |

I'm not sure either but am in hopes that that will change in the next film. As for the reaction to the waitress, if Catherine Hardwick loved it, I guess we could all have played Bella Swan? Grunts are incredibly easy. Do you find this valuable? |

The series will definately be good. but im also an optimist :P Do you find this valuable? |

But I think they were more into showing the hallucinations to keep Rob in the picture. His notariety at this point is the big draw for the movies and to just have a voice, I think the fans would have been unhappy. Sometimes marketing is more important than content. background: have read the twilighht series twice, watched the movie about 11, own the dvd, and a robert pattinson's fanloves: emmitt! he was perfect for the part. alice! also perfect. esme is also great. but most of all *rob pattinson as edward! dislikes: kristen as bella, i believe she is not the right actress and also that she has no understanding of the character she's playing. i also dislike jasper's stiffness and i believe the actress that plays rosalie shuld have been prettier. hated: the selected seens and the omision of important moments of the story like bella's visit to the nurse's office or bella and edward at the meadow or how easily edward was able to get over the fear of touching bella. but the thing i hated the most was the director's interpretation of the moment when edward has to suck the venum from bella's wrist, he's supposed to love her so so much that stoping was no issue at all but instead he's shown as a selfish, confuse and conflicted man and THAT i cannot tolerate. i do believe it took a great effort to do twilight the movie and i admire the work, i just think it could have been better. i still love the story, will continue to watch the movie and probably re-read the series and get butterflies in my stomach :) every time thats my opinion i hope it may be useful to some 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Ok, that's cool. Love the input. I've seen the movie 12 times (I know, I know!lol) Read the books once after seeing the movie. I agree with most of the character analysis. I liked Jasper, but agree about Bella and Rosalie. I liked Carlisle too. Edward was my favorite and I'm totally over the moon over Rob. Big Rob fan, even more than Twilight. Anyway, from what I understand the movie was low-budget and it seems most people do not agree with the director's (Catherine Hardwick) interpretation. We'll see how well the next directors do. Now that the movie is a mega-hit, I'm sure they will be better. Again, translation from word to film is difficult, but the nurse's office would have been an amusing scene. There's also a time limit on film that doesn't exist in books. I know I will watch the movie many more times as well. :-) Do you find this valuable? |

I really liked this movie and I think the books are great. The series has some original things which are great, I know lots of people say vampires should not sparkle...but at least its original. Some books/movies out there are just a reiteration of Anne Rice or Laurell K Hamilton or the likes. I think the romance is sweet and innocent and that Edwards restraint shows how much he really cares for Bella cos he so doesn't wanna hurt her. She is only a teenager. True it doesn't have the violence or the passion in many recent vamp novels/shows/movies..but I think its great for what it is. Don't misunderstand me I like sex and violence as much as the next girl..lol! But I think its nice to see a new interpretation on the classic vamp/heroine love story. (which may appear to be obsessive but remember love in high school? And how you'd just die without that one guy/girl?) Anway just my opinion thanks for taking the time to read it.
