Dissapointed with Charlaine Harris about Bill and Sookie

Hi all first, excuse me if i wirte something wrong but i am not an english speaker. I Started to watch TB on December 8th, and actually, i have seen all the episodes and read all the books (the 8). I became so obsessed with the serie that i am starting to think that something is not right in my head, i almost stopped working and going out my home!! I think Bill is the most exciting and sweet man or vampire i have ever meet, and the relationship with Sookie in the series is the most beautiful love story i have ever watched. Sookie disappointed me sometimes, like when she kissed Sam after Bill speak at the convention... i think any woman that have meet Bill, can't think of any other man in the world! i guess that has to do with her libido after having vampire blood... when i had watched twice the show, i needed more so i read all the books, and i can't understand the direction of Sookie and Bill's relationship...it surprised me so much. i know she is the mother of the characters, but i truly wish Alan become the father of them and go on with this fantastic relationship and keep Sookie away of her constant frivolity shown in the books. They really need to be together. If i knew that he planns to stick to the original story line, i would really forget about it. And that would really make me a favour, as waiting till summer 2009 (oh my god six months left yet) is a really cruel test to pass. So, i am in love with TB of Alan, and quite disappointed with the book series, that's my point of view. 4 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

We spend a lot of time talking about the books and the series and how the two may be meshed by Alan Ball. There are many that agree with you. For myself, I am really trying hard to keep the two separate (like having 2 Bills, 2 Sookies in alternate universes). Do you find this valuable? |

(wow another wasted evening hehe)"Good object corralled you over to the Speculations thread This is what we talk about mostly and I love the books but they stand along as a funky, fun little paperback mystery series But NOW I see them as the blueprint that Alan Ball and a very talented writing team are using to create a TV series Sometimes they are the same sometimes they are different Most of us bookies are alright with that --- Sorry you don't like the books - that does usually happen over Charlaine treatment of Bill It is a series about Sookie and her growth and discovery and bill plays an important part..i love her interactions with the other men and think they are important to her maturity … I think Ball is a little more sympathetic to Bill so I expect TB will be more Bil heavy But we already know from the casting that Bill will be returning to his lover and maker this year ( lorena who will try to kill Sookie) so Bill even has other women in his life who also make him grow as a character check out the blog for tons of other stull on Bill and Lorena http://lovingtruebloodindallas.blogspot.com/ Do you find this valuable? |

I had quite the opposite reaction. Sookie and Eric belong together. Or she could wind up with someone else - that would be fine, too. I found that the books take the characters to some pretty amazing places where the show will likely not go - IMHO. I want the next book very badly.

HI againi bought and read all the books because the tv serie really hooked me, the Bill and sookie history, and specially the strenght of Bill and Stephen Moyer, i understand that the books series are about Sookie and her growth, but i have felt a lack of poetry -if thats the word- that the serie has on it, and well, the histoty that Alan gave to us, about them, it's so much stronger than the three or four sex scenes in the book, and as the book is narrated by sookie herself, i missed more deep thoughts from her than we get, sometimes she seems so superficial...but i get the point... books and tv.... two worlds apart. Do you find this valuable? |

Hoping that AB will give us some eric/sookie action. :o)i have only read the first 3 books and i have not crossed over to the sookis/eic band wagon. from what i hear and i have made it that far inthe books is that the queen sent bill but also people have to understand that he never thought of actually falling in love with somebody. so who cares of the reasons he had to go to bon temps they both found love with eachother and sookie has to grow up and accept that no man is perfect human of vampire and that everyone lies. bill was her first love and eric was only someone she fell for after she left him. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"HI againi understand and yes the draw back tot he stories is that they are told from the Sookie POV but thats giving ball lots of eeway to delelop side and back stories with Bill ( we dont know the bill maker story like we see it in the series in the books ) , tara , lafayette and jason Well Bill is going to become very sexually re- involved with his maker and 1st lover this year and in the books this has caused a now 6 book long running break up in which has had Sookie involved with 4 other men in here life and he has 2 other women i would not imagine Ball will write TB to be about them as a commiited stable couple .. Do you find this valuable? |

But oh well i start to feel stupid i guess everybody has their own expectations about this! i'll have to get a life... =)"i understand you and i think that the complaint that Bal sisnt give sook and bill enough air time this past season i MEAN we spent 2 epsiodes out of 12 on Tara mother for christ sake-- ahhahaha Yes i think there should have been more time spent on them - like the arlene babysitting minutes it doesnt have to be sex but as a couple 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I read that on line. They are gonna show Bills back history of him watching his family grow through the years. Do you find this valuable? |

well if Bill had been my first love i promise i won't leave him go away!!!! anyway this is fiction....and big lovers are meant to be together...and well probably none of us still with our first love but neither have been bitten by vampires!!

yeah you see seven hours after and i still here!!!! never been so addicted to something, never. I have had a week where i haven't work, socialize , almost no food haha ... yesterday my husband started to look at me very strange when i told him instead to watch a film i wanted re-watch all the season one of TB. i was really worried this morning, thinking that there's something wrong, really wrong with me. having found this forum is such a relief, i see i am not the only one.....

"We're not all going to love the same couple. That wouldn't be any fun. Just b/c bill was her first love doesn't mean he has to be her last. Not many people stay with their first loves anyway. I was upset that Sookie didn't purposefully look for him after bombing in All Together Dead--just stumbled on him. And bless his heart, he says, "I knew you'd find me." That got to me.
