Discussion: If you could ask Charlaine one question about the books...

"THANK YOU! I've been thinking this for ages ,but havn't been able to figure out how to write it. I get so tired of people talking like Eric is a paragon of virtue (he's not human people!) I'm not defending Bill's actions ,but from his POV he was doing the best he could in the situation. Book 3 Eric tells Sookie about Bill running to Lorena ,but leaves out the fact that Lorena is Bill's MAKER ..this would have altered Sookie's perception of the situation since by that time she understood a little about maker/child relationships. He threatens to torture her ,but mentions how much he wants to have sex with her ...Sookie reads his mind during the Longshadow incident and he's thinking how he can control her by threatening people she cares about..he lies to her and gets her to swallow his blood so he can "read" her and manipulate her better....he takes advantage of every opportunity to push and push and push to get her to have sex with him and leave Bill. This isn't the behavior of someone in love .

Eric iis not evil,he's a vampire and using every means he has to get what he wants. We have 8 books now where he could have tried to start something real with Sookie. IMO in book 9 ,Eric is still at the starting line ...calling her "my lover" repeatedly won't change that. And I agree that Eric knew for a long time why bill was in BonTemps,he waited til the best possible moment to destroy Bill and Sook's connection. The Queen never punishing Bill !! That's a terrific point!!

"I agree with Morgaine for the most part. I definitely think, series wise, that bringing Jessica back to Bill is just one way of Eric's to throw a wrench in Bill and Sookie's relationship. Bill should've told Sookie about her. I concluded that he did not. So yes, without Sookie knowing the other reasons Bill is in Bon Temps, he has already shot himself in the foot. The books vs. series is another element. Yes, book one was followed somewhat closely, there were some major changes. And yes, in Eps. 11 & 12, book two started to come into play. Eric hasn't really had any screen time. And Morgaine is right, AB has to attempt to keep two camps happy. I am for the Vampwich. I don't what I would ask Charlaine at this point. I have so many questions. I would literally have to write a list. Book nine is going to give us some Eric background, which pleases me. However, I am glad that Charlaine said that Bill will play no small part. I love em' both. And someone mentioned about the pelts...Quinn is going to be in book nine according to CH. I am not really happy about that, he drove me nuts, and it was not in a good way."

"I read that CH has recently said she doesn't know how many books she will write for the series. This is a change from her previous answer that she would write ten."

SPOILER POSSIBILITY

I think we will see a shortened version of the Quinn storyline in S2. The reason I think it is because in Episode 12, Sam said "I'll bet they even have vampire bands, vampire decorations, put Arlene's party to shame." The vampire bands part would be a possible hint connected to a spoiler I read online that they were planning to have CC Adcock and his band (from S1) join the cast as a (recurrring) vampire band.

And the vampire decorations part, well, I'm thinking that alludes to Quinn and his profession. Quinn could pop in for an episode or two in S2.

Reduction of Quinn to one or two episodes would also make it easier to negotiate with Vin Diesel to play him. Now, true, I know there are others who could play Quinn besides Vin, but since CH wrote Quinn with Vin in mind, I'd think AB would try to get him, if only as a special treat for CH. "

"Jewel why is it that so many don't like Quinn? I LOVED him when he licked her leg, then in LOVED him more when he went with her to the Queen's wedding. Now the mom and sister are serious issues.... And I do so love the Eric/Bill/Sookie triangle. But I'm just curious about Quinn. I've read so many people that didn't like him.

On another note, Eric loves power but I do believe he has feelings for Sookie. As does Bill as we all know. I don't want the triangle/vampwich to end! It's just so much damned fun!!! "

"But that's a sucky question because the whole lure of the books is to find out what happens next, and at least 50%, if not more, of the fans don't want her to end up with Bill. Myself included! :)

I, too, would like to know why Sookie got gypped in Book 8 and never got laid. I would like to know more about Eric. Who he was, where he came from.

But my one burning question is.... WHEN IS THE COCK-OFF?!! "
