Anything Vampire
Nov 24 2008, 10:44 PM EST
Okay, True Blood is over for the next 6 months. I doubt if HBO will run continuously the repeats of all 12 episodes (gosh darn it), the 8 books by Charlaine Harris I have read and now have to wait until next year for Book 9. Have read the Twilight Series twice and seen the movie. Have read the Black Dagger Brotherhood books (those are great) by JR Ward. So does anyone have an idea on how to get a vampire or werewolf fix for the next 6 months?

I dig on non fiction a lot - so for a good laugh, I suggest "The Dead Travel Fast" - its light hearted and pithy.I'm doing a book trade with a friend who reads Laura K Hamilton's series - we're swapping. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

If you want hard core vampire, try the Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K Hamilton. They are great but very adult.

Here is the link to a thread posted last week that lists scores of vamp books.http://truebloodwiki.hbo.com/thread/2100927/Reading+Material+for+the+Off+Season... A couple of my faves include Christine Warren's The Other's series and Keri Arthur's Riley Jenson Guardian Series. And I'm currently reading Kerrelyn Sparks "All I want for Christmas is a Vampire" Happy reading :) Do you find this valuable? |

I would suggest Laurell K. Hamilton. They are very adult, but OH SO GOOD! Those books should keep you busy for a while. She also has another series of books about The Fae if you find that interesting.

two great authors of paranormal romance are christine feehan ( carpathian novels) and sherrilyn Kenyon (dark hunter series) these are very funny action pack and you will invest the time to read all the series,

You could write us a story about vamps and weres. That's what I'm going to do, probably not about weres, but definitely about vamps.

It's probably stupid, cause you've most likely already read them...but Anne Rice who wrote Interview with a Vampire has lots of books worth reading!

Read Kim Harrison - Start with Dead Witch Walking. There are 6 books so if you read them slow (good luck) you might make it to season 2.

"What did you think of Twilight, Heard the movie was disappoiting.Yes, Yes, Yes, have heard and read the sage of Twilight. In fact have read them twice and have loaned out my books to others. My daughter got me started on Harry Potter and then on Twilight. As I said I have read all of the JR Ward books, have read two of Christine Warren's books, and am now starting on Night World bhy LR Smith. These are good books as well. Thanks for all the helpful hints. I have seen the Twilight Movie, in my opinion it is fantastic, they did a good job of trying to capture 400+ pages into a 2.5 hour movie. I can't wait for movie two and three to get finished and get released. Also, I have read the draft of Midnight Son which Stephanie Meyers is writing and it is about Edwards version of the first Twilight Book. I am hoping that TB will come out on DVD for Christmas. "I liked both but I went to the movie knowing that it wasn't going to be exactly like the book."I did this too but still left a little disappointed. I know it has to move fast b/c it's a movie, but I don't think they conveyed the deep connection edward and bella share well enough. IMO, if you didn't read the books, you really wouldn't understand why both were willing to die for the other. Do you find this valuable? |

If I'm correct the Underworld movie is coming out in 2009 about the Lycan (can't remember if I spelled that right or not) Vampire enemy struggle. I've seen both Underworld movies and I know the third movie explains why they become enemies. I think it's going to be a good one and that should hold you over for a moment. It's a prequal about the story of Lucian and Sonya, Victor's daughter, it looks awesome!!! I love those movies and I'm happy they are making another.
