It is a Scorpio town, and how apropos, especially during the Autumn/Halloween season!!"New Orleans rocks! I'm a Scorpio (two days before halloween) and the towm would be perfect for a meeting of TB enthusiasts......Although it is still a bit depressed after Katrina, but a wonderful town none the less and great people and wonderful food! I went there on my honeymoon and have visited a few times since then. It would be great as a meeting place - or TB convention? Maybe that's what needs to get started... and all of the main characters come there IRL as the actors... wouldn't that be delicious! I am getting warm just thinking about SM there as Bill......oh well, back to the salt mines :( just my 2 cents :) Do you find this valuable? |

I say New Orleans is a fantasmic Idea, NEXT YEAR for a TB convention. As we all know the financial situation for most of us is very tight right now, so maybe with a little over a year to plan, we could have more success & fun. Maybe we could touch base with Allan Ball and see if he and the cast could come and speak/make an apperance. How awsome would that be??? WooooHoooo!

Are you in North Texas ? Me and basoccermom are and we think we might have to have a fan meetup in the spring maybe to discuss the book? Like have coffe in a bookstore! If you are in Dallas area we are officially the "hosts" of next seasons True Blood as much of ( what we think) will happen next year in the series happens in Dallas . Book 2 in the series is called "Living Dead in Dallas " and it's quite an adventure for Bill and Sookie ( yes they both travel here in the story !) I don't know that they probably won’t do any real shooting here as it will probably just be done with exterior shots like Dealey Plaza ( mentioned in the book ) and our skyline but we are excited anyway to play such and important part in season #2 We have a little over a week before the season is over with I think we should try to get in touch with other fans in our areas and get organized ! WooooHoooo!"Oh, that would be truly awesome, especially if we could get HBO to sponsor it!! HBO would need to book a convention center and handle setting up the speakers and booths. They would need to negotiate a rate for the conventioneers at two or three hotels. We'd need them to send us out notifications of the details. It's all completely doable and New Orleans can use the business we'd bring them. Oh, we'd have so much fun together, all of us. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

I might Bum down to New Orleans for Marti Gras - I will post again if I can fix it so.But should any one else find their way there around that time - it would be fun to meet up at the new Borders they just opened in the french quarter (I think its where the Virgin mega store used to be, but not sure). And REALLY funny to find one of those Vampire bars, if I could keep my self from giggling like a Hiena..... Do you find this valuable? |

Speaking of Vampire Bars. we COULD do it in LOS ANGELES at Alex's Bar in Long Beach, where they filmed the actual 'Fangstasia' scenes in! We could even talk the bar into theme-ing it into the set again!!!

"Oh, that would be truly awesome, especially if we could get HBO to sponsor it!!Despite the shows great #s - I don't think we are sizable enough as a fan base to get the NOLA convention center - that place is HUGE. I have a friend that is a big MythBusters fan - and they did a "BusterCon" in San Fran , it was a private dinner and Q&A - and it was open to the public - you bought your ticket etc - but only advertised on the posting board. In total it was barely 50 people - but apparently was amazing. I could see ding something like THAT in NOLA next year. I wonder if any one from the show will be doing the convention scene? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
