Where is Trueblood filmed?

I live in Vicksburg, Mississippi, which is about an hour across the river from Monroe, La. I've lived here my whole life. I was wondering where they film the show. I love the show and of course the books. Vicksburg is actually mentioned in the 3rd book. I love the fact that the actors perfected their southern accents for the show too. I just hate to watch shows or movies with actors that cannot speak with a true southern accent. Many of the characters remind me of people I know. I guess that is why I love the show so much, plus Charlaine Harris is from Mississippi. Merlotte'ss reminds me of a bar that I used to hang out at in high school. Yeah I know, I said high school, but the drinking age in Louisiana at that time was 18. IT WAS AWESOME! I also really like to look and Bill and Eric! I hope the show continues for a 3rd season.

during comicon, Alan Ball said most of the filming was done in Los Angeles but some was done in Shrieveport, Louisiana. I can message anyone who wants a scene was filmed there specifically.

im not surewhere its filmed i live here in monroe going to shreveport i family there we are going looking for fangtasia filmed , i think i might know where it filmed i think downtown , biker bar been there i time before anyway ill take some picture s

"I thought it was mostly filmed on Gene Autry's ranch where they filmed DEADWOOD?"I saw the comicon interview... and someone else on here I think (possibly another board... the blue whale pub maybe?) that he lives in the town in Cali that they film parts of it in (and many other things, he said its commonplace in that town... the name escapes me) and that some of it is actually IN Louisiana. We were joking last night about that line from Austin Powers... something like, "Isn't it amazing how London looks so similarly to Southern California...?" or something along those lines! 0 out of 1 found this valuable. "Hi I lived in Bossier City for most of my life (near Shreveport) and most of the actors have nailed the accent. I have heard some viewers complain, but I lived there, and these folks sound like my friends and family........ actually bill has nailed that accent, he sounds like my Dad 2 out of 3 found this valuable. You are exactly right about the accents being authentic. People don't realize that a Southern accent is not just a Southern accent, we have dozens of regional accents. I was born in Alabama, have lived all over the country, and I can usually tell what state or even what part of a state someone is from. The actors in Trueblood are all just perfect, even down to their speech patterns for their different social and ethnic groups. That's one of the first things that impressed me. If anyone thinks the "Southernisms" are overdone... well, they just haven't lived here.

i live in monroe i heard the police say they were from bernard parish there is no bernard parish close to monroe there is st. bernard parish but its by new orleans ,i have family from all over la north ,south and in middle everyone has different accent lol love the show , jason has true redneck boys down pat lol any way ,they have people here in monroe with the last name trueblood love yall true southern girl

I grew up in Yazoo City, Mississippi (about 40 miles northeast of Vicksburg). I too have been impressed with the accents. 99% of the Southern accents on TV / Big Screen are cheap imitations of the Foghorn Leghorn accent (which only exists for a few politicians from the South, but no one else really). Accents of note: Bill's accent has the old Southern accent that was spoken in his time (1800's). This is the accent that began in the Southern colonies in the 1700's. You can hear something very similar: Jerry Falwell reciting the Lord's Prayer..."Our Faaah - thah, who ot in heaven". This old Southern accent (proper Southern accent) is the American accent which most closely resembles an English accent. The Cajun dude's accent is well done. My mother grew up in Derridder, Louisiana (btw, they even say Louisiana correctly....Looooo - zi - anna). The cajun accent is dead on. Tara's accent, however, seems a little forced. She sounds like she has a little too much country western singer accent. It doesn't detract from her performance, though. 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

lol i know a few girls talks like tara im from monroe,wasmarried to cajun my kids live south of laffayette im in monroe , when im on the phone talking them dat accent comes back i say louuu zzzzanna

I'm from N LA in Shreveport. I have lived here since 1970. The show was filmed here in the Shreveport and surrounding areas. In the opening credits the "Lucky Liquor Store" is just outside downtown, the place is still open and does a hella lotta business. The tore up Victorian Mansion is the Ogilvie-Wieiner house downtown. Back in the day(late '70's and early '80's) it hosted luncheons for old ladies and at night it was a gay bar (The Florentine Club). It has since fallen into disrepair. It is listed as an Historic Monument, but there has been no money to restore it. The Fangtasia as far as I can tell was filmed at Central Station the gay dance bar in town. It is an old converted train station that has 2 floors of dancing.
