OMG! I TOTALLY love Lafayette Reynolds!!

This is totally not the character I had in mind when I read Charlaine Harris's first Southern Vampire novel series! I pictured him as fat and gross. I love Lafayette and his delicious attitude! My favorite character so far . . . what do you think?

The tv character is much better than expected."really? for some reason, i picture him as white and fat and gross, with a sig always hanging out of his mouth....i read the first book quickly though so maybe i totally missed something? i love the chemistry between him and Tara - like brother and sister! I watched episode 1 again and it's really sad knowing Lafayette and Gran (i just love her on the show) are not going to stick around, they really are great characters. Since they are changing up the storyline from the books anyways, can't they turn them into vamps instead of killing them? I'm not sure they will be vamps, but I have seen hints that Lafayette may be around longer than in the books. That would be a good thing IMHO. Ball is sticking close to the book for the first season, but has said he may change storylines some in future seasons (roughly one book per season).

I love what they've done with Lafayette. He was so minor in the books that when he died, it was hard for me to feel the initial impact of it until Sookie talked about it more. Ball seems to have taken the best part of Lafayette in the books (his fearlessness and flamboyance) and magnified it tenfold, virtually creating a whole new character. I admire Lafayette. It's not easy being yourself in world that screams for conformity. I can't wait to see how his story line evolves.M 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

I'm sorry to hear that in the books Lafayette dies and I think it'd be a good idea for the writers to keep him around longer 'cause I love his character. He is incredibly funny, I can always get a good laugh whenever he's in the scene. Like on the first episode and he was talking about the power of the p*ssy. lol
