Bubba!... (Spoiler alert!)
I did not see a thread yet about Bubba yet. That will have to be a very shrewd casting job (smile)! ... I mean, I know there are probably lots of people who look like "him". I was just re-reading his first appearance in the story, and I have to say that they cannot cut his character out, because several future events happen that he's involved in. Plus, he's just an "unusual" character with an interesting backstory that would add some more humor to the show... The books had a lot more humor than the show has shown so far. More light humor please!! Anyone agree?

Episode 3 WTF???? (spoiler alert)
"She changes as you read the book, besides Eric is the only vamp she has ever "read". There has to be some connection there. She's not scared of him, and in Dead to the World she admits she enjoys or misses his "quirkiness" or something like that. However, to each his own :)" SPOILER " " "
We don't have any of that to work from in the series yet, though, all we have is the inherent threat. I take it Sookie can hear Eric's thoughts? That's an interesting wrinkle.

Fantasy Casting: Possible SPOILER ALERT !!
So far I'm about halfway through "All Together Dead" and I already have my fantasy cast picked out for future seasons/episodes:
Alcide Herveaux: Rudy Reyes Quinn: Dominic Purcell or Vin Diesel Russell Edgington: Robert Downey, Jr. Queen Sophie-Anne: Sophie Marceau
Oh, and I'm really hoping they have a few cameos here and there. You know, so famous old vamps can pop into a scene once in a while:
Gary Oldman Frank Langella Rudolph Martin Gerard Butler
How about you guys? Any ideas?

From Dead to Worse (SPOILER ALERT)
"I'm glad you guys brought this up because I was thinking on it heavily today. I kind of thought that at some point, Harris is going to HAVE to make her a vampire, because she's 3/4 one now (they keep saying that now that she's had Eric's blood 3x he could "turn" her in a hot second) and because she's only going to get old and die while all her true loves continue on eternally. But I was really conflicted about this, because everyone seems to change after they turn. That would be disastrous for everyone around and including Sookie. Even now that she's a bit on the nympho side LOL she's still got this innocent quality to her that makes her who she is.
I figure with "some" fairy blood she ought to live longer than most humans... but if they can somehow work it that she lives 500 years because of her fairy lineage, or maybe she ascends into something better like Claudine is trying to... that would be much more satisfying a conclusion.
But honestly, I will eat up anything Harris puts out... even if its 10 or 20 more books! I don't want her to stop!" I think I read on the official Charlaine Harris web page that Sookie will never be turned. Plus, it is also mentioned in the spoilers that in the next book Sookie and Eric will talk about the memories he remembered, also they will discuss his past, and I am hoping that this is what leads to the hot sex scene that is to be in the book.

Question for the Readers (Spoiler Alert!)
Okay I've just finished "From Dead to Worse." And I'm already having withdrawals. I'm going to start over from Book 1... I'm sure there are things I missed in my rabid reading frenzy!
My question is this... When did Hadley die? When did the Queen come to visit? Was this covered in one of the Sookie short stories that was in another book collection? If so, which one? I have "BITE" but I don't have the others. I'll probably read "BITE" tonight.
Thanks to Charlaine's tendency to be a smidgen redundant (probably not her fault, probably the publisher trying to make sure that if you accidentally pick up book 5 instead of 1 that you don't miss out on much, and they can maximize profits, but still.... ) I gathered what must have happened, but I would like to find that story and read it.

Spoiler-Free: Episode 11
"Excuse me?
The Mag said to Bill "I see you haven't made any Progeny" meaning/make a vampire. I suggest that the mods also check out who runs to them tattle tale-ing so often. And please understand that sometimes the person complaining may just be stirring the pot.
Having been accused myself of doing a spoiler and never having read the books...just these no spoiler threads I understand how EFd feels." Well if I find an excuse for you I'll let you know.
As to the line you have invented for the Magister, it was never spoken. The actual dialog goes:
Magister: "According to our records, you've never been a maker. Is that right?"
Bill: "Yes."
Magister: "But you know the procedure?"
Bill "Yes."
Magister: "Then Proceed."
There is nothing and has been nothing in the series thus far about either "Progeny" or "Lines." So either it's irrelevant to this series, or a spoiler. Either way if it looks like a spoiler there's no harm in getting a moderator to look at it.
And I don't know who else may have complained, but I was certainly one of them. I am serious about not being exposed to spoilers, and I will continue to write the moderators when I see or suspect them. This isn't kindergarten, the mods are the only ones who can deal with spoilers, and alerting them isn't "tattle-tailing." (Tattle-tailing? For real? What grade are we in?) It's protecting people from having their entire experience of the show ruined. There's a reason they call them "spoilers." I know I'm not alone in wishing to participate here without spoilers ruining things.
Furthermore, anyone can check me out 'til the cows come home. I'm not even sure what you might be implying here. Why don't you say what you mean? In what way is alerting mods to spoilers "stirring the pot?"
Lastly, if you are referring to my earlier query as to whether you had read the book as accusing you of - how did you put it - "doing a spoiler" - well, that's a bit dramatic, isn't it? I merely asked if you'd read it. You said you hadn't. End of story. Or so I shall hope.

SPOILER ALERT-For those who've read the books.
Do you think Sookie(in the books) overreacted to Bill's betrayal? Would you have taken it in stride or would you have reacted in the mean ways Sookie did. Talk about it*

Book question Dead to the World <Spoiler>
"So, I couldn't wait to find out what happens in the show, started reading the books, and have now blazed through all of them for now (until next May--Sniff!) Can anyone who has read Dead to the World explain why Hallow can tell Sookie is in her head when she visits the bar, but when Sookie is scouting the house before the Witch War begins and checking everyone's thoughts, Hallow doesn't know she's out there doing it?? Carla" I don't think they addressed that in the book, but as someone who has worked as a psychic I can infer that it was due to context and concentration. Hallow was on the alert when she was in Merlotte's, so she noticed Sookie's attention. Her defenses were down when she was on her own turf. She wasn't looking for a problem or she was concentrating on something else.

HBO Programming Chief dropped a SPOILER.
It's a mild spoiler, but a spoiler nonetheless. Per Michael Lombardo, HBO's programming chief, the second season of True Blood will, indeed, spend some time in Dallas and will involve the FOTS church. So that answers some of the question regarding whether or not the second season will be partially based on Book 2. This is what he says:
"This season was based on Dead Until Dark, Harris' first book in the series and the best-selling title. The next is based on the second, Living Dead in Dallas, which finds Sookie spending time in that city. Several characters "get involved in what they think is a legitimate church," Ball says. And a new creature "will create much havoc and chaos."
Production will resume in January in Los Angeles and Louisiana, and the show will return with 12 new episodes next summer, an unusually short break."

Season 2/Book 2 SPOILERS/SPECULATIONS
In a recent interview, Alan Ball mentioned that though they've stayed fairly loyal to book 1, they'll introduce some things from book 2 in the season-ending episodes for this year. Thoughts on what they'll start introducing from "Living Dead in Dallas?"
SPOILER * * * After reading the season finale's synopsis, I'm guessing someone from Fellowship of the Sun is going to show up in Bon Temps and meet Jason. But I've been wondering if they're going to spend a whole season in Dallas? Louisiana is such an important texture to the show.
Also, SPOILER FROM BOOK 2: * * * If they kill Lafayette, that will be a BIG OLE waste of an awesome actor working with some great script writing.
