TWILIGHT
I've read all the Southern Vampire Series books. I loved them. The show veries here and there but hey, they have to make it sell. The Twlight books were great as well. The way Bella took to immotality is mostly due to the fact that she has had to be the grown up in both her mother's life and her fathers. She's got the new instincts and thrist, yes, but because of her personality, she can control them better than Jasper or the rest of the Cullens thought possible for one so new.

Sookie Stackhouse novels vs show
I rented the Blockbuster DVD of the first episode. I enjoyed the characters in the show - they fit who they are playing. The only thing for most unreaders of the book will be the telepathic messages she is receiving -- when you have read the books you know that she is telepathic - but someone who has not read them the messages can be quite a bother. And I admit it was different for me to hear them but I am a scifi fan and have experienced this before in movies - so it did not bother me as much as it did my husband. I was very excited when I happened upon the ad on TV and suspected that it might be based on the Charlaine Harris books. I was elated when I confirmed it. I am also a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan but knew already that Sookie (from the books) was a different character than Buffy. I have just finished the latest novel - "From Dead to Worse" - and loved it! I don't have HBO but look forward to watching the episodes via the website.......... I have already read/heard blog interviews that this first season is based on the first book -- I look forward to the series! GOOD LUCK!

Spoiler Free Episode 8
1.) Too bad Sookie can't feel Bill as well as Bill can feel Sookie. I'm more excited about the reveal than guessing where he's at.
2.) Sam is a freak; like Terry said: Where's he been? No one cares. Oh and let me say again, "I've done that." 3.) Chewing on this one. The ones with connections to all crimescenes still don't add up. 4.) Bill has some international folksong ringtone with a hint of jazz. 5.) YES! Sookie is dumb! 6.) I have my pause button at the ready. 7.) No. She was too worried about Bill. 8.) No! He's got two mouths to feed now. 9.) Of course Tara is, but will she seek help? 10.) Another amazing soundtrack that helps build the architecture of another fabulous episode in the series that captures our hearts and minds!

HBO wants to know your BURNING QUESTIONS
To Alan Ball:
1) Will you keep the Bill/Sookie relationship as the mainstay of the series? (Oh please please...) 2) Is your Sookie going to be levelheaded and strong, unlike the books? Please do that, and also, no more repeat performances of Epi. 11 Sookie please. I also hope that your Sookie will have more self-control, and won't go 'weak in the knees' for every damned supe she comes across. We could seriously do with much less suitors for her, don't you think? A love triangle should be enough, rather than a polygon. 3) Are you too going to send Bill off to Peru (or some place like that) so you can get rid of him for a whole season like Charlaine did? Or are you going to keep Bill as the main character? Please don't sideline/eliminate Bill because that is the reason I (and a lot more people) are hooked on to TB. Stephen's portrayal of Bill works like magic. He had us glamoured from his first scene. 4) Are we going to see Lorena torturing Bill this season, and the car-trunk scene? There seems to be some morbid fascination with beautiful men getting tortured on screen. 5) Do you plan on taking off on a tangent from the books or do you plan on following all the books? Also, can we please do without the were-crap and witches (and maybe fairies)? 6) Is Jessica going to be your (modified) version of Bubba, acting as Sookie's protector?
To Stephen Moyer: I LOVE your Bill. You are just perfect. Can we hope to see more of you in season 2 as compared to in season 1? I just can't get enough of you. You might even be reading phone-book in that voice of yours (be it southern or your own english accent), and I'll watch TB just to see you. Also, Stephen, can you please tell us your birthday? Thats the least your fans should know about you, and there is no info about that online. *sheepish*

FAN(G)S WEIGH IN: What songs are you dying to hear on True Blood?
Barenaked Ladies "In the Drink" album Born On a Pirate Ship
I think it both has that edgy, folksy sound that a lot of the soundtrack songs seem to have, and the lyrics are, "I'm in the drink for love, And want to drink your love. Swimmin' a swim in the suds, I want to drink your... blood."
