Eric and Sookie NO SPOILERS HERE
"As the books are done in first person perspective - the lack of 'back story on what was happening outside of the range of our heroine's eyesight did leave AB with lots of room for development. I must say that i too enjoyed some of the peripheral character development - Sam and Tara, and Tara's mother's, (although i'm not sure it really worked for me) Jason's exploits were a bit overdone for my taste - but true to character, and Jennifer (Gag!), and of course the crafting of a 3-dimensional Lafayette!!
Leaves one wondering how well some of the peripheral characters will be fleshed out in Season 2 - as there are more peripheral characters to deal with - and where AB will take them!!! I'm just hoping he stays true to SH's character development and growth of our main characters at the same time - like Eric!!!" I agree, and I too hopes he stays true to the basic storyline in the book, and of course keeping Eric and Sookie's relationship true to the story. I'm just concerned that their relationship development will be altered by making Eric more of a bad guy than he really is.
I thought Jason's escapades were way overdone almost to pointless. Tara's story too.
I can deal with Eric's hair difference, it's tv. everything can't be the same i guess. Just goes to show Alan Ball, how "fervent" book fans can be about the characters they love.

I found the 1st time Sookie read Eric's thoughts in the 1st book on page 202, but when was the 2nd time??
I want Sookie to end up with Eric, because somehow they do have a greater connection, than her and Bill.
They share a greater connection and I think he is takes better care of her than Bill.

Reasons Eric and Sookie should be together...
Because they both bring out the best in eachother. Sookie makes Eric try harder to be the best version of himself. She allows him to see the good in humans, and she has even allowed him to see into her and realize his own feelings for her. I beleive she is his acquilles heal infact. And Eric brings out the good in Sookie by embracing her special telepathic abilities, and protecting her from harm. Exposing her to other races and supernatural beings in an ambassador like capacity, despite his own prejudices, Sookie has really met alot of people and supes because of Eric, which I think makes her stronger. Eric doesnt abuse his power, he treats her as his equal. And he genuinely accepts her for who she is, fickle yet a decent, simple, wholesome, and goodhearted human being who wants to be loved. Their relationship has transcended far beyond just sex and lust to something real now. And I really really really hope we get to see it play out on the show and in book 9.

Reasons Eric and Sookie should NOT be together...
I'm an Eric fan, but I think their relationship was based on sex. Sookie gave up to him because she was lonely and of course, the sexual attraction. She was hurted and recently ended her relationship with Bill. When Eric suspected about what happened when he had amnesia,the entire time he just wanted to know if they had sex . He didn't approached her to have a serious relationship. Maybe he was interested in her, but Eric is too much for Sookie. I loved the sex scenes between them in the book, but giving my honest and objective opinion as an Eric fan, I have to say they should not end together.

The shower scene.... I hope to see that on True Blood.... Too bad it's like 4 seasons away... Dead to the World is my favorite book of the series so far. I have my fingers crossed that book 9 will build on the Sookie/Eric relationship. I hear Quinn will make a return. I figured he would at some point. I still hope to see Sookie with Eric in the end :) I'm reading Dead to the World again... just as feverishly as the first time around.

I love Eric. His character is so much fun and interesting. I love the dynamic he has with Sookie. I think that he likes that she challenges him. After 1000 years of being able to glamor any woman that he wanted he was to work with Sookie and I think that he really likes that. He gives her things that she needs without her ever asking, but never treats her like a kept woman. I love their fights as well. They have such a fun relationship.

Eric is too contemptuous of humans to be able to love Sookie like Bill genuinely does, so no, I don't feel the chemistry... at least not yet.. :-)
" You don't see it in book 1, and you see him in lust in book 2, start to see the caring in book 3, and love and sex in book 4. Eric and Sookie's relationship has been growing slowly over time. It may take a while, but I feel that a lot of Bill/Sookie lovers will switch to Eric/Sookie over the next few seasons.
