  • EZ posting - Newbies jump inside Hi,

And welcome. This is a fast moving board. To make it easier on the new posters who are always jumping in from Lurkdom. (Lurkers, you know who you are), moderators come by regularly and clean up the boards. This is not to censor or control you. Do not be offended. This is just to make it easy for the hundreds of new posters this board receives daily.

Take a little time to get used to how to board works.

Look to the right under site pages. Read Before Posting: Discussion Forum Rules. I wish it were in red or something.

Then, look for the Location that bests suits you. There are a few ;) Bill fans on this board, jump on over to his location and join in on existing conversations.
There are sections for people who have read the books and openly wish to discuss them. There sections for viewers who wish ONLY to know what is presenting in the show. Please go to the Spoiler Free location. No spoiler of ANY kind allowed, except for what we have all seen in previews on HBO.

And, there is more. Chances are that no matter who you like or dislike, you will find a spot. Enjoy!

p.s. If you do not want to jump in on a thread with 100 posts, just look at the last few pages and you will be fine. No stress. I never read the whole thing either.

  • NO Duplicate Threads! SEARCH first, please!
"I posted a question about Nan Flannigan. Then about 30 mins later somebody posted basically the same exact question right after mine. Now mine is locked yet the other remains intact.
Also,In the past I've gotten post deleted that were searched first and were not duplicates.
    Did I miss something?Am I doing something wrong? :\
    "
It is very rarely necessary to start a new thread. Rather than starting a new thread about a character already being discussed, you'll enjoy the forum more if you join one of those discussions already taking place and share your ideas with others.

Also keep in mind that threads are being moved - a lot of people are posting to the general area and then we have to move them to the correct section of the site.

Most aspects of the show and the characters have active threads already. If you do think you need to start a thread, please read the Forum Rules first.

    http://truebloodwiki.hbo.com/page/Read+Before+Posting%3A+Discussion+Forum+Rules

There are many reasons why a thread might be deleted or locked, but if you think yours has been closed in error, you can always ask the moderator to explain why.

  • SAME topics MANY threads??? Ok, I apologize in advance if this thread seems negative as I try not to be.

But are you guys reading thru the other pages to see if there is a thread on a topic you like? I am thinking not. There are AT LEAST 4 threads on Bill, Two on Bubba, several on the books (two I know for sure are exactly the same in topic), etc. When people post a new thread about a topic already being discussed, it bumps other threads to later pages. Threads that may have useful or fun information don't get seen as much because most people refuse to go past the first page or two.

PLEASE check to see if a topic is already being discussed before posting a new thread about the same topic.
Again my apologies if this comes across as abrasive and mean. I don't mean it to be!

"so...did someone get permission to make 14 or will it be shut down again?"
No it won't. I made it at the right place. Under Bill Compton's page. The last thread RC made was under the discussion forum. Also, the last thread had some spelling mistakes(?) in the title- itchy hands RC? She was too excited.

  • TWILIGHT I am reading your reply to my mom and we are hysterical. My sister and I just finally convinced her to start reading and now she understands how wwe couldn't put them down... She said OMG should I take Zanyx before reading New Moon. You are right New Moon was very depressing but into it I found my heart breaking for Jacob. I was very sad for him but understood it all after reading Breaking Dawn. I would have to say Breaking Dawn was my favorite. To know that Bella became the strongest suited to face The Volturi out of anyone else was freakin great! I cried, I laughed, I was scared. You are right this book series is definately emotionally wrenching. I am so glad to have found all of you and I will be adding you all as my friends if that is ok. These discussions are great I love it!

  • what we do and do not know, and unfinished business, for book readers. Cryssforeric posted this on another thread but i copied it for her to know what ch says on her forum for discussion.
was reading through CH's web forum and came across. Don't know if it has already been posted, and sorry if it has, but this is the questions she answered from her 2008 Dead to Worse tour.

    1. Sookie will not become pregnant with a vampire - neither by magical nor chemical means.

    2. Sookie's readings of vampire minds is entirely random.

    3. She won't answer whether or not the blood bond with Eric will be weakened or destroyed.

    4. Eric will not be killed off.

    5. Although it is possible for Sookie to have a longer life-span with magic, it's not going to happen.

    6. Eric did start out as a minor character, and she decided to change that when she realized he was fun to write.

    7. She decided the exact character with whom Sookie would end up before she wrote LDID.

    8. Sookie exhibits "typical behavior" in wanting to work out painful things herself before sharing them with close friends, or at work.

    9. She doesn't know if Quinn's mother and sister will come back in later books - may even show up in Book 9.

    10. She hasn't decided how many books to write in the series.

    11. She hasn't decided yet at what point in the series Sookie will end up with The One.

    12. Not very much of Sookie's behavior in FDTW was the result of the blood bond. The clumsy break-up with Quinn was due to Sookie's inexperience in relationships.

    13. A sense of humor is very important.

    14. Lily might have another cameo.
i thought all of this would give a good start for a discussion.

  • Are all the Fang(s) Women? Well I have been reading these forums for a while and never said hello, I heard Howard Stern talking about the premeir for this show, watched it ondemand that night, and havent missed one since. I love the show, love the whole layered moral approach, and love learning about the way the vamps are explained in the universe. I really enjoyed the blade tv show, more then the movies believe it or not, and was really upset it wasnt renewed. So glad to have my vampire fix now every week. So add another guy to the list....

Sookie rescinded Bill's invite! Will he ever get a chance to explain?

It's looking like poor Jessica's not poor Jessica anymore, but she's got her flaws. Will she be a success? Will she leave Bill for Eric? Would Eric let her?

"hdgcat--If you highlight the address that Leia1912 posted with your mouse, you can right click and select "copy". Then you can right click and "paste" that address in your browser and it should take you to the IMDb.com page where the Book 9 spoilers can be found (you need to place your mouse over the red spoilers highlighted on that page for you to view them).

Thanks for your help,I'm terrible at figuring stuff out on the computer,I get so aggravated that I give up ,not a good trait I know.

Unfortunately,I'm a day late and a dollar short AGAIN,this week has sucked bigtime. The woman who posted the spoilers has taken them down so all I'm reading is everyone else's comments about it ,but I can't see what the spoilers were. I don't care if they may or may not be accurate,I have NEEDS d*mmit!

Did anyone copy them or post them somewhere else? Or can anyone just PM with the highlights, not the ones posted on Dallas site ,I've read those. Thanks

  • Team Bill vs. Team Eric Everyone who has posted on here saying "it's too early to choose a side" is quite correct there hasn't been enough interaction between Sookie and Eric to count for much on the series....

However, once you read all the books... except for the few.... there is no question you will side with Eric..

the lengths that this Vamp goes to to protect and love her is amazing, the guy even replaces her driveway!! now that is hot a man who can shiver you down to the bone sexually and spring for home improvements.... yeah sign me up!

Even calling out Bill in book 6 to tell her the truth about his interest in her in the first place... It may seem as tough he is doing this for his own interests but he isn't.... he knows that she is conflicted where Bill is concerned and he wants to allow her to move on.... and what moves a woman on better than betrayal?

Even during that gut wrenching hospital room scene Eric turns his back on this exchange out of respect for Sookie because he doesn't want to see her pain.... but even before he leaves after Bill breaks her heart and walks away he reaches back and pats her on the leg letting her know that he is still there for her...

This man REALLY loves her not just plying her with sex and jealousy as Bill does.

This thread is NOT a roleplaying forum for you to pretend like you haven't read the books or entered the spoiler areas and found out the answer and posted it here like you're "first."

  • Dead & Gone Book 9 of the Southern Vamp. Series
    "
Someone else mentioned in another thread that in book 8. Eric tells Sookie that "he remembers their talks by the fire" which is a direct reference to their discussion of "marriage".

    "
they actually have that discussion before they get out of the car for the witch war in book 4. But eric is definately the man! He gave her gravel for petes sake! What has bill really done for sookie at all in this series? Of course I agree Eric wants to be with her and I feel she should pick him because his affections for her while seemingly sexual at first have always been real. He's been completely honest with her with his intentions (besides making her suck the bullet out in book 2) and he's always there to fufill every unspoken need or desire she has. Plus he's smoking hot! If CH Doesn't follow through and let them end up together I might very well burn all the books. Well maybe not but i would be pretty peeved.

  • Spoiler-Free: Suspicions of Bill
"Well, one thing for sure, the last two Eppy's are in the can. Not much will be changed this year so we have to live with it...now Season 2 might just offter more Bill & Sookie.. I don't get Eric...( don't tell me). He's had all of 20 minutes air time..I don't get the importance..the Monroe Vamps had more..lol and they're dead ! But it will be interesting to see how E11 &E12 play out...AB style ! He's directing 12 so it should be sensational !

    dc"
The Monroe Vamps did get more time, but they deserved even more! Eric is a bit of an enigma right now...from the buzz on here I think his story will get very interesting.

I would never accuse YOU of a spoiler Caveman! :) Thanks for cluing me in to the "supe" lingo...I have been enlightened by quite a few things on this wiki as well...although sometimes not so pleasantly. it is really hard to avoid spoilers on here. Do you plan on reading the books? I was thinking of reading them in the off season, but i don't know if I want to yet.

I thought maybe she meant The Movie Channel as well...but I think Turner Classic Movies is a better fit for the context she was putting it in. Did you see there's a whole thread for the stereotype discussion? LOVE IT! True there are stupidly stoopid people all over the country (and the world), but I find some of the TB characters exaggerated.

AB is definitely making these characters and the story his own. I think that must be refreshing for the bookies...although probably a little maddening to be kept in suspense!

It feels like everyone on the forum is a little worn out from freaking over Ep. 11 preview. I know I, for one, just can't speculate on that 30 seconds (60 seconds, whatever) anymore. It's time to wait for Sunday and put our trust in all that is Alan Ball.

    Yuck.
