SAME topics MANY threads???
"Ok, I apologize in advance if this thread seems negative as I try not to be.
But are you guys reading thru the other pages to see if there is a thread on a topic you like? I am thinking not. There are AT LEAST 4 threads on Bill, Two on Bubba, several on the books (two I know for sure are exactly the same in topic), etc. When people post a new thread about a topic already being discussed, it bumps other threads to later pages. Threads that may have useful or fun information don't get seen as much because most people refuse to go past the first page or two.
PLEASE check to see if a topic is already being discussed before posting a new thread about the same topic. Again my apologies if this comes across as abrasive and mean. I don't mean it to be!" It's frustrating me, too. What's happening in many cases is people are signing up but instead of looking around to see what's already here, they start a new thread about something we've already been talking about. The real pain in the ass about that is that the threads they start usually have non-descript names, too, that add nothing to the conversation.
There shouldn't be even one thread on Bubba - there's no indication that he'll be in the series yet - let alone two. People who have read the books are making too many assumptions. Alan Ball is NOT following the books exactly, so we need to take these characters as they appear, if they appear.
Bill is going to continue to generate a lot of interest, but it might be a good idea if someone would lock some of the threads. I'd do it, but I don't think I have the necessary access.

Timeline of the books and short stories
Have any of you book experts put together a timeline of when the BOOKS (not the TV series) take place in relation to each other? Some of the narration on this seems a little confused. There are lots of timeframes of "one year" or "the past two years" or "the past six years" that I can't get to mesh. Can anyone help me out with this? Here's what I thought up so far:
Dead Until Dark - Summer 2004 (possibly July or August?) Living Dead In Dallas - Summer 2004 (possibly August or September?) Club Dead - Fall/Winter 2004 (it's getting cold when Sookie has to consider her outfits for the club) Dead To The World - First week of January 2005 (Sookie finds Eric on New Year's) Dead As A Doornail - ???? 2005 Definitely Dead - ???? 2005 All Together Dead - September or October 2005 (Shortly after Hurricane Katrina) From Dead To Worse - October or November 2005 Dead And Gone - ???? (I read somewhere that this takes place over a few days around Christmas)
Where do the short stories fit in? Do I have this generally right? I don't know why I'm so fixated on getting this straight in my little head!

late 51+
"Of course, if you're an exhibitionist, it's not degrading to perform sex in public. It's a huge turn-on and a power trip. Eric suspects Sookie is an exhibitionist or at least has a streak of exhibitionist tendencies. And no one would dare to think they could have a piece of the action, not after Eric took Victor's head off very publicly, and he's suspected of taking out both Quinn and de Castro. If that didn't convince them, the conversation with Bjorn ought to make clear where the boundaries are. It's probably not inappropriate for Bjorn and Vincent to remind the guards that, once it's clear there is no danger when they come investigating, to move on and stay vigilant. They don't want everyone to get distracted by the "show", and remind them to be professional- it couldn't hurt! :)" I get what you're saying and Sook has to know that the guards at least are listening. Its Eric property and he and Sook can do anything they damn well please IMO. When they're in the pool she knows no one can really see her,so it has the naughty aspect without actually displaying herself. E/S romping privately ,then Sook only being "proper" in public creates a nice dynamic for her, thats she's ONLY for Eric and no one else. It sets a solid boundry between her and all these male guards she has to deal with, not to mention hearing their thoughts. It'd be cool if Eric says something to Bjorn and Bjorn gets to go manager/employee smack down on these guys. They're putting Eric's family at risk by not paying attention to their posts.
Also, this isn't 1000AD in Scandanavia, where people were very relaxed about nudity and sex in general cuz they had to share open long buildings thru very long winters and they learned to ignore it. No matter what Eric thinks in his head, a man who displays his passed out wife's naked body deliberately to 20th century american men is creating the perception she has no value. Eric states he loves and cherishes her like a precious jewel, but that action doesn't support that. Like I said in my previous post,I think all the orgasms made Eric lose his head a little.LOL!

True Blood News - Issue #20
Coiro and Drew Powell and Billy Lush, I’d worked with on Generation Kill. They played my buddies. And the entire crew - it was just an amazing experience
