SPOILER QUESTION
As a devoted fan of the book series, I have had to stop comparing the show to the books in order to enjoy both. I love the show, but Alan Ball is obviously using the original story as a very loose guideline. The one thing that I wish AB would do, is pick up more of the humour from Charlaine Harris' writing. The books were filled with a wry, subtle humour that AB seems to have overlooked.

For Book Readers--Things You Hope Get Left Out (Spoilers!)
This isn't technically a spoiler I hope will be left out - more of a burning question for an avid reader of the series.
I'm about halfway through Definitely Dead and (Just finished dead as a doornail). But it seems like the story jumps suddenly to Hadley's death and Sookie inheiriting her possessions. The tale of Sookie finding out about Hadley, being told she's inheiriting, the inroduction of Mr. Cataliades, Waldo, etc are all told as brief recaps, like Harris does in to recap events from prior books.
Did I miss something? Am I reading out of order? I don't think so, because the sequence otherwise makes sense (i.e. the reappearance of Quinn). Could someone who's more familiar help me out with how the Hadley story plays out or where that information is?

Sam's Pack - Spoiler-Free Zone
Hello to all of my fellow Sam fans!!
I have checked, and there does not seem to be a Spoiler-Free thread for Sam! Therefore, I considered it important that I create one, since there may be many in our community who have not yet had the pleasure of reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels and short stories.
This thread is only for discussing Sam Merlotte on True Blood or Sam Trammell, the actor who plays Sam Merlotte! No Book Discussion Allowed!
You may discuss Sam's character, Sam's relationships and storylines on True Blood, including speculations on his story for future seasons. You may talk about fan-fiction that includes Sam. You may talk about Sam Trammell, the actor, and how he plays the role of Sam Merlotte, or about other roles you've seen him in.
You may NOT mention any information about Sam from the novels/short stories written by Charlaine Harris!
That being said, I'd like to invite you all to join me in front of Sam's trailer at Merlotte's, to chat about our favorite shape-shifter!
One last item: This forum is intended to be fun, and informative! There is NO bashing of fellow contributors and their viewpoints allowed!!
Now, let's have fun!

Fantasy Casting: Possible SPOILER ALERT !!
"A Kirsten Dunst cameo would be hilarious, especially if she had that crazy curly hair!! :-)) ." haha! Could you see her in Crystal? I'm gonna have to go and read one of the books to get areminder of Crystal, but she might work. Even if it was a 1 minute cameo for an extra role, i'd love it. I like her as an actress, and loved her in Interview with a vampire.
Catherine Zeta Jones pre marriage and babies would have been perfect for Claudine. Remember her in The Haunting? Now that I think about it, Rudy Reyes could also make a perfect Claude. How bout Dominic as the uncle? Can't for the life of me remember his name. Let him grow his hair a bit. I think he'd be great.
