I have always been drawn to the idea of vampires. I have always wanted to be on their side. If you are dead , death holds no fear for you. This little underlying theme helps me understand the attraction of continuing on as a creature of the night. The older that I get the more mortal I am. The chances of my further survival diminishes as days and years go by. The appeal of vampirism becomes more and more lustrous. Especially if it insures good health, fewer worries, What's not to love?
Vampire romance? Any romance draws the feminine creature from it's lair. It could be from a wookie as long as it portrays the chivalrous idea of higher love. The altruistic giving toward the lover. That kind of evidenced romance is so lacking in real life because it is so easily diminished and not often used as a legitimate tactic . If a man puts out that kind of effort and is rebuked he is twice the pu$$y for doing so. He can get everything he wants by acting the ass and preying on women that have been set in their place by a society that makes them into helpless females. So if you have been taught to give in rather than fight, submit rather than think for yourself, and endure for your own good then you make great vampire bait. If you are really good at those things , you might even seek out that kind of relationship.
Love sucks. It gives great feelings that are not reality based. The reality of love is replication. Our entire endocrine system is genetically geared to successful reproduction. Anything that ensures the continuation of the species is rewarded via good ole brain drugs. Endorphins flood your system when you are infatuated. You get a good buzz. This continuous high can only be kept up for a maximum of about nine months. Then your brain keeps the addiction but throws out some different endorphins to keep you attached. You are a love junkie. You will do anything to maintain the level of endorphins in your system, This is why women have been known to stick with mates that are abusive. It is also why women will go from one relationship to another without long term benefit because of the first set of drugs, It's all part of life's ups and downs.
Do I ever consider any of this when I go about seeking love? No, it is akin to the blood hunger of a vampire. The yearning is as deep seated and the hunger is no less real. The life that we seek is in our blood. It motivates us to desires that can only be described as dark. We want. So the preternatural is only a reflection of the unspoken. There is something about it that is keener and more accurate than our waking selves.
Is this bonafide research? Heaven's no. This is a fan site for True Blood. Can I back up any of my sumations? I don't have to, it's the internet. You can make of it what you will. I'ld enjoy hearing from you.
