Let's Talk About Eric

Eric found out from Bill's data that Charles was sired by Hotrain's maker and so Eric tries to call Sookie to warn her about Charles. While Eric is on his way to Sookie, Charles strikes out and the bar full of men stake him.. Eric runs in worried about Sookie and wants to kill Charles but he is already dead.

"Neither. The character of Eric is trying to "mainstream" and as such he may feed on willing sheep but he doesn't kill them. At 16 it is doubtful that he would risk turning you as a 16 year old in our society would have the emotional maturity of a 10 year old in Viking society."

I thought Eric was NOT mainstreaming? He was very contemptuous of Bill in ep 4 of season 1 when he mentioned Bill WAS mainstreaming. Don't "mainstreamers" refrain from feeding on humans,? but Eric certainly does not refrain. I don't think he would feed on or turn a 16 year old though because Eric is not stupid and doing so would garner a lot of unwanted attention.
