| Wink or nod: | In the season finale, when Rene punches Sookie in the graveyard, the tombstone she lands on says Sophia Gibbons Bellefleur 1897-1972. Book readers will understand the significance. | | Noticed by: | O-Negative82 | | | Wink or nod: | In Eric's office there is a book lying on its side in the bookcase entitled Cadavers. Is that the vampire equivalent of a restaurant guide? | | Noticed by: | evilgramma | |
| Wink or nod: | On True Blood Gran indicates that Sookie's grandfather had the gift of telepathy but in the book its indicated that Sookie's gift came from a different source. (I don't want to get too specific...its a spoiler. Readers will understand.)
It did come from "A grandfather"...book readers will know who...MrsComptonIII

Stephen Moyer, on the other hand, is a very expressive actor. In the show, when Bill says "Sookie must be protected" and Eric replies "that sounds like an edict, but if it were, I would know about it", Bill drops his eyes and looks very uncomfortable so Eric (and the audience) are puzzled. | | Noticed by: | evilgramma
| Wink or nod: | On the episode that Jason and Amy abduct Eddie after they have his blood they are laying outside in the sun in the trees having a picnic and you hear Eddie screaming and moaning - Shouldn't Eddie be asleep? How is he awake when the sun is up especially since he is such a young vampire? | | Noticed by: | empee722 | | | Wink or nod: | In the books, Bill tastefully renovates and redecorates his house in contemporary style with flowered wallpaper and bed linens and a huge hot tub with a cedar deck and potted plants in his new bathroom. The show opted instead for the Gothic, with dark icky mangled walls, lots of red velvet, an old Rube Goldberg style shower and clawfoot bathtub. One mistake: when Bud and Andy come to question Bill, he offers them warm Fresca (this scene was not in the book) because he has no refrigerator. However, True Blood has to be refrigerated and since Bill is "mainstreaming" he'd need a fridge to keep a supply on hand. | | Noticed by: | evilgramma | |
| Wink or nod: | In episode 8, Sookie sits on the porch in the rain wrapped in a quilt waiting to see if Bill is "alive" after the fire at Malcolm's house the night before. The quilt pattern is called "Grandmother's Flower Garden". | | Noticed by: | vstargirl | | | Wink or nod: | When they're putting up lanterns for the engagement party, Terry Bellefleur remarks that "all families are old, but some just keep better records", a wink to readers who can expect (hopefully) that certain important family records will be divulged in Season 2. I don't understand, though why Terry refers to his sister Portia, when in the book, Portia is Andy's sister and Terry is their cousin. Any ideas? | | Noticed by: | evilgramma | |
| Wink or nod: | When Sookie first meets Pam she attempts to shake her hand and Bill pulls it away and shakes his head. Bookies know the significance | | Noticed by: | Eric-Bttn | | | Wink or nod: | In episode 1, When waitressing at Merlotte's, Sookie comes to give her order to Lafayette, then Arlene comes starts a conversation about sex and people wanting to have sex with Lafayette. Arlene says, " Not everyone wants to have sex with you." Lafayette says in response, " Well you would be suprised at how many people you know." Readers of the book series will know the significance. | | Noticed by: | vegetarianxvampyr | |
| Wink or nod: | MaryAnn shows up on the road after Tara has a "prideful" argument at the party and is driving drunk. Readers know why it is that MaryAnn appears | | Noticed by: | Eric-Bttn | | | Wink or nod: | In the books it says that Pam dresses in pastels when she's not on duty. | Wink or nod: | The bald male vampire in Malcolm's nest tells Sookie she smells "sweet!". Readers know why it is that her scent is so attractive to vampires and why Bill tells her she tastes different than other people | | Noticed by: | Eric-Bttn | | | Wink or nod: | In the books, Amy Burly is just a random girl in the line of Jason's babes, but the series gave her a much bigger role. | | Noticed by: | Pam_in_pastels | |
| Wink or nod: | In the books Tara Thorton runs a clothing store. I wonder with her new self-esteem she'll start her own business? | | Noticed by: | Pam_in_pastels | | | Wink or nod: | Okay, where is Bubba? He was supposed to be Sookie's bodyguard. They totally omitted him from Season I. | | Noticed by: | Pam_in_pastels | |
| Wink or nod: | In the show Sam says that he has to have a live model in order to shift, whereas in the book he has a book of dogs earmarked with the picture of the collie. He can just shift from a picture. | | Noticed by: | Pam_in_pastels | | | Wink or nod: | In episode 11 Maryanne says that her car was a gift. She also comments on how she gets dirty. | Wink or nod: | When Jason, Lafayette, Hoyt and Rene are out working, Lafayette complains about the 'special sauce' on his sandwich (when did mayo become a special sauce). In the books, Lafayette makes his burgers with a special sauce at Merlotte's.
The burger he is eating is a Big Mac, which has a"special sauce" aka Russian Dressing. Not mayo. | | Noticed by: | Bookreader9999 | | | Wink or nod: | In the show Sookie kisses Hoyt Fortenberry for his sweet reminiscing about the dead waitress. Hoyt is portrayed more like JB Durone's character in the books; but JB is not introduced in the show although readers know why he is significant later on. | | Noticed by: | EricsErika
