Chapter 1

Sixteen Years have past since Eric and I had the twins. Leif was the spitting image of his father; the only difference was there was still a boyish look to Leif since he was just starting to become a man. Adel was gorgeous, tiny hips, she looked like me but she was taller and it drove her father nuts about how the boys thought of her. The thing that I could not figure was that we had sixteen years of peace. It was great; my kids went to normal high school and had human friends. It made dating hard, as Eric was sure to let everyone know that they were his kids and no boy wanted to come and take out the daughter of Eric Northman, king of the supes. It had gotten a lot easier for the supernatural community when they all worked together, there were still small groups of the Fellowship left, but it's hold was a lot smaller than it had ever been. Adel hated the fact that she had to have a guard at all times, while Leif did not. But she has inherited my gift and then some. Leif really took after his father; he could hear thoughts of others, but nothing like his sister. She was truly gifted, she could make you think something and make you do it. She never used it on either Eric or I but when she was just learning about the gift she used it on Leif all the time. Eric put a stop to that real quick. Leif was strong, he could weild a sword just like his father (they trained everyday) he healed even faster than a vampire never needed blood and could walk around in the sun. Eric called Leif (only to me) the perfect vampire. Leif was already quite comfortable with all the politics and was making sure he lined himself in court every time we took the kids with us. Everyone fell for Leif. There was not a girl that did not call from school, and all I can do is shake my head over the amount of attention he gets, as his father beams with Pride. We decided when the twins were born we were not going to hide them or hide what they are. We felt that if we hid them, that would bring more danger because everyone would think we were hiding what talents they truly held. Which in fact we were hiding that, but everyone knew that the king and queen were the first to have children. With the uniting of the shifter world and the vampires there were not too many that chose to challenge Eric for me. That was blessing. Tina had taken the place of Bill as my protector, even though more times than not she was keeping an eye on the kids for us. She could pass off as one of their friends so she blended right in with them. She was the one that called Eric to inform him that his son was throwing a party at the loft, while we were out one evening. I was the one that was angry at this, Leif learned his lesson (I hope) with how sick he was from all the alcohol he had consumed, but he also made a very big mistake in his drunken state; he took blood from one of the girls that was at the party. Eric covered this up and glamoured the girl so she would not remember, Eric would have to punish Leif, but if it got out that he took from a minor (even though he is a minor himself) he would have to be severely punished. I was looking out the window at my kids playing with friends down by the lake. I heard a pop sound. I turned around to see Claudine standing before me. I have not seen her since the night of the war, and my heart broke all over again. I hugged her. “What can I do for you, I have not seen you in forever.” “Well I am still you fairy godmother, I have not had a reason to visit before now.” She had a sad look in her eye and I knew she was remembering everything that happened that night too. “I must say my peace about that night.” I walked over to the living room and sat on the couch. “I know you and Eric did what you had to do to stay together, but Niall was only doing what he thought would keep you and the babies safe. He loved you more than any other. Claude and I have been lifted up to prince and princess of the fae now. Adel has our blood, so does Leif but Adel is the one that has carried the blood like you. She is coming of age now her powers will be tremendous, just be careful.” “I know that Niall was not evil, but he should have trusted that I knew what I was doing, instead of making me a pawn in a game that I did not want to play, I miss him and I miss Bill everyday. None of this would have happened if Niall would have just trusted me enough to talk to me. But all of you treated me as if I’m just a stupid human that could not deicide for herself. Eric is the only one that has always believed in me no matter what. I'm truly glad that you have come to talk to me, but now I am worried that this mean there is danger coming to us.” Claudine looked at me “There is always danger in your life you know this, but no at this time I am here as a friend. I miss our visits.” I hugged her. “The kids are coming in will you stick around and meet them” “Not with their friends here.” She kissed my cheek and then she was gone. “Mom” Leif came bounding in the back door “Wow what is that smell, it smells like………..” His eyes glazed over, he walked over to me and hugged me and smelled me. “OK.” I pushed him “Snap out of it, you truly are your father’s son.” “Mom if I ever find a woman that smells like that I will marry her on the spot.” He grabbed an apple out of the bowl on the counter. “Now son I tried that and it took me two years before I even got the time of day from her.” Eric grabbed me around the waist “But I finally broke her down.” “Mom doesn't smell that good, Dad.” Eric had grabbed a True Blood out of the fridge and put it in the microwave. “She always did to me, but what you smell is a full blooded fae, unlike you, or your mother. I do find it funny that you are having such a reaction.” He grabbed his blood out of the microwave. “Hey Mom” Adel just walked in the back. “I just said good bye to our friends since Mr. Rude over there just left.” She smacked Leif upside the back of his head as she walked by. “Hi Daddy.” She smiled up at Eric and gave him a big hug. “You smell of the lake, have you been swimming today?” He smiled down at his pride and joy. “Yep and Mom how long till dinner I want to take a shower before.” She looked over at me. “You have time I have a roast in.” “Good, Leif and I can train before he eats then.” Eric walked out of the room to change. Leif got up and went to do the same. I grabbed two bottles of True Blood and put them in the microwave, I knew we would be having company shortly. Eric and Leif walked in to the back yard with swords in hand. This was their time every night when Eric woke up, before dinner was done the two of them trained. I walked over to the door. “Welcome Pam, Tina.” I said “You know you’re getting too good at timing.” Pam winked at me. We walked back in to the kitchen, I handed them the bloods and we sat at the island counter in the kitchen. Eric and Leif strolled through the back door. Leif gave me a quick kiss on the cheek and went to shower himself. “Master your boy is growing so fast; would you like me to teach him what to do with a woman, I will more than gladly take on this task as you did for me.” Pam looked at Eric “Or we could just jump to a lesson of two women at once.” She turned and kissed Tina. They both looked at Eric “I have to go get a shower; you two will behave and keep your hands off Leif.” He walked over to me grabbed me into his arms and kissed me parting my lips and laid out for Pam and Tina. “That, ladies, is how you get a rise out of me.” Pam and Tina just laughed as I turned about ten shades redder than I was and I could feel the lust thru the bond and I sent it back to him too. Adel came back in and sat between Pam and Tina. “So what torture were you two putting on Dad before I came down?” She smiled at them. I got dinner finished and asked Adel to set the table for us. Three places with plates, the works and three with nice glasses for blood. That is how it has been since the kids were old enough to eat. Eric made sure he was home to have dinner with us every night. Even if he was out of town we would have a video conference dinner with him. That man never stopped amazing me. “Dad” Adel asked “Would it be ok if I came to Fangtasia with you and mom tonight?” She already knew that answer to this before she asked, but she hoped anyway. “No.” Eric looked up from the papers that he and Pam were looking over. “You are safe here, Fangtasia is not a place for a child. We will go to the restaurant tomorrow, you may come with us then.” He looked back to his papers. Leif got a cocky smile on his face. “My answer is No, Fangtasia is not the place for a 16 year old boy.” I said to him before he could even ask his dad. Eric looked at me “I do think it might be about time that he starts to come with me.” “I will not discuss this now Eric, but no I don’t think a 16 year old belongs in a bar.” He just looked at me Just wait till we are in the car Northman, I will give you a piece of my mind about the way you treat Leif to the way you protect Adel. Now now, Mrs. Northman I am protecting my daughter from men like me, you know how they are at the bar, and you know how she smells to my kind. I picked up the table and got everything cleaned up from dinner. “Don’t worry mom I’ll do the dishes.” Adel said from behind me “Thank you.” I gave her a kiss on the cheek and went to change. I walked up and grabbed a black slip dress, quickly changed, put on black heeled sandals and I had my bracelet, my ruby necklace and my wedding band on. I grabbed the earrings that Eric had made to match my necklace, though these rubies never looked anything like the one on my neck, it danced in the light and seem to be alive. Eric wrapped his arms around my waist. “How did I get so lucky to have found you?” I was looking at him in the mirror. “I’m still trying to figure out what witch you paid off to put this spell on me.” He was in a playful mood tonight. “Is that so Mr. Northman, well in that case I guess I will be sleeping alone tonight, and it is such a shame, too, since I’m wearing a really nice lacey bra and panty set in red and black, too bad you don’t want to see them.” I pulled from his arms grabbed my wrap and started walking toward the door, Lifted the back of my skirt to show him the panties. “Think about that tonight while you are in your meeting with me sitting next to you.” “You are a cold-hearted woman.” He said as we walked down to Pam and Tina. “Tina you will stay here with these two tonight, since they seem bent on making trouble.” Eric looked over at Leif. Who just smiled as if to say, who me. “While we are out this evening, you two will be on your best behavior and there will be no friends over.” They both saluted to Eric. “They get their disobedience from you.” He grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the door. We hopped into a red corvette. Eric got a new one every year. We headed to Fangtasia, we also owned a restaurant that could handle supernatural quests. Tonight was an informal meeting, so we decided it would be at Fangtasia. Tomorrow was dinner with a king from Europe. We would close down the restaurant then to have the small formal meeting there. Eric decided to go to the back door this evening. “We need to go to the office first.” was all he said to me as we walked in the door. We headed back to his office “Pam go keep our guests happy” he closed the door and I could feel the lust running through the bond. Eric looked like a predator about to strike his prey. “Eric we have a meeting and there is no time for this now.” I was hitting his hands away. “You tease me all night and expect me not to take what is mine.” “Yes, I expect you to be in control.” I was trying to get to the door, but Eric kept grabbing me back to him. “You are going to tear my dress.” “What is your point?” He was kissing my neck and pulling at my strap. “My point is we have a meeting and I am to be at your side, I can’t do that with a torn dress.” “But your body wants me just as bad as I want yours.” I swung myself and looked at him, “Let's be done with this meeting and we can go back to the loft and do whatever we want with each other. No kids just you and I.” He let out a sigh and grabbed my hand and led me into the bar. I could see Pam and two vamps from Nevada sitting in the booth waiting on Eric and I. As they saw us they all rose and bowed to us. Julius, we called him Jules, was a short man about 5’8” he was relatively young for a vamp with such power but he was one of Al Capone’s hit men in Chicago and loved to use those talents as a vampire. He was dark and mean and I did not trust this man for anything. He was the sheriff of Vegas and it was really profitable, so Eric was letting him be for the time being. Alexander, on the other hand, was one that made my heart skip a beat every time I saw him. It might be on account that he was the spitting image of Eric. We had found out that Alexander was a decendent of Eric’s and had been turned around 200 years ago, his hair was not as long as Eric’s but he could still pull it back into a low pony tail behind him, His eyes were blue like the ocean. He was softer than Eric. I figured this was do to with his age and the things Eric had seen in his life time. Alexander reminded me of the Eric I had in my home while he was cursed by the witch. They both kissed the back of my hand as I slid into the booth next to Eric. Pam stood to the outside of me. “Tell me of the business in Vegas, Jules.” Eric looked right at him, I felt a hand pushing up my skirt. I was trying to push off the attack, but was failing as I felt my panties being ripped from my body. Eric slipped them into his pocket. Jules talked about all the business and asked when Eric and I intended to visit. “We have your private suite waiting for you any time.” Jules nodded to me. I nodded back. “I’m getting hungry, may I please find someone who suites me?” Eric nodded and Jules left us. Alexander looked at me. Eric’s hands were still on full assault mode. He was rubbing my nub. “Please tell us about the dealings in Lake Tahoe, Alexander.” He and Eric chatted about all the things that were happening and of the new vampire casino resort they were opening with a night time ski slope. “So do you ski much, Alexander?” Eric asked “Yes, but I have really gotten in to snowboarding.” “You and the Queen will have to come out for lessons.” Eric slipped his fingers in me; I threw my head against the booth, I was trying to wiggle out of his grip but I could not. “The Queen is not much of a snow bunny.” Eric chuckled “I’m sure if we were to get her lessons we could change her mind, I would love the honor of having your family come and visit Lake Tahoe.” He was looking right at me “YES!” I screamed I tried to collect myself “Yes, I would very much love to see Lake Tahoe. Now, please excuse me I need to get a drink.” I hit Eric’s leg. “We have servers for that my dear.” Eric said with full sex in his voice. “I need to stretch my legs.” I stood up before he could grab me. “Pam, come with me” She was at my side. “What are you thinking Sookie you have the look in your eye.” We stood at the bar. “Oh two can play at that game. Would you like to dance with me Pam?” She smiled “You are truly an evil woman Sookie, and that is why I like you so much.” Felicia gave me a gin and tonic while we were waiting for the right song to come on, but my hips still moved to the music as I stood there waiting. I could feel Eric’s stare on me. “You're about to have company.” Pam whispered in my ear.




Chapter 2

I turned to see Eric who pressed me to the bar. “You are a tease, and I should take you right here and now for what you have done to me tonight.” “What I have done? It was your hand that was up my skirt in the middle of the meeting.” I bit my bottom lip. And looked up at him. He grabbed my hand “Pam we will not need your assistance any more this evening, have fun.” We were walking to the back door, when he spun me up on the office door. His hand was back up my skirt and he was not stopping this time. I arched my back against the door. “The things you do to me woman.” Eric growled in my ear. He set me back on the floor. “This is not the place to be taking my queen.” I had forgotten we were even in the bar still. I sighed and straightened out my dress. “I have invited Alexander to join us tonight, with a date.” I stopped dead in my tracks. “What! this was to be a night of just you and me at the loft.” I crossed my arms under my chest. “Well Lover, I did hear the thoughts you were having, and I always thought one of me was enough for you, but if this is what you wish I’m sure we will all have a wonderful time.” His eyes were blazing with lust. “Eric you are to stay out of my mind.” I slapped his chest. “ My thoughts of having two Vikings are my thoughts.” “Oh but you seemed to really be enjoying those thoughts.” He was teasing me trying to get a rise out of me. I was sitting in the car. Eric climbed in and we were off, it was a short drive over to the loft, but enough time for me to play with the bulge in the front of Eric’s pants. “You are playing with fire, my dear.” “Maybe I want to burn tonight.” I climbed out of the car. Eric was on me before I could move. He was unzipping his pants and laying me on top of his car. He thrust into me hard, with hunger. I bucked my hips to him, it was wild and hard sex. We walked up in to the loft and I sat on the couch and waited for Alexander to show up. “Dear, what would you think if I were to ask Alexander to be your guard? Tina is with the kids and Pam can’t be with us both.” He looked down at me as he handed me my drink. “I have you, what other guard do I need? I am comfortable with Pam and Tina.” He sat down next to me. “When I can’t be there, that leaves you with just Tina and I don’t like that idea, plus it would look better if you had a male guard instead of female.” I sighed I knew this was one battle I would never win. “Fine you can have Alexander be my guard, but I am calling him Alex.” I thought about the idea of how humans most likely would never know the difference between Eric and Alex and it would look like I always had my Viking lover by my side. There was a knock on the door. Eric kissed me and rose to get it. Alexander walked through the door alone. “What, no date?” Eric asked, kind of amused. Aww there goes my idea for an orgy. Eric said in my head, I blushed. “The women there tonight were not of my taste, I’m sorry your majesty.” Alex bowed. “They never were my taste either, that is why I found Sookie.” I stood up and went in the kitchen to refresh our drinks. “But, you must be hungry.” I said like a concerned mother. I pulled out two bottles of blood. “No Lover, tonight Royal Blend, please.” Eric said to me. I grabbed two heavy crystal goblets and pulled the royal blend out and poured. I made myself a gin and tonic and brought the drinks to Eric and Alex. “I fed before I came over that is why I am a little late tonight, but I could not refuse the honor of spending time with my King and Queen.” Alex bowed “Oh he’s good.” I looked at Eric and Eric roared with laughter. Eric did you really think that I would want to have a threesome? You know I am not really into that. Lover, you know I tease and that I don’t share well. “Alexander, how would you feel about a new position? It would mean moving here. I would love for you to be the guard for my queen.” Eric put his arm around me on the couch. “It would be an honor to be her guard.” He nodded to us. “Well, good then, that is settled. You may stay here until you find suitable lodgings for yourself.” Eric just gave Alex the loft, the place that we have gone to have wild sex with each other ever since we had the kids. I was now disappointed. I was about to say something when both Eric’s ring and my ring started to glow. I looked at him. I got up grabbed my cell phone, Eric grabbed his and Alexander had no clue what was going on. “Eric, no one is answering at home.” He nodded to me I was trying to call the cell phones now. Pam, Clancy, Jules, came walking in the door, Clancy was carrying Felicia in his arms. “Fangtasia was bombed.” Pam said. “Felicia was hurt, all other vamps are ok some minor injuries, but we lost a few humans.” I grabbed a bottle of True Blood, put a straw in it and gave to Pam. She would care for Felicia. A storm was starting to brew outside like the one in me for not knowing where the kids were. “There is no answer on anyone’s cell phones.” Eric walked over to me and pulled me into his arms. “Calm down, we don’t know anything right now, we will find them.” I spun and looked him right in the eye and a lighting bolt shot down next to the building. I pushed out of his arms and walked straight over to Jules who was looking at Alexander in diguest. “YOU!” I slapped Jules across the face. “What have you done, where are they?” He flew up to his feet and was about to pounce on me till he realized Eric had a hand on his neck. I could not just sit there and wait for the information. I ran down the steps of the loft and was standing in the rain. The storm was getting worse, I did not care. Eric stood by me “Calm down, please.” He spun me to look at him “We will find them, you would know if they were hurt, and you don’t feel that do you.” I shook my head. “Please calm down, look up there.” I looked up and saw the wall cloud of a tornado that was about to form. “Do you want to destroy us before we find the kids?” “I will kill him myself if anything has happened to them.” “Mom, Dad.” Leif was landing in front of us. I grabbed both and hugged them “What happened, are you ok?” I was looking them both over. They were not marked. “The house was attacked there were a couple of vampires and three shifters.” Leif said. He grabbed the two swords he carried and passed one to Eric. “Where is Tina?” Eric asked as we all walked back into the building. “She was trying to lose the one’s that were following her as we flew off in cover.” Adel said. Jules was tied to the chair and you could see the disappointment as Leif and Adel walked in the room in front of me. I walked over and I kicked him. “Mama Lion is here.” Eric laughed. My cell phone rang. I walked over to the kitchen “Sam?” I looked at Eric It was not Sam on the other end it was Arlene, who I had not talked to in years. “Sookie, please don’t hang up. I need to apologize for everything. I didn't think they would take it this far, the fellowship bombed Fangtasia and Merlotte's.” “Arlene, I really don’t have time to talk to you about your guilt or your feelings over this.” I was short but there was too much on my plate at the moment. I really didn't care for this woman one bit. “Sookie, they threatened my kids, Sam is hurt, bad.” I dropped the phone and fell to my knees. Eric came over and picked up the phone got all the information he could out of Arlene and scooped me up into his arms. “Sookie, look at me.” I looked into his eyes another lighting bolt hit the building. “Sam is with Trey and Amelia he will be OK, it will take some time.” My 16 years of peace was shattered in one night and I was ready to release the hell fires to make someone pay for what they had done to me. Eric walked up the steps. Alexander moved into place in front of the steps and would not let anyone pass. Eric laid me on the bed, tears were running down my face. The moment he put me down I was in the closet changing into a new pair of panties a pair of jeans and a black sweater. I threw my hair into a pony tail “Just where the hell do you think you're going?” Eric was standing in front of me. “Bon Temps, I don’t want to hear any word from you about this. I will take Alexander, we have to figure out what is going on with the fellowship, I can handle that and you have to figure out what Jules is trying to do and who sent him.” He turned, walked into the closet gave me a gun and had a huge sword. “I know you want to see Sam, but I don’t know who is after my family so it is not safe for you to go, it will be dawn soon and Alexander can not be with you in the day time. Let me call the were.” I knew he meant Alcide “now you must calm down be for you destroy the loft in your anger.” He pulled me into his arms. “I just wanted our peace to last.” I buried my face into his cheast. “You and I both knew it could not last forever. I will leave you with Alexander while the rest of us figure out what Jules' game is.” We walked back down the steps. “Take Sookie, Adel and Leif to Bon Temps, Sookie will tell you where. Tina you will stay here we will need your talents tonight.” Eric was already on the phone to Alcide “He will be there by morning.” Eric came over to me I looked at Adel.




Chapter 3

Give us cover, I said to her and she made a slight nod of her head to let me know she understood. Eric smiled at me, as he tossed a sword to Alex and Leif grabbed his. “Please be careful.” He pulled me to him and kissed me. “You know I will and I love you.” “I love you too.” He was looking in my eyes with worry. “Leif, you need to take care of your mom and sister.” He hugged his boy and walked over and kissed Adel on top of the head. We walked into the garage and we took the black suburban. I climbed in and looked back and nodded to Adel. You could feel the magic charging the air. Alex started to squirm and was not comfortable with the feel of it. “It’s ok.” I touched his leg and he seemed to calm down. “Ok mom ,all set.” I looked at Alex to let know we could now leave. My cell phone rang. It was Eric and I knew what he was going to tell me before I even answered my phone. “Yes,” “We have not figured out anything more, other than the other kings and queens have been attacked. Jules did not give up any information on who is attacking them, but they want all of America.” “Well that is not surprising, but why not attack you instead of going after the kids?” “I would ask ,but,” “You've killed him already?.” I shook my head. “Have you told the kids what to do if something happens?” “I was just about to. I love you, too.” I closed my phone. “Leif, Adel, look at me.” I turned so I could see them “If anything happens you must go to the other world and find Odin.” “Mom, Dad told me to protect you.” “Leif do not argue with me on this. This is in case something happens you two must stay together and get to Odin. He will protect you.” I looked at both of them to make sure they were listening. “Adel must be the one to open the door, she will bring you thru Leif, you are too much like your father to enter alone, I’m afraid.” “Some one has declared war on all the kings and queens of America and, well, we three are the biggest targets to bring down Dad.” I looked forward. “So it is true.” Alex said, looking at me. “What’s true?” He lost me since I was gone in my own thoughts. “You are a goddess and protected by the old gods.” I nodded “since you are going to be my guard there are things you must know. If you need extra help in protecting me or the kids pray to Odin he will answer, but it is only a "last resort" thing.” I looked back out the window. “I’m sure you saw tonight, I can control the weather. I have a hard time keeping it in check when I’m really angry.” “Yeah you should have seen the time Mom was really mad at me for drinking, there was a tornado that came through town that night.” Leif added. I shot Leif a look not to say any more. “So I must remember to stay on your good side.” Alex chuckled to me. We pulled into my home on Hummingbird Lane. Amelia was sitting on the front porch. She looked tired. We all hopped out to of the truck. I made introductions of Alex to everyone, which at this point was only Amelia and Trey. Sam was over at the Compton house. Eric and I kept it, as it might come in handy to have a place that is already vampire ready. “I’m going over to see Sam.” I looked at Adel and Leif “You two stay here I’ll come back and get you if he is up to having company.” “Alex I would like you to stay here with the kids.” “I am to guard you and keep you safe.” He looked down at me. “I will have Trey with me. Trust me, I owe Sam my life. I need someone with the kids and Sam doesn't know you, he needs to be comfortable.” I was not backing down to this man. “This will give you time to get to know the kids better, you will need that too.” I turned on my heels and met Trey at the door. “Is she always like this.” Alex asked the room. “She is being nice to you.” Amelia said. “When Eric made her angry she would just rescind his invitation and leave him outside.” I turned back and smiled at Amelia. We walked through the cemetery. “Trey, I need to stop for a minute.” I walked over to Bill’s grave. I had made sure that some of his ash was placed here. “I miss you Bill.” A tear ran down my cheek. He might have been a lousy boyfriend, but he was a great friend. I knew how much he loved me, but the politics that he chose to play got in the way of what we could have had. I stood up and looked at Trey. “He was a good man, Sookie.” “Thanks Trey.” I put my head on his shoulder. “Now, off to yet another man that I can not bare to lose.” “Before we go in, can I ask you a question?” Trey was nervous about something. “You know you can, what's up?” I was beaming at him because I already knew. Not because I could read minds but since Amelia had already asked. “Amelia and I were wondering if you would be Godmother to our child.” I hugged Trey the moment it came out. Then I kissed his cheek. “You know I would never say no to that.” “Ok, well let's go see Sam.” We finished our walk over and he opened the door to the house. “He’s up stairs.” I was overwhelmed with emotions. I haven't been back to this house since the night of the war, and it hasn't changed. I could still see Bill reading by the fire place, as he did often. I sighed and looked to the stairs. I walked up and entered the room that still had a few of my things in it that I had forgotten about. “Sam.” I sat gently on the bed next to him and grabbed his hand “How are you.” He didn't look good at all. He was banged and bruised from head to toe. There were burns on his arms. He opened his eyes and looked at me, he smiled. I held my fingers to his lips. “Don’t speak, I want you to rest. We will figure out where the bombers are and we will have justice for this attack. I already have a lead on them, thanks to Arlene. She couldn't stand the thought of you getting hurt and has told me everything.” I kissed his forehead. “You need to rest. I’ll be back in the morning” I stood up and went downstairs to Trey. Tears were falling from my eyes. “He really is not as bad as he looks Sook. Dr. Ludwig will be here tomorrow to change his dressings most of them are healing already.” I shook my head. We walked the rest of the way home in silence. I was tired and wanted nothing more than to curl up in my Viking’s arms. I was hoping that he would be here by now. I sighed as I walked in the door. “Ok, let’s go back to Shreveport.” Everyone looked at me as if I was crazy. “Look we will call the police on this one. Its simple, Arlene will cooperate with them fully and they can deal with the mess.” They all looked stunned. “Look, we could go to war with them, then have everything that we have worked for back fire on us by making us look like the bad guys. The media will get this story and look at Merlotte’s. It is only owned by a supe, look at all the humans that were hurt by the fellowship.” “Well, this is why you are Queen.” Trey shook his head “I can’t believe I am agreeing with this but you are correct. We need to let the media help us with the mess.” We all said our goodbyes, told Amelia to call me in the afternoon. We were heading home to Eric. I did notice Adel seemed to like Alex. That is something Eric and I will need to discuss when I get home. No, when you get home the only thing I want to discuss is you and I naked in bed together. Very funny where should we meet you? I will call so Alexander does not know I can read minds. My phone rang “yes dear.” I giggled into the phone. “Fangtasia, I’m here now looking over the damage.” “Perfect. I want to call the police in on this matter, let them clean it up.” “You will have to let me know what you are thinking when you get here.” “Will do, I love you.” “I love you, too.” I hung up the phone. “Mom, you and Dad make me sick with all the love stuff.” Leif was laughing. “Oh no, that is what I want to find, someone that loves me so much that they can’t stand to be away from me one moment more than they have to.” Adel sighed. Alex and I looked at each other and laughed. “What your father and I have is something that is very special. It took us time to build, and it doesn't happen very often with vampires.” We pulled into the back of what was Fangtasia. “Oh my!” was all I could say. There was a huge whole in the wall where the bathroom was, it must have been where they placed the bomb. Eric walked over to the car and opened the door for me. “Well, my office is still intact.” I slapped his chest. He laughed. He pulled me to him and kissed me. “You and I have much to discuss. Alex please take the kids back home. Leif can give you directions and Tina is already there.” Eric closed the door and they left. We walked into the office and there were a couple of police officers there, I told them all that I knew about Fangtasia and Merlotte’s and gave them Arlene’s name and number. There was a news crew there and Eric and I walked out to his corvette. “Mr. Northman, can you please tell us what happened here tonight?” The reporter asked. “It seems that the Fellowship of the Sun has targeted two businesses that are owned by the supernatural, one is owned by a vampire and the other is owned by a shifter. It is too bad that the only ones that were hurt and killed were all humans. That is all I can say on the matter.” He opened the car door for me and I slid in, then we drove off. “Lover, it is a good thing I can read your thoughts.” He smiled at me I smiled back at him. “So how bad is Sam?” He looked at me. “He will be OK, Dr. Ludwig is looking after him, he has burns all over his arms and he is pretty banged up. I told him I would come and see him tomorrow.” “Now for the bad news, it seems that one of the queens from the Middle East has decided she is tired of hiding in her country and wants to take over America as hers.” I shook my head. “I’m too tired to think about this tonight.”



Chapter 4

Eric kissed my hand. I layed my head back and looked out the window. We got home and I went down by the lake to be by myself. We have a small house down on the water. It had one room with everything you would need to entertain a few guests for a night by the lake. There was a shed down there too that held all the things you would use on the water for the boats. I thought about all the things that had happened in the past 16 years, it was all happy. Like the first time Eric thought he would be nice and change Leif for me since I was feeding Adel. Leif had perfect aim and hit Eric in the face; he never changed a diaper again. Or my baby shower that was at night so my vampire friends could be there. Pam's idea of a gift was all lingerie and things for the bedroom. When Eric took me to the court house to make our marriage legal in the human world. There was even a news crew there to show the Great Eric Northman "most eligible bachelor in Shreveport" was off the market. Trey and Amelia had gotten married; Octavia still rents the house from me. Alcide had been married and had had a couple of kids. He is now raising them on his own, his wife died in a car accident. Quinn was still around every now and again. He still hates Eric. I still looked as if I was only 25 years old, I wasn't aging and Adel loved to let me know how all her friends' Moms wanted to know my secret. “What's wrong, Lover?” Eric was leaning against the railing on the porch. “Everything and nothing.” I said to him. He came over and took me in his arms “You know I love the water”, he said as he kissed the top of my head. “This is what I love and I don’t want to go away, we can just stay down here in peace and just be with each other, but soon this place will be a battle field and I might lose all that I love,” I felt the tears welling up. “We will always have this place and each other, Lover. There is nothing we cannot get thru as long as we are together.” He turned me to look at him. “You have to believe in that.” “What of the kids? They're at the age that they truly are adults now, they're both growing so fast.” I was sad at the thought of them moving off on their own in just a couple of years. “Adel is falling for Alex, I can see it in her eyes.” “That wouldn't be such a bad thing in my book. It's quite a match when you think about it.” He wiggled his eye brows at me. I started to laugh. "Lets go back to the house, I’m tired," I said. He grabbed my hand and we strolled up to the house. Leif, Adel, Tina and Alex were in the living room watching a movie. We didn't even disturb them so we went up to our room. Eric pulled my panties out of his pocket and wiggled his eye brow at me. “You are unbelievable.” He was on me before I could even move and he threw me down on the bed. “No, Dear One, you are the one who is unbelievable. I am still unsure what spell you have me under but I don’t want it to ever end.” I pulled Eric on top of me he kissed me hard and growled in my mouth, then ended the kiss. “Lover we have to talk before I get distracted by you and your lust.” He smiled down at me. “My lust, oh this is all me?” I pushed him off me and laughed. He sat up and pulled me on to his lap. “Unfortunately, we are in a grave situtaion with the attacks on our kingdoms and we are planning to have a meeting with all the Kings and Queens about the threat to America.” I looked into his eyes, he was hungry for a fight and I could feel his excitement through the bond. “So, where are we meeting?” I sighed knowing that this would mean ceremonies and parties where all them are trying to out-do each other. “Is it really safe to have all of us in one room open for attacks?” “We don’t really have much of a choice but to meet and come together. Sheba is a great threat, I am not clear how many she has convinced we should all be under one ruler, but she is strong and older than dirt.” He was holding something back from me, I could feel it, but I wouldn't press the matter with him, for now. “Eric, what do you mean older than dirt? How could there be anyone as old as you?” I teased him. “She is older than Christ himself. She is well over 2000 years old. I am not sure of her true age. This is not something that should be joked of.” I stopped laughing when I saw how serious he was. “Ok, do you know her?” I was still trying to keep from laughing out loud. “Yes, there was a time that I fought by her side when we were trying to stop the Templar’s from raiding Israel.” He was lost in his thoughts. “So how do we stop her?” “This will take all of America to come together and fight as one. It will mean we need to have the Were community from here to bring the Weres from all over the country to fight with us. She is not one that will rule kindly and she will kill the Weres and Shifters for the fun of it. You think the fighting pits that the tiger was in were bad, Sheba would have them fight to the death and then kill the other, just because she could. She has no love for humans either, they are nothing but food to her, and she doesn't even look at them as pets.” “I should talk to Claudine about this too.” Eric nodded his head in agreement. “Also,” he let out a sigh, “Call the Tiger.” “Whoa! You are telling me to call Quinn?!” I was shocked. Eric hated Quinn like no other. Quinn was always the thorn in Eric’s side. The first two years of mine and Eric’s marriage, Quinn would take every opportunity to send me gifts and flowers and tell me if Eric was not treating me well that I knew where to find him. “I see no other way to bring the two natures together without his help.” He said this with such disgust that I was not sure if the two could even be in the same room together, let alone show that they could be on the same side. “If he calls you "Babe" in front of me, I will rip out his throat.” He raised an eyebrow at me, “Well then, I need to know where we are to meet so I can make sure he is there too.” I knew the thought of me anywhere near Quinn was killing Eric. “I flipped open my cell phone and pulled Quinn’s number up. “Chicago. We leave in four days.” He sat me on the bed and got up to pace as I made the phone call. “Hello.” I heard thru my phone. I took a deep breath. “Hi Quinn, it’s Sookie.” There was silence on the other end of the phone I was about to just start talking. “So, you have come to your senses and you're calling me to come and get you huh, Babe?” I looked over at Eric and knew he heard that from the look on his face. “No, I’m still with Eric, but we need your help.” “Sorry Babe, I’m not into helping out vampires at all.” “Quinn can you please just listen to me?” This was going to be harder than I thought. “Meet me out and I will.” “Only if my husband can be with me.” Eric came over and grabbed the phone from me. “Listen here Tiger, you may not have any meeting with my wife, I had her call you because Sheba has decided to attack America. If you do not want to help with the two natures, so be it! When you end up in her pits, I will be the first to cheer your death!” Eric threw my phone across the room. Eric’s phone rang, he threw it over to me “Hello Quinn.” “OK where is the big meeting on this?” I gave him the details and I hung up. “I’m going to take a shower and then I’m going to bed.” I got up to head to our master bath. Eric grabbed me, “I’ll bathe you tonight.” I smiled at him. Eric ran the shower and pulled my sweatshirt over my head. He pulled my pants off and looked me over from head to toe. “I do understand why he won’t give up, but it will mean the death of him if he keeps trying.” “Keeps trying? Eric, what are you not telling me? I haven't talked to Quinn in over 10 years.” Eric sighed, he walked in to the closet and pulled out a box. It was full of letters that Quinn had sent me over the years. None of them were open, but I never did receive them. “Eric, how could you?” I couldn't believe my eyes “Is it not me that should have deiced what to do with these? I would have shown them to you." I was looking through the box. There was a smaller black box in the bottom, I picked it up and opened it. There was a note inside," Babe, I bought this after the first night we went out. I never had the nerve to give it too you. Now I have lost you forever and I can’t look at this any more. Since I bought for you, it belongs to you. Quinn" It was an emerald ring set in white gold. “I would have given this back to him, now how am I to do that, I’m well aware that my husband is a jealous jerk, and I never knew he gave this to me, but since I’m in love with "the jerk" I can’t keep it.” Eric roared with laughter. “I’m not joking you jerk.” I threw a towel at him and walked into the shower leaving the box of letters sitting there. Eric slid in behind me “I only did it because I can’t think of any other man ever being with you.” His hands were messaging my shoulders. I moaned because of it. His hands knew just how to make me forgive him for all that he does. I knew that Eric was not keeping the letters from me because he was scared I would leave, he just can’t stand me being upset, and those letters would have made me very upset. I turned and looked at him “You owe me a new cell phone.” I wrapped my arms around his neck. “I know you want to protect me from everything, but I would have shown you the letters and I would not have hidden them from you. Please don’t hide things from me.” I kissed him “You know that I can’t stand the tiger, he needs to stop sending you gifts, I should kill him for the one he sent to ME on our anniversary.” He was looking me in the eyes and I could see and feel the anger building in him. I kissed Eric harder and deeper this time, pulling him closer to me. I felt that I should redirect his anger and, well, what better way then let him take it out on me? He growled in my mouth and pushed me hard against the wall. His mouth moved down to my breast, his hand was between my legs rubbing my nub, I was moaning with delight trying not to be too loud with everyone down stairs. Eric moved his mouth back to mine and picked me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist and he thrust himself into me, hard. I wanted to yell out. I found myself having a hard time controlling how loud I was moaning. As he thrust in I arched my back against the wall squeezed my self onto him. He opened the shower and carried me to the bed throwing me down on the edge. He picked up my hips and thrust hard into me. I grabbed the comforter on the bed trying to keep my self from yelling out. Then Eric pushed me up the bed so he could lie on top of me. Ours eyes locked onto one another. He rolled over so I was on top, while his hands worked my breasts. He sat up, wrapped his arms over my shoulders, and pushed harder and deeper into me. I was trying not to scream out with pleasure so I bit Eric's shoulder instead. I licked the drops of blood that emerged. Eric moaned “Drink” He was trying to control himself. I bit again, and more blood filled my mouth. I drank from him, getting a great rush of pleasure and he was about to climax, taking me with him. He pulled away from my mouth so he could take my breast again into his. I felt his fangs, and as he bit we both climaxed. Eric kept drinking. We both fell back on the bed. “I don’t think I could ever want to drink from another human ever again.” He stroked my hair. “Well, it’s a good thing you don’t have to.” I kissed him on his chest. He pulled the cover back and we climbed in. “Now lover you need to get some rest. I know you are going to Bon Temps to see Sam tomorrow.” He kissed me as he pulled me into his arms to sleep. “You won't be here when I wake will you?” I was sad as we hadn't slept away from each other since I moved in with him. “No, you know I have to be secure during daylight. If they had not already attacked our home it wouldn't be an issue. I will be in my safe room when you awaken, but I will stay until you fall asleep.” I cuddled into him and drifted off to sleep.


Chapter 5

I had one of the oddest dreams. Frigg was there. We were talking about all the things that were going on, and she was telling me about changes that were happening to all of us. As Eric and I become older, our powers were increasing. “What are you a saying, your highness? Eric will have what I have from drinking my blood.” “Well child, as you know, as a vampire gets older they need less sleep and feed less. Since Eric has had nothing but the blood of a goddess for these past 16 years, you have made him more powerful than he would have been if he were without you. Eric can walk in the day light hours, he just cannot be in direct sunlight, and if it is cloudy he can be outside. I’m sure as the years pass, he will become a true day walker like your children. You know Leif can feed from blood and he gets strength from it when it is needed.” “Yes, but Leif has no need for it; though he does seem to crave it when he is excited.” “Eric is transforming into that as well. Father and Son will be very similar sooner than you know.” “Is there any way that we can make Eric a true day walker?” I asked, thinking about how wonderful it would be to see Eric in the sun again. Frigg handed me a bottle of what looked like blood, but it was shimmering and dancing around inside the bottle. “He will need to be awake during daylight hours with the things you are about to face.” She looked at me very seriously. “Sheba is very powerful and she has waited for the right time to strike, she doesn't know anything more than the rumors about you and your children. That will work to your advantage. She wants to take Leif as her lover, we cannot let this happen.” She arose and was gone. I sat up in bed breathing hard. I looked at the bottle in my hand. Eric came running in the room. He could feel my fear through our bond. “What is that?” He looked at the bottle in my hand. He came and sat on the bed. I handed it to him “If you drink this, you will be able to walk in the sun from here on out. It will speed up the process that you are already going through just from drinking my blood.” I looked him in the eyes. “Well, that explains why I have been waking before four everyday.” He kissed my forehead. “You can be outside right now on a cloudy day, just not in full sunlight. Frigg said this stuff will give you that ability. It seems that soon, you won’t need to feed on blood either. You and your son are becoming the same.” tears were starting to form in my eyes. “Why are you crying? This is great!” Eric was puzzled by the tears. He took the bottle and drank it all. “Yes, it is great, that's why I'm crying.” He shook his head at me. “You know what this means right?” He was wiggling his eyebrows at me “I get to fuck you in the sunlight. Oh, on the boat in the middle of the day, I think we should do that now.” “No, I need to get ready to go to Bon Temps and see Sam.” I got up out of bed. “You are a cold-hearted woman, Sookie Northman.” Eric walked into the bathroom to take a shower, I joined him. “What are you doing, woman?” Eric wasn't happy about my refusing sex. “You cannot come in here and not expect me to take what I want.” He had my back pushed against the wall and looking down into my eyes. “I only said no to sex on the boat right now.” I grabbed him and pulled him to me “Besides, the kids have already left for school.” We both stopped and look at each other. “They cannot go to school with the danger we are in.” Eric was out of the shower and dressed before I could even get toweled off. I got dressed quickly too, then ran downstairs. Eric was about to walk out the door. “Where do you think you're going?” I put my hand on his chest. “I am going with you. You and the kids need protection. Now that I can be awake during the day, I will be with my family.” He opened the door. Quinn was standing there, about to knock on the door. “I will be back with the kids, you can take care of this.” Eric pointed to Quinn. I walked over to the door, Eric grabbed me pulled me to him and kissed me, my knees went weak and my body was screaming over what was started and he had not finished. “That is not nice Eric.” I whispered in his ear. “I will be back with the kids, we will go see Sam after that.” He kissed my forehead, he let Quinn enter the house. “Sorry about that. What can I do for you, Quinn?” I asked while gesturing him to sit, “Would you like something to drink?” At least I can always count on my manners. “How is it that he is up and walking?” Quinn was looking right at me. His purple eyes were blazing with question of the scene he just witnessed. “Well, I really can’t explain that.” I would not answer that question; my life depended on it. Yet another thing for me to worry about, my blood gave vampires the ability to walk in the sun. Now granted, it took time to build up to that, but yet here it is Eric is now my day walker. “Well, tell me, how did Sam get hurt?” I looked at him, “There were two bombs, one at Merlotte's and one at Fangtasia. A small group of the Fellowship took credit for it.” “Well Babe, if you are going to Bon Temps I think I’ll follow you out there to see Sam and Alcide and figure out the best way to proceed.” “Quinn, I have something that is yours. I never knew it was sent to me until last night.” I ran up stairs and grabbed the box of letters and I placed them in his lap. “I thank you for your care, but I do not appreciate you trying to wedge yourself between Eric and me.” My eyes were blazing with anger. “You never read one of these?” He looked wounded. “No I did not, Eric took them before I even saw them. He didn't want me to be upset.” “You asked me once why I never liked Eric, and look, you're ok with him hiding letters from you for the past 16 years. I thought you were your own person, I guess I was wrong there, Babe.” He stood in front of me holding the ring box in his hand. He looked at it. “I am my own woman, Quinn. I'm a married mother of two. My husband has done something that I am very angry about, but do not think for one minute the way that Eric and I deal with our issues or problems has anything to do with you or is any of your business.” I was trying to keep my temper in check. It was getting pretty difficult. “You don’t think it is any of my business? I need to be close to you, but I need to get you out of my head, and for 17 years all I can do is think about you and those damned vampires that you seem to love, and how you are so much better than this.” Quinn was standing in front of me looking down at me. “I think it best you leave before Eric gets home. I don’t want either of you hurt.” I looked at Quinn. “This is not the time for such a discussion.” “You never let me have this discussion!” Quinn said crossing over to the door. “Babe, have you ever wondered what it is about you that all the supes you have ever had contact with can’t seem to move on with their lives? Even Alcide married a woman who was too weak to get upset with him having contact with you.” He left.


Chapter 6

I sat down on the couch and thought about what Quinn had just said to me. Bill gave his life to prove to me how much he loved me. Sam would not let me out of his life. Alcide married another Were but she was a meek woman that never challenged anything he said. I just thought that was what he needed after Debbie. Quinn, even Eric. He would never let me out of his sight after we had been together, I was never truly alone. There were always eyes on me for Eric, making sure I was ok. I heard the car pull in the drive I walked out, not even letting him or the kids come in the house. I saw Quinn waiting in his car to follow us. I got in the car and we were off. What is wrong Lover, what did that tiger do that has upset you so? We'll talk about it later, I don’t want to get into it right now. “So did you tell the school they will be finishing their courses online from here on out?” “Yes, it is a good thing they are ahead and scheduled to graduate this spring.” Eric was angry “I never really liked the idea of them going to human schools.” “Yes, well that's over with now.” “Mom, Dad, can you please tell us what is going on?” Adel asked. Leif had his ear buds in from his Ipod, not listening to anything we were saying. Adel reached over and ripped them out of his ears. “Hey what the hell, Adel?!” Leif said, forgetting that his parents were in the front seat, “Sorry, mom.” I shook my head and just let it go. Eric started to chuckle “You are letting him get away with that, this is amusing.” “Let’s just get there please.” There was so much tension, you could cut it with a knife. All of sudden, I didn't want to be in the same room with four men that all said they love me in some capacity. We pulled into the drive and walked up to the door. Alcide opened the door to us. “Sookie you are looking lovely, as always.” He hugged me, he looked like he was trying to catch flies when he saw who got out of the driver's seat of the truck. “Don’t ask Alcide, I have no answers for you.” I said before he could ask. “Eric,” Alcide nodded to Eric. Eric bowed his head and walked in followed by the kids. Sam was still on the couch. Most of his bruises were gone and he was actually sitting and talking about going to the bar to make sure everything was getting done so he could reopen. “Sookie,” he stood up and I shot him a look to tell him to sit back down. “Eric?” “OK I’m going to say this one last time. Don’t ask, I don’t have any answers as to why Eric is able to be out in the daylight.” I was annoyed. Quinn walked in the door. He and Alcide walked by the rest of us and into the living room. Sam made some small talk with the kids and we told them to go over by Octavia and we would be there shortly. Eric began to explain our plans, “We are heading to Chicago in three days for a meeting of all the kingdoms. We would like for the two-natured to be present at that time as well. Sheba is not a vampire to be toyed with. She is older than I, and it is rumored that she is Lilith from the myths of the Tankah.” Eric told everyone “There is no proof of this, and I think it is something she uses to scare others.” Eric was up looking out the window. “We will do our best to make sure all the packs are there.” Alcide assured Eric. “Good, she has already made the mistake of attacking my family instead of coming for me.” “Where are you going to keep Sookie and the kids during the battle?” Quinn asked. “I’ll be by my husband’s side,” I said while looking right at Quinn. “The kids are ready for this. They must learn how to protect themselves.” Eric turned and looked at me. I blushed from the feelings he was sending through the bond. “Sam, are you going to be able to attend with us?” Eric looked over at him. “No, I really think I will need to be here to make sure everything is done with the bar and I only want to be involved as much as I need to be.” Sam did not like getting involved in any of the politics of the supernatural world. “Quinn we will need to you to get in touch with as many two-natured as you can.” Eric would not even look at him as he spoke. “Babe, I can do this for you.” Quinn answered to me. I sighed, I knew right where this was going and I could feel the anger rising through the bond. “Lover, please tell the pussycat not to call you by that name, it is insulting to you.” Eric said. I looked pleadingly to Sam for help and he just shrugged at me. “Could you both just stop now, please?” I asked them and they ignored me. Eric turned from the window and I knew what was going to happen before I could even react. Eric had Quinn by the throat, and his fangs were fully extended. “I have to say, you must be the dumbest man on this earth to send me a wooden stake for my anniversary and think I would not react. Do you think if you killed me, my wife would go running into your arms, Tiger?” They started a full out fight. “STOP NOW!” I screamed at the top of my lungs the wind started to howl outside and Leif and Adel came running through the door. “Mom, calm down,” Adel came running over to me. Leif went to try to stop the two men who were both out to kill each other. “Leif, back away from them, now!” I yelled, “If these two think that I want to see them kill each other when we have more danger from the outside, let them! Alcide, would you please drive us home?” He nodded to me and I walked out of the door pushing the kids in front of me. Eric came running out blood all over him. “Don’t!” I spun around, “Don’t what, Mr. Northman? Leave you here because you are acting like a jerk?!” Quinn came out the door who clearly had a broken arm “Great, I really hope you are both happy with yourselves you are both injured when we could be attacked at any moment. Am I such a prize that you both are willing to kill each other over?” “Yes,” They both said at the same time. “Well great! I’m glad we have finally found something you can both agree on.” Tears were running down my face. “Sookie, I'm sorry.” Eric was standing in front of me. “Not good enough.” I looked up in his eyes. He grabbed my hand and went down on his knee “Oh my lovely Goddess, will you ever find it in your heart to forgive this lowly vampire, for acting like a buffoon in front of your friends? I have clearly angered my sweet goddess who I cannot live a day without.” He stood up and looked at me “Is that any better?” “I’m thinking I should have stayed with Bill.” “Ouch, you wound me so, Lover.” I walked over to Quinn “How could you? You sent my husband a stake for our anniversary!” He leaned against the railing of the porch and just stared at me. His eyes were changing color while he was trying not to change, but his anger was getting the better of him. “Do you want me to hate you? That is the only thing I can think of right now. To tell you to stay away from me and my family? If you cannot take me telling you that I love Eric, then I cannot have you in my life.” Eric came over and took my hand and led me to the car. Alcide had left already with the kids. My cell phone rang. It was Adel asking me if she and Leif could watch Alcide’s kids tonight so he could meet with the pack, I told her fine.

Chapter 7

We pulled into the garage and I went in the house. Eric came in after me went and brought out a sword and went to the back yard. The sun was down when we got home I went inside and heated up three True Bloods and waited by the door. Alex Pam and Tina all came up to the door I opened without even a hello and walked into the kitchen and put the Bloods on the counter. “Mister high and mighty is outside” “Trouble in paradise” Pam said “He broke Quinn’s arm today in front of Sam and Alcide.” “Sookie Quinn is lucky that is all he did to him.” Pam said “He sent him a stake as a gift he is lucky he has lived this long from such an offense.” “Quinn sent Eric a stake and he still is alive?” Alex was shocked by this “He only lives because of her.” Tina said to him “Don’t you three have something better to do than bug me?” I asked Pam cocked an eye brow at me “No” “Alex you are to go to Alcide’s house and keep an eye on the kids, Tina go with him.” Eric growled his orders to them “Pam you need to go see about Fangtasia and make sure all our plans are in place for Chicago.” They all nodded and left. Eric walked over to me I stood my ground and looked into his angry eyes “You infuriate me woman.” “The same can be said about you.” “I would never have let a woman speak to me in such a way even when I was human.” His eyes were glowing with anger. “Well that is what happens when you are a 1000+ years and have not gotten use to equal lib.” I shot back at him. He turned away from me and put a True Blood in the microwave for himself. I washed out that bottles from the other three, tears were running down my cheeks, I knew Eric was right about it all, but I was being too stubborn to admit it to him. Quinn had no right to keep interfering in on us and not expect Eric to react. Maybe Quinn was trying to see how much I could make Eric heal to me. It is then that I had the worst thought, one of the bottles slipped out of my hand and shattered on the floor by my feet. Eric turned to see what I had done and caught me as I crumpled to the floor. “What is wrong with you, and please do not tell me you are pregnant again.” Eric eyes were locked onto mine. “I’m thinking we might have more to worry about than just Sheba, Eric we better find out if Quinn’s mom is still in her home or if anyone is holding her to use against Quinn.” He’s eyes blazed as he realized just what I was hinting about. “The tiger is setting us up.” “That is what I am thinking.” Eric kissed me hard and I could feel his excitement in the bond. “I love the way you think Lover.” He picked me up and took me upstairs. “Now are we ok?” I asked him “When are we not OK, I get mad you get mad, we work it out.” “There is something else that is still puzzling me; Quinn had asked me if I knew why it was every man that has ever been involved in my life can’t let me go. You have a gift not that much unlike Tina’s she can bend a man to her will make them feel like she needs to be protected and cared for makes it very easy for her to feed and always have shelter. There is also the fact that you are a goddess and made from the goddess of fertility so you are that much more attractive to men.” He stated all of this so matter of fact. “Here I thought you were going to tell me it was my personality.” Eric roared with laughter, “Oh but Lover I’m the only one who knows how much better your goddess blood is.” He kissed me gently. “Now Lover I need to make a few calls to Las Vegas and find out about Quinn’s dear old mother. “Eric, you don’t want any more kids?” He looked surprised by my question. “Yes I do but I want you and I to have time to ourselves first, maybe in a hundred years or so we can have another.” “What makes you think I’ll live that long?” “You are not mortal anymore remember.” He flipped open his cell phone and walked out of the room. I was sure he was heading over to the office in the next room. I had no idea what time the kids were going to be getting home and it did feel good to have the house to just Eric and I. I looked over at the clock it was 4:30 and I felt like I could go to sleep. I must have drifted off when I heard a commotion for down stairs. I jumped out of bed and Eric and I ran down stairs. Adel was crying and Leif was fighting with Alex. “If I ever see you kissing my sister again I’ll kill you I don’t care how much older you are than me.” Leif was protecting his sister “Enough” Eric roared and grabbed both Alex and Leif by the necks, “Since I am the oldest in this house and I am your father I will decide what is OK and what is not.” He threw them both on the couch “Now tell me what has happened Adel.” She was too scared to speak since Eric had a nasty habit of running every boy that liked her out the door before they even had a date. She looked to me to help her. I walked over and hugged her. “It’s ok.” I whispered in her ear. “Since Alex has been spending so much time with Leif and I, we have gotten to know each other, he asked me if he could take me out to dinner. We were standing outside and I kissed him, sorry daddy.” “Adel there is nothing for you to feel sorry for, I’m just glad you have found someone that is not human for once.” Don’t forget you fell for a human Bub. Alexander I should not even have to talk to you about this but you have chosen to fight what you are to protect. You are both lucky that no one is hurt by this little fight.” Eric turned and looked at me. “Leif to your room now, get ready for training. Your mother and I need to talk with Alexander and Adel alone.” Oh shit here we go Mom don’t let him chase off Alex I really like him I know “Now Alexander I hope you would not have considered courting my daughter without asking my permission to do so.” Eric sat down in the plush leather chair and stared at the two of them. “No sir, I just wanted to see if there was the same interest from her before I approached you on the subject.” He kept his eyes low out of respect to Eric. “Well than I do not see any reason why you cannot court her, but I will tell you if you hurt her I will be the one that puts a stake thru your heart.” “If I don’t bet you to it you mean.” I threw out there, I was not happy about the age difference but I knew I could not say a word since they were closer in age than Eric and I were. That is the human in me I guess. “And I would like to know where you are taking our little girl?” Eric looked at Alex “I would like to take her to dinner I was thinking your restaurant.” Eric chuckled at that. “Yes you may.” Adel shot up and kissed Eric on the cheek “Thank you daddy!” and she was off to her room to change. “Eric I forgot about the European you said was coming.” Again came the chuckle “That was called off with the danger that is here in America right now.”



Chapter 8

I went to the kitchen, warmed up two True bloods, walked back into the living room and handed Alex a bottle “Don’t even think about marking her tonight.” I handed the other bottle to Eric. “She is right, you are not to feed off her.” Adel came down in a little black dress. She came over gave me a hug and kissed her dad on the cheek. “It will be dinner, then home. There is too much danger out there right now for anything else.” Eric walked upstairs to get Leif for their training session and I knew it would be good for Leif to work off his anger and I also knew Eric was going to punish his son for attacking a king’s guard. He was going to have to learn the politics of it all one way or the other. Alex and Adel left holding hands. I took the time to look at what gowns I would need to pack for the evening I walked in to our walk-in closet and was looking over the dresses there was a garment bag hanging there that I had completely forgotten about. I grabbed the bag and I walked into the room I set it on the bed. I unzipped the bag and looked at the dress I had not seen in years. It was a slivery white with a thigh high slit. It had a plunging neckline that went all the way to the waist line. The bodice and waist were fully sequined. It was a halter top neckline. The satin of the skirt had a slight train. I pulled it on to see if it would still fit and it did. Eric walked into the room “You were to wear that for our ceremony.” He said crossing over to me and looking me up and down. “Well by the time we got to have the ceremony I was a little big for this dress, I was thinking about taking it for the meeting.” “I don’t know if it will survive that long.” He said as he pulled me into his arms “I knew it would look good on you as soon as I saw it.” He eyes were filled with lust. “Oh no you don’t” I pushed him away “I am going to wear this dress out before you rip off.” I unzipped it and took it off before Eric could help me. I put it back on the hanger and garment bag. I got dressed “Pam is here.” I told Eric who was not looking to happy that I was dressed. We walked back down stairs “I could send her out and we could go to bed.” Eric slapped my butt. “You two just can’t seem to keep your hands off each other. It makes me sick.” Pam said. I laughed at her. “The repairs have started it will take time since there was a lot of structural damage. I have the private jet ready for our departure. The suites have been booked at the Hilton you two have the Presidential suite, the kids, Alex, Tina and I are in another suite a couple floors down.” She nodded to Eric. “Thank you, Pam,” Eric said. “I was thinking since we will be in Chicago, why don’t you and all the girls go shopping for your dresses there.” He was looking at me “Do you know how much damage Adel will do to your credit card?” I laughed “Yes but she must have the proper attire. She has never been to anything like this.” I was thinking about how good Eric looked in a tux. The wave of lust hit Eric through the bond. “Pam would you mind taking Leif out for dinner, he will need to eat after what I just put him thru. He might need to have a little blood, too.” “What did you do to him?” I asked, as Leif came downstairs from his room. He was bruised and had little cuts from where he did not block his father in time. “I did nothing, compared to what he will be seeing in the near future, and he must be ready. We did find out one thing, he can throw energy blasts. He knocked me down with one. Now, we will focus on control of that, I wonder what Adel can do, that girl’s mind is so powerful.” I was next to Leif looking him over. “Yes, I think he will need blood to heal all of this faster.” There was a knock at the door. I took Leif’s hand and led him into the kitchen, My ring started to glow. “Leif” I held my wrist to him “feed NOW.” He looked at me and his fangs ran out and he bit my wrist. I heard King Michael’s voice from the living room and I was wondering why he was here and not in Wisconsin. Leif licked my wound. I pushed my bracelet down to make sure it covered the marks Leif left on me. I watched all the marks leave Leif’s body and I nodded to him. Be on your toes, something is not right, I said to Leif. He nodded to me. We got up and walked back to the living room “Michael, it is always nice to see you. To what do owe the pleasure of this visit?" I asked as I crossed the room to Eric. His hands were behind his back as his ring was glowing as well. "All the kingdoms are gathering now. Sheba is here in Shreveport. There is no more time. The strike must happen before she gets to you and your family.” “How much power has she taken?” Eric asked “She has wiped out Georgia; she wants Louisiana next, since you have made it better than even when Sophia-Ann was Queen. If she gets this, she will have an easy time getting the rest of the states.” I let my shields drop and I probed Michael’s head. Sookie and the kids must be protected this is the only way we can have peace. Eric must bring everyone together against this threat, he is the only one that can achieve this. Eric, Michael is not the threat. OH NO! Adel, call to her now! I walked back into the Kitchen. Leif followed me. I flipped open my cell phone, they didn't answer. “I need to find my daughter.” I started up the stairs before I hit the first landing my clothing changed into my amour. “Eric, change now.” I looked at Leif he was in full armor too, I’m hoping that means Adel is too. I ran back down the stairs. “Michael, it has started. Get everyone ready.” Eric and Leif opened the arsenal room that was behind a bookshelf in the living room and started to gear up. Pam started grabbing weapons. The door burst open Alex had Adel unconscious in his arms. Her head was bleeding Alex had a deep cut on his neck. Eric flew into a rage, he was going to go berserk tonight and God help anyone that got in his way. Leif was feeding off his father’s rage. I have never seen two more scary creatures in my life. “What happened Alex.” I crossed over to them as he laid Adel on the couch. “Sheba attacked us at the restaurant. She knocked Adel across the room, and Adel hit her head on the wall. I fought her, but she left as soon as she realized Eric wasn't there.” Eric crossed over to me and kneeled down. He looked at Adel's head. He bit his wrist and placed it to Adel’s mouth, as soon as the blood hit her mouth her eyes opened and she grabbed the wrist to her mouth took a few drinks and released. Her fangs were fully extended. This was the first time either Eric or I had seen Adel had fangs. “WOW!” Adel sat up. As she did her clothing changed to her amour and hers matched mine a golden breast plate, leather skirt, leather boots that were up to the calves and her hair was braided. “That's what blood tastes like, WOW I like it!” She was going into a bloodlust. “Adel clear your head.” I grabbed her shoulders “We need you to focus on what is about to happen.” “I really think Sheba thought we were the two of you,” Alex said. He was thinking about the attack. “I know she wants Leif, that's who her target is. She wants him to be her king.” Eric rose to his full length and grabbed me up to him and pulled me into a deep hard kiss. “You know how much I love a battle.” “I'll call the packs.” I flipped open my cell phone and started to call all the packs in the area. “Time to go to battle.” We went through the door. There were seven vampires standing out on the front lawn. Sheba must have been right up front. There was a tall slender woman all in black. Her skin looked like golden honey with long black braids trailing over her shoulders. “Eric, my love, it has been too long. I’m here to ask you to fight by my side again. It would be such a shame to have to kill you.” Sheba said as she took a few steps to Eric. I walked up to his side and held my head high. “You have no right to call him your love!” I said to her and a lightning bolt shot out of the sky and hit right by her side. “Lover, your aim seems to be a little off. I think you should practice with the other vamps back there.” Eric looked down at me. Four lightning bolts shot out of the sky I hit three vampires they started burning before us. “I will not give you what is mine, Sheba.” Eric took out his sword. “I know how well you fight Viking, and it would be stupid of me to think that only seven vampires could take out my Viking.” This chick was really starting to push all my buttons. I knew that's what she was hoping for, that I would fly off the handle at her. “Give me your kingdom and your son and you may go on your way.” Sheba was not backing down. “Do you really want to shed all this blood.”
“Yours? Yes I do, but I think my wife wants to see your blood more than I.” One of her vampires sprung toward me. I swung my sword around and beheaded him before he could touch me. “She is quick. I might have misjudged what I am up against here.” She backed up into the night and was gone. Eric started after her and I grabbed his arm. “That's what she wants, she has a trap laid out. She is counting on your need to fight.” “Pam, follow her and report what you find. Alex, you need to feed so you can heal.” Eric and I, with the kids, turned toward the door. We went in and Eric paced back and forth. He wanted the fight. “You two, to the safe room now.” I ordered them. I grabbed Eric’s hand and pulled him to the steps. Adel and Leif got up and went toward the kitchen. “You are coming with me.” I looked up in his eyes. The look on his face was that of surprise. I never ordered Eric to do anything and he didn't like it, but he followed me up the steps. I pushed him down on the bed. “Well dear, if you can’t have a battle right now will I do?” “You smell of blood and it is smeared on you.” His eyes were glowing “You look like my Valkyrie. I do remember saying I wanted to fuck you in that.” “As do I,” I was standing over him on the bed I lifted the skirt and pulled my panties down. Eric ripped them off and pulled me down to his face. I was trying to stay on my knees as he licked my folds and pushed his fingers in and out I was moaning. He bit and drank from my thigh; he growled and could not control himself. He flipped me over on my back and pulled me to the edge of the bed. He pulled his pants down and pulled me to him. It hard and fast and there was nothing but pure lust coming from this coupling. He was taking what was his and enjoying it. He came and I was still lying on the bed. He pulled his pants up and sat on the bed next to me. He pulled up his shirt, pulled a small knife out of his pocket, made a small cut on his chest right below his nipple and I drank. Chapter 9

We got up and went back downstairs. Eric was still on edge, but he could, at least, focus on things other than the fight. Pam came back. “They are holed up at the warehouse on the outskirts of town. Sookie you know the one I mean, the witches used it.” Alcide and Quinn came in the door. “The packs are ready Eric.” Alcide said. I walked over to Quinn, “Where is your mom?” He looked down at me “I know she is safe” “Who are you fighting for Quinn?” I was not backing down to him. I was staring directly into his eyes. “You Sookie, I’m fighting for you.” He grabbed me and kissed me. Eric flew into a rage. “OK Pussycat, it’s time for you to die.” Eric had his sword out. I crossed over to him and put my hand on his chest he looked at me, I grabbed him and I kissed him I grabbed his free hand and pushed it up my leg. I was doing this so everyone in the room knew that I was Eric’s. “After the battle. I need you to be at full strength for this tonight,” I whispered in his ear. “Quinn, I think you need to start trying to go after Pam she is the one that is into pussies around here.” Eric was not going to stop trying to make Quinn attack. “I don’t do cats not my taste.” Pam said. Her fangs are out. “Where are Leif and Adel?” Pam asked “Here we are.” Adel said as they walked back into the room. Adel walked over to Quinn and looked at him. “I can help you get her out of your head if you would like, at least then I know you would leave my mother in peace.” “She is under my skin.” Adel placed her hand on Quinn’s shoulder and you could feel the magic vibrating around. She gently led Quinn outside to his car and she came back to the house and closed the door. There was a knock at the door. I answered it “Hello, Quinn.” He hugged me in a friendly way, “I have gotten as many of the packs from around the country on the way.” He nodded to Eric. “Sookie, you look great. I wish we could be seeing each other under happier times.” He walked over to Alcide and started talking with him. Calvin Norris was standing at the door as well and I said hello to him. “Now that we are here, let’s get this planned out. We are running out of night time hours and the vampires must be in shelter no later than four at this time of year.” “Alex, you and Tina are to stay with the kids.” The plans were made and we headed out. We pulled out the corvette tonight since Alex was taking the truck. I hopped out of the car to the location that Eric and I would attack from. I spotted Amelia. I walked over to her. “What are you doing here? You should be at home, you're pregnant.” “You are going to talk to me about fighting while pregnant? I’m here to work spells for you. Octavia is over on the other side of the building.” I gave her a hug and told her to be careful and to stay back. I walked back by Eric's side. “Ready, Lover?” He pulled me to him, kissed me and then gave out his battle cry. Everyone rushed the building and Vampires came out of the building after us. Sheba was ready for us, but we knew that she was. I opened my shields so I could keep an idea of where everyone was. Eric was next to me. He had already cut the heads off two vampires. His bloodlust was strong and he was enjoying the fight. I was hit from behind and my head was spinning. I was trying to see what or who had hit me. I was trying to clear my head. I felt a hand grab my elbow. “Are you ok?” Eric steadied me “I’m fine, just a hit in the head.” I looked at him. “That was Sheba.” He spun back around to face the next attacker. His sword spun around and in one seamless motion cut his foe in two. I was again being attacked, so I brought my sword up and defended myself from the blow of another’s sword at me. I was trying to keep this really big vampire from cutting me. Eric spun to me hearing and feeling my struggle. He stabbed the vampire in the throat over my head the vampire staggered back and I took the opportunity to cut off his head. We looked around and there were not many attackers left, but Sheba was no where to be seen. Leif, Adel, Alex and Tina came over by us. I looked over the kids. Besides some cuts, they were fine. I sighed with relief. “Where do you think she went?" I looked at Eric. “I don’t know, but we have to get home, the sun is about to rise.” Pam walked over with a big smile on her face “I do love a good fight.” She said as we all headed to the cars. We walked into the house. Leif and Adel were there. “Shower then into bed you two, right now.” I said. I was exhausted, but I needed to shower before I climbed into bed. I climbed up the steps to our room. The bed was calling my name. I walked into the closet and started to take off my armor. Eric was leaning against the door frame drinking a True Blood. “I love having you fight by my side.” I smiled at him. I knew that we still had to find Sheba and deal with her. I am really hoping that she is licking her wounds on the way back to her home country. “Are we, or can we, go to Tribunal with charges against Sheba?” I asked “I would rather just kill her, but if she doesn't attack again, that's what we'll have to do.” Eric looked disappointed about this. “You know, even though you are Queen, you cannot come with me to a Tribunal.” I nodded my head. I pulled on a pale blue silk night gown. I walked over to the bed and climbed in. Eric got undressed down to his boxer briefs and climbed in next to me. I started to giggle and could not stop. “What is so humorous to you right now?” “I’m wondering, now that you're a daywalker, does that mean you are going to be awake all the time? And thinking how much everyone in the kingdom is going to hate the constant messages from you while they are sleeping.” I couldn't stop laughing, thinking of Pam’s face as she awoke to a bunch of messages left on her cell. “I'm really not sure how this will work, if I will only require downtime as you always put it or if I will really sleep. I don't feel tired right now, but that could be from the battle and bloodust from tonight.” He looked down at me, "You need to rest, dear one." He kissed my forehead and pulled me to him. I fell asleep. When I woke up the next day, Eric was lying right next to me, stone still and asleep. Well, that answers that question I guess. I looked at the clock it was 2:30 in the afternoon. I felt a lot better but I still needed to take a shower. The moment I tried to move his arm from around me he pulled me back to him. “I’m not ready to get up yet,” he whispered to me. “I need to get up Eric,” I giggled. “For what, I don’t hear the kids stirring yet, and it just feels nice to lay with you.” He kissed me. “I want to take a shower and get things together. You have to figure out if you can find Sheba and what her plan is, too.” “Lover, why can we not just enjoy a few moments together?” He was on top of me looking into my eyes. I could feel that even if Eric was saying he was not awake yet, other parts of him sure were up and ready to go. “You have a one-tract mind.” “No, I think of lots of other things, but this is definately one of my favorite things. Now, are you going to take the night gown off or do I have to rip it from your body?” I pushed him and he rolled off of me. I went to get out of bed and Eric pulled me back to him, “I don’t remember giving you a choice of getting up.” He was now kissing the back of my neck. “Or if you'd like, I could carry you down by the lake, and continue this there.” He whispered in my ear. “You need to stop.” “Why? Your body doesn't want me too.” His hand was already busy with my nub. “I’ll ask you one more time, are you taking off the night gown or am I ripping it off.” Before I could even answer it was ripped off my body. “You took too long.” He growled into my mouth. “I am going to enjoy our first real morning together.” He was saying as he trailed kisses down my chest, he settled on my breast and his tongue was working magic on me. I was panting and so ready for him to enter me I parted my legs for him. “Ok, your right we should get up and get going.” He hopped out of bed and pressed a button on the wall that moved the steel panels to open the windows. I was lying on the bed with my mouth wide open. “You tease.” I sat up and threw a pillow at him. The sun was out it was a clear day and I gasped seeing Eric silhouetted in the sunshine of the window. His hair looked like threads of gold flowing down past his neck. He was looking at me, the sun streaming onto the bed. “I never thought I would get to see you in the sunlight again, and now here you lying in the sun, naked on my bed.” His eyes kept looking over me hungrily. “I never missed the sunshine until I met you.” He walked over to the bed, slipped off his boxer briefs, pulled me up into his arms I wrapped my legs around his waist, he slid into me. He groaned and fell on to the bed on top of me. He made it long and sweet, there was no rushing to this moment because we both wanted to remember it. We lay there, tangled in each other for a while not saying a word just enjoying the sun down on us. I started to laugh again. “What is it?” I could not stop laughing. I was always a sun person I love to lay out and bake myself to have a beautiful tan. Eric was as white and pale as you would expect a 1000 year old vampire to be. “I need to go get sun block for you or you will look like a lobster after about two minutes walking in the sun,” it was more funny to me than him. I could not stop laughing over the idea of a red Eric. “I wonder how strong they make it, I don’t believe they have one that is made for a vampire.” Again I was laughing, “Sookie my dear you might have just come up with a brilliant idea.” “What, vampire sun block? I don’t see many vampires willing to line up to test that stuff out.” “But it is an idea.” “Anyway vampires cannot move in daylight hours unless under duress, so what good would it do.” “Think about in Rhodes if we would have had that to put on vampires that could not get cover it would have added protection to them.” He shrugged his shoulders, "Just a thought." “Well, we don’t know what it is about the sunlight that causes you to burn, so unless it's the UV rays, sunblock won’t work.” I stood up from the bed and headed to the bathroom. I took my shower as I got out Eric went in. I picked out a pale pink bra and panty set and put on a white little sun dress that showed my tan off really well. Eric walked in behind me and grabbed out his normal jeans and a t-shirt.



Chapter 10

We head downstairs. I brewed a pot of coffee. Eric grabbed out a trueblood. Adel came down the steps next “I don’t know if I’m going to get used to having Dad awake when I wake up.” She kissed him on the cheek got a glass of orange juice and sat at the island next to Eric. “Tell me Adel, what is it that you did to Quinn last night that made him forget about Mom.” Eric looked at her. “I replaced all his memories of ever being with Mom and he only remembers her as being with you.” I blushed at the thought of her seeing those memories. Eric started to chuckle as he felt my embarrassment through the bond. “So how long have you known about this gift and when did you discover you had it.” “After the night that you threw Nick out of the house, after you read his thoughts and his true plans for the night.” “I see.” He paused, thinking about that night “Well if he would have been truthful with me I might not have had to throw him out.” “Sure Dad. He was going to tell you that he had no intentions of actually taking me out to a movie. I had to make sure he didn't remember you breaking his arm so I made him remember he did it in a football game.” Eric shook his head, “I would've liked for him to keep the memory of your terrifying father.” “Oh and I guess you were any better than any other male at that age, right dear.” I said with a smile. Eric smiled back.“I’m going to go get dressed now and see what I have to do for school today.” She was bouncing up stairs again. Eric looked over to me “Let’s just say there were probably a lot of men that were disappointed to find that their new brides were not virgins like they had thought. Another reason for me not to trust any man around my daughter.” I laughed, “I wonder what's taking Leif so long, he's usually up by now.” I walked over to the steps and went up to his room. The door was only open a crack and I knocked before I walked in to find an empty room. “ERIC!” I screamed. Leif’s window was wide open and the screen was gone. Eric and Adel cam running into the room. Eric took a deep breath in,“Sheba.” I crumpled to the ground. Tears were streaming down my face. The sun that was out earlier was gone. The sky grew cloudy as I was not going to hold anything back. “Mom, please calm down!” Adel was helping me off the floor. Eric was in the room going over everything, trying to find some clue. I ran over to my room and grabbed my phone. “Alcide? I need the Trackers, Leif has been taken.” “I will go with them to find Leif; as soon as we know anything I will call you.” Eric held my shoulder, looking me in the eyes. I was crying. Eric pulled me to him and picked me up “You need to rest. We will find Leif. You know I will not let anything happen to our son.” He kissed my forehead as he sat me down on the bed. I could see tears in his eyes, his rage was growing inside and coming through the bond. It was almost more than I could bear. He was trying to keep it from the bond, but it was coming through. I felt myself being swept away in his rage, and I needed to get away from his anger. The familiar bright light engulfed me. When my eyes adjusted I was in the other realm. I knew I would find Odin here, but I would also find Claudine who could help me get my son back. I knew Eric and the trackers would find them, but I could get him home and out of danger faster than anything. I looked up and there was a familiar figure walking toward me. “Bill?” I called to him as he got closer to me. “Sookie.” I felt shivers up and down my spine. “How are you here?” I asked as I reached out to touch his face to make sure I was not dreaming. “And what are you doing here?” “It seems I was honored for my sacrifice.” He pulled me into a hug. I started to cry. I missed Bill so much and I never got to thank him for all that he did for me, but I did not have the time to have any talks with him right now. I had to figure out how to find Leif. “Bill, Leif has been taken by Sheba, I have to get him back.” “I know Sookie, everyone is on alert here over this situation.” He looked deep in my eyes. “I am here to help you. Claudine will come as soon as she knows what door needs to be opened.” There was no more room between our bodies. “I had hoped you would come here to this plane, so I could see you again.” He grabbed my hand and I really didn't know how to react. My heart and head were yelling at me about how much I loved Eric, but my body was remembering my first time ever and that was with the man that was now standing in front of me. “So, we stay here until Claudine arrives?” “Yes.” His arm went around my waist and he pulled me to him and kissed me. “Bill, I can’t.” I pushed away. I looked him in the eye “You still love him.” He spat these words at me like they were something disgusting. “Yes I do. I love him more today than I did all those years ago.” I felt anger and rage through the bond. I knew Eric was close to finding Leif. “I was hoping this could be our place to be together.” He looked longingly in my eyes. It was a nice thought, but not one I could think about at the time that my son was in danger and my husband was at risk trying to find him. I was hit by a pain so incredible I fell into Bill’s arms. “Someone is hurting Leif.” I screamed out in pain. Claudine popped in right in front of me. “Eric has found Leif, come on.” She grabbed my hand and popped to another place. “Are you ready?” She asked. “Yes.” “I will open the door, grab Leif, then I will take you two home.” “What about Eric?” I looked at her. “He will have to fight Sheba. There is no way we will be able to stop him. He is lost to his anger and bloodlust right now. He will not be satisfied until he has her blood.” Tears ran down my face as I nodded to Claudine. The door opened, I walked thru. The door across the room burst open. I looked up, “Eric!” I cried out. His eyes were filled with pure hate and anger. He looked more like an animal than the man I loved. He came toward me, sword at the ready. “Eric!” I screamed. I looked at him. His fangs were fully extended and he had blood all over him. He pulled me into a kiss, my knees went weak from the power of this man. He was in battle mode and full of bloodlust. I tried to push away to talk and he growled at me. “You smell of fairy.” His eyes went dark he pushed me away from him “and Bill” I walked toward him. “Stay away from me, woman.” He turned to Leif who was tied with sliver chains, they don’t burn him but they do make him weaker. “Woman, get him home.” Eric’s rage was unbearable. He has been angry with me many times thru the years, but he had never wanted me dead, he did right now. At this moment he could not believe I was his greatest weakness. “I will deal with you later. I have another bitch that must die.” He walked out of the room and left me to deal with our son that was fully enraged over the pain and deep cuts he had all over him. We had no way to escape. He was in a full on bloodlust himself and wanted blood to heal his wounds. I stepped towards him “Leif, it's Mom, I’m going to untie you and get you home.” He didn't recognize me. He kept snapping his jaws at me. I knew I was not going to get control of him. I needed his father. “Leif, listen to me if you want to go home you have to calm down.” I was getting more and more angry and being fed Eric’s anger thru the bond was not helping me. I pulled at one of the chains to free him. I didn't move my hand quick enough and Leif bit me. I slapped him hard across the face. He stared at me. “Mom?” “Yes, now we must go.” I helped him go thru the door. Claudine was there with a glass of the same blood I had given Eric from Frigg. “Leif, drink this, it will heal you faster than anything else.” He grabbed it and drank it down. Claudine opened another door Leif and I walked into the living room where Alex and Adel were fighting five vampires. Alex and Adel were back to back moving in unison. The blades were moving almost too fast for me to see, Two heads came toward me and landed by my feet. Leif was not ready to fight. I pushed him toward the stairs. All went quiet behind me. I spun around to see what was going on. Alex and Adel were in a full blown kiss. Alex’s hand moved down to her waist and started to pull at her shirt. I cleared my throat. They both looked over at me and Adel blushed. “Yep. Mom is right here.” At that moment I was in so much pain across my chest, I dropped to my knees. Alex came over and picked me up “It’s Eric he's hurt bad.” Tears were falling from my eyes. I never thought I wouldn't see Eric again, and now, this time he didn't want to come home to me. I would never even get the chance to talk to him. I screamed out in pain again. I was feeling every blow Eric took. Alex laid me on the couch. Leif and Adel came over by me kneeling in front of the couch. “If he dies she might die too, there bond is too great.” Alex was sitting with my head on his lap stroking my hair to keep me as calm as he could. I looked up at him. “You will keep them safe.” My arm just had a shot of pain. “Yes.” He looked right in my eyes. I screamed in pain again then there was nothing.



Chapter 11

“Adel, take Alex and Leif to the safe room. And stay there.” I ordered and they listened. I knew if Sheba had killed Eric she would be come here next. I got up. It hurt so bad. I made it to the weapon room and grabbed my sword. I saw a huge bruise on my leg, I could tell I had another on my chest and my left arm. I waited until I heard someone coming up to the door. I crossed over to the door and had the sword ready. Pam came through the door helping Eric in the house and over to the couch. He was hurt badly and he didn't have his shirt on. There was a deep gash across his perfect chest, his left arm was ripped open and his leg looked as if something had bit him. “Where are MY kids?!” He hissed at me without looking at me. “The safe room.” I said. “Pam, take them to the loft I must deal with her.” Pam bowed and left. Adel and Leif came into the room and went to their father. “Daddy, you're hurt.” “I will heal and you two are now safe.” He was so soft with her, he kissed her hand. “Now, please go.” Pam and Alex were looking at me as if it might be the last time they saw me. They left, closing the door behind them. Eric was up and pushing me to the wall. “I should kill you for your betrayal. I always knew you had a soft spot for Compton, but you wished him to live in the realm so you could have him.” He was looking in my eyes. “I did not betray you.” I tried to move but I was pinned. Every time I moved Eric pushed harder. “You lied to me when yoo said Compton was dead.” “Eric he is in that realm for saving my life. This was the first time I'd seen him.” I was crying. He walked away as he did he punched the wall with his right hand and put a hole in the wall. “Eric, he pulled me to him and kissed me I pushed away and told him I loved you.” “Was that before or after you were aroused.” He came flying at me and pinned me to the wall. “You are too much trouble woman, and I need to heal.” He bit down on my neck hard, I felt tearing. I yelled out in pain but did not move or try to get away from him “I love you Mr. Northman.” I said between the tears. The huge cut on his chest was right in my face and I started licking it. I was flooding the bond with my feelings and sending him all my thoughts and memories. The bond opened up for us to feel what we were both feeling and going through. Tears were falling down my face. Eric released his grip from me, I fell to the ground, and I was drained in more ways than one. He never had taken that much blood from me. He kneeled on the ground in front of me. “I could have killed you.” He bit his wrist and put it to my mouth. I drank more from him. He picked me up and took me up stairs and laid me on the bed. I felt his confusion from the bond. I broke down and cried. I couldn't look at him and yet I wanted nothing more than to be in his arms. “When you went to the other realm, I felt nothing. Then the next feeling I had through the bond was arousal.” He sat on the bed not facing me. I wanted to touch his back but I could not bring myself to do it, I was scared he would reject me. “I was already in a fit of rage and I had the feeling of you being aroused be another man drove me over the edge. I should have trusted you, I am truly sorry.” He turned and looked at me his eyes were red and there were faint pink streaks down his face. “Eric I’m sorry that it even happened. I didn't know Bill would be there, I still don’t know how he is. I will never be with any other but you.” “The thing that is most interesting to me, is the time you should not have trusted me not to harm you, you did.” “I knew you wouldn’t.” I pulled his arm to lay with me. He pulled his arm from me, and shook his head. “I can’t lay with you when I hurt you so badly.” He was looking down at my neck. “I want you to. I love you so much. What hurts the most was the thought of losing you.” I sat up and put my head on his chest. “Sookie how can you still love me after what I did to you, I tore your neck.” He bit his finger and started to touch the area where he had bitten me. “You were hurt and enraged; it was not my Eric that did this to me.” I kissed him. “I want to take a shower, would you care to join me?” I stood up and held out my hand to him. He put his hand in mine and I led him into the bathroom. I turned on the shower. I felt two hands on my shoulders, then his hands slipped down to my waist and lifted my dress off of me. I turned to face him. He was looking into my eyes, his eyes were just so unsure of himself. I pulled off his belt and laid it on the counter. I unbuttoned his pants and pulled them down. He stepped out of them. I finished undressing, and led him into the shower. I pulled him to me only to have him step away. He turned me around and washed my hair. He messaged my shoulders. I moaned at his touch and was longing for him to embrace me. I turned to look him in the eye. “I love you and I want you.” He smiled and kissed me it was full of passion, the love that flowed through our bond was intense. His hand ran down my back he pulled me to him. He looked down at me. He seemed not to want to lose this moment the water was falling over our bodies. “You know, you are going to give me a complex if you keep staring at me that way.” He laughed. “How can I not want to stare at you, you are beautiful and I’m not sure what to think of this new found trust you have in me.” I slapped his chest at least he was now starting to come back to himself. “Turn around please.” I said to him. He cocked an eyebrow at me “I want to wash your back for you.” I smiled “No, I think you want to see this.” He turned around and shook his world class butt for me. I squeezed it “You know me too well Mr. Northman.” “I want to know you better now.” He turned and the lust had returned to his eyes. He pulled me to him. Kissed me hard and deep. I moaned with delight. He picked me up and turned off the shower. He carried me back to bed. He laid me down and was on top of me looking down at me. “What? This whole staring and not touching thing is driving me out of my mind.” He laughed “I didn't know it would be so easy.” I was rubbing my hands up and down his chest. I cocked an eyebrow at him, and made him roll over and I looked at him. Starting to kiss his neck, I nipped here and there all the way down to his gracious plenty. I held it in my hand and started to stroke it. I was dancing my tongue over the tip he was moaning and pushing his hips up toward my mouth. I took him into my mouth and let him enjoy after all the years of pure enjoyment he has given me. He started trying to pull me up to him, I pushed him back down and brought myself down on top of him. We moved our hips in unison. I was moaning his name he was playing with my breast. We both climaxed together. I fell on top of him had my head on his chest. “You are an amazing woman, Mrs. Northman.” He kissed me on top of the head. I tipped my chin onto his chest and looked him in the eye. “You are amazing too, just remember I am Mrs. Northman, I am all yours.” We drifted off to sleep. I have never felt more loved and more secure, than when I was in my Viking's arms.
