Come into my web little fly.Bill Synopsis: Story takes place immediately after Eric returns Jessica to Bill.

Rating: NC-17 for language and explicit sex scene.

CHAPTER ONE:

Closing the door on Eric and Pam, not being able to express my true feelings and then seeing that creature, that thing that I was forced to "make" sitting on my couch. What have I done to deserve this?

It had only been a few short weeks since I was able to escape my "punishment" and return to MY Sookie. I, at first, couldn't explain what I had to do to return to her. That damn dog had his hands all over her, my temper flared, and I saw blood. His blood, flowing freely and generously. I could have killed him, I wanted to kill him. Only Sookie, her voice so angry and defiant, was able to pierce through my blood lust and bring me to my senses. And after, when I returned to her, healed, I couldn't tell her then.

It was only last night, after we had made love, did she ask me the one question she had been wanting to ask for such a long time. "Why didn't you come when you knew I was in trouble? Or at least call?".

I had to tell her, then. I knew that she deserved the truth. I told her everything about that night and that awful moment when I did the one thing I had vowed I would never do. I told her about becoming a "maker", how it made me feel, how I dreaded the girl who would come out of the ground. All of this I told her, and she looked at me amazed. "Where is she now?" was all she said.

"With Eric, he agreed to take her from me. I had to get back to you!".

"Oh.". was all she said, before laying her head on my chest and falling asleep.

And now, Jessica, all cleaned and polished, looking like a reject from a Brittney Spears video, fangs extended, giggling, is sitting on my couch. What am I going to do?

"What happened, I thought you were happy with Eric?"

"Pam is such a bitch, do you know that she actually wanted me to work? I mean really.".

What did she want you to do?" gritting my teeth, locking my jaw so I don't loose control.

"She wanted me to work in the gift shop. Gross. Only the tourist and the nerds stop by there. I wanted to dance on the tables. Let the guys get a real look at me."

"Is that right?" Anger flowing from my voice, my fangs starting to extend.

"Yeah, and when I complained to Eric, he said that I had to listen to her. I am through with that Bullshit. I am my own Vampire!"

"And how do you think you will survive? I mean no job, no money.".

She doesn't answer right away, "Well. . . you could take care of me.".

My fangs are fully extend at this point, I am just about to tell her what I really think when it hits me. Sookie is terrified. "Don't go anywhere!" I yell as I start out the door.

I know that I could make it to Merllote's in the same amount of time if I ran, but the general population doesn't need to know just how fast we are. I am doing almost 80mph when I come to the turn off to the bar. Flashing lights and the coroners van tell me that an other murder has happened in Bon Temp. I see Sookie talking to Sheriff Dearbourne, holding on to Tara for dear life. They are both crying. I pull the car over and run, at normal human speed, to Sookie. Her face, stained with tears, says it all. The dead person is someone she knows.

"Bill, oh god. . . It's Lafayette.".

"What happened?" I ask her. She then tells me how she and Tara followed Andy Bellfluer out to the parking lot and how Lafayette was found in Andy's car. She continues to cry. Just behind her Sam Merlotte is talking to Mike Spencer, the coroner. Tara is crying and shaking and not saying anything. Andy Bellfluer, obviously drunk is sitting on the ground with his head in his lap. The whole scene is chaos and all I can think of is to take Sookie out of there.

"Can I go now?" Sookie asked Sheriff Dearbourne. "I need to make sure Tara gets home okay."

"That's okay, Sook. I can call Maryanne, she'll pick me up." Tara lets go of Sookie. I slip in to put my arm around her. She grabs me by the waist and clutches me tight. If I were human she would have squeezed the breath out of me, as it was I just pull her tightly to me and start rubbing her back.

"Why do people I know keep getting killed?" I hear her say, barely a whisper. It is rhetorical question, one I had myself not a minute ago.

"I want to go.", she continued. My cue to say something to get her out of there.

"Sheriff, does Sookie really need to be here?", I ask.

"I guess not.", answers, his voice cracking just a bit. I chuckle inside to the fact that I still make him nervous,"We may need to talk to you tomorrow, though.", Sheriff Dearbourne says to Sookie, avoiding my eyes.

"Take me to your house, I want to be with you for as long as I can.", Sookie says when we are finally in the car on our way out of the parking lot.

"I can stay as long as you need me to at your house.", I reply, knowing that the situation at my home will only make her angry.

"I want to stay at your house, in your bed. Take a bath in your bathroom, sleep in one of your shirts. I NEED that right now.". And with that the discussion is over. Sookie is coming to my house. Lord, Help me.

CHAPTER TWO:

The drive to my home is silent. Sookie just keeps looking out the window. I cannot even tell if she notices that I am driving below the speed limit. But eventually we get to the Parish road that leads to both of our homes and then to the long drive that lead to my home. I cannot put this off any longer. We are at my house.

I put the car in park, shut off the engine, and sit. Sookie turns and looks at me, her eyes tired and troubled. "Thank you.", she says.

"For what?", I reply.

"Just thank you.", is all she says. I feel the love, the deep and undeniable love that comes from her and I smile. Sookie reaches for the door release and I am out of the car and opening her door before she completes the action. "You know I think that is kinda creepy when you do that."

"Sorry, I know. But a gentleman always opens a ladies door.", I answer, giving her my hand.

"That's not the creepy part.", she says as she swings her legs from the car, taking my hand and rising.

I listen for any sound of Jessica in the house before I start walking up the stairs to open the front door. I hear nothing. Sookie just climbs the stairs and gives a big yawn. "I guess you will be going to bed then?", hoping my question sound innocent enough.

"I need a bath and then, who knows?". Her answer, her voice, and her eyes are all inviting.

"I see, you still wish to celebrate?", I say, my ears open for any sound of the intruder.

"Well if we could go in the house, then maybe. . .", her voice trailing off, full of promise. Sookie has become quite the little sex kitten, I think to myself, not unpleased with that fact.

I open the door and quickly scan the rooms from the entry hall. Nothing, no Jessica. She probably has taken off and is causing mayhem somewhere, but I won't deal with that until tomorrow. Right now, it is all about Sookie. "Upstairs, young lady. I will be along shortly.", I tell her as I head into the living room, just to check.

"Yes, Lieutenant Bill.", Sookie says and gives me a quick salute. "I will report to the bathroom immediately.". She turns on her heels and runs upstairs.

A quick scan of the bottom floor reveals that Jessica is no where in the house. I relax a bit and head upstairs. I can hear the water already filling the tub in the big bathroom. When I enter the bathroom I see that Sookie is just standing there, watching the water rise in the tub. "Is something wrong?", I ask.

"No, just want your help getting ready for my bath.", her eyes burning with promise.

"Then allow me.", I answer and I begin to take off her Merrlot's uniform. First the shirt, then the shorts, shoes and socks next. When I reach around her to unclasp her bra, find it has none.

"It's in the front, silly.", and I see that and undo the clasp in the front, releasing her breasts from their cloth prison. Sookie looks up at me. I lean into her and press my lips to hers. It is a long kiss, probing and deep. She is giving herself totally to me. My hands begin to roam freely over her beautiful, beautifully tanned body. Slowly they reach her underpants, and I slide them off her. A low moan come from deep within her throat. The sound is wonderful to my ears.

"Bath time.", she says playfully, after pulling away from our kiss. Her eyes dancing. She leans to turn off the water, and over her shoulder she says, "You can scrub my back for me, kind sir.".

I lift her into my arms and gently place her in the tub. Damn it, my shirt sleeves are wet. "Got to take this off. Be right back.", I say. She leans back into the tub, I feel most of the tension leave her body. "Hurry back.", is her reply. Wild horses couldn't keep me away, I think to myself as he head into my bedroom.

Even with Vampire speed, I don't think I couldn't move any faster. My shirt is off me before I reach the bedroom, and I even grab some extra towels from the hall closet before I return to the bathroom. Nothing could have prepared me for the scene I see on my return. Sookie lying so at ease in the tub, not a single worry coming from her now, and Jessica kneeling closely over her, fangs out and getting closer to her neck.

I move faster than I have ever moved before. I grab Jessica by the arm, yank her head away, clamp my hand over her mouth, and sprint out of the room. We are downstairs so quickly that I don't think Jessica has a moment to think. She doesn't start to fight back until we are in the living room. "What the fuck.", she gasps when I finally remove my hand from her mouth, and she twists out of my grip.

"What do you think you were doing?", I say through gritting teeth and fully extended fangs.

"I am hungry, and since you brought dinner home, I thought I would take a bite.", Jessica says, playing coy. The tone in her voice is playful, but forced. I can see that she knows from the look on my face, the tone of my voice, and of course the fangs she is treading on some pretty dangerous ground.

"She is mine. You have no rights here, concerning her or anything. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?", my voice very low and very forceful.

"Yeah, whatever.", she replies, and waves her hand at me.

"I don't think you quite understand me.", I say to her, grabbing her arm, turning her so she faces me. "I have killed for Sookie before, and would not think twice about doing it again. I have even killed a vampire to protect her. So do not think for one second that it would stop me from killing you.".

"Yeah. . . Well, I think Eric would have something to say about that.", the fear in her voice, finally coming out.

"You don't know where we are, do you?", I say. Jessica just shakes her head at me. "We are in Bon Temps. The parish where they have openly killed vampires. All I have to do is tell Eric that I couldn't make you behave and that you made the wrong person angry, and oh well I am really very sorry."

Jessica's eyes become wide and fearful. "You would do that? But you made me. . . Daddy!", the last word oozing with sarcasm.

"You are punishment. That is all you mean to me! I said I killed a vampire to protect her. You are the consequence of that action. So if you think I have any feelings for you, think again. Wait, I do have a feeling for you. Disgust.", my voice so low, so filled with rage that if she wasn't a vampire, she could not have heard it.

"Bill, are you coming back?" Sookie says from the bathroom. "In a minute.", I reply. "Stay here. And DO NOT MOVE!", I say to Jessica, who seems to be frozen in place by fear. I quickly climb the stairs and find Sookie still in the same position I left her in, just moments before.

"I still need my back scrubbed.", Sookie says, holding out the sponge.

I take the sponge from her hand. "Is that all that needs scrubbing?", I say as I kneel behind her.

"For now.", she replies, leaning forward.

CHAPTER THREE

I begin scrubbing Sookie's back. The soapy sponge glides easily over her skin. I drop the sponge in the water and move my hands to her neck and begin to kneed her shoulders. "Oh yeah.", Sookie says, low and breathy.

"Like that, do you?", I say.

"Yes, but I feel tight in other places, too."

"Where else?", I ask, playing along with the little game. Sookie and I often play this game. Her being coy.

"You will have to just find out.", she answers, turning her head to me.

"Here?", I ask my hands wrapping around her to cup her breasts.

"That's one place.", she says. Her lips very close to mine. I kiss her softly. She moves her tongue against my lips, and they part. She continues to move her tongue over my teeth, and my fangs begin to extend.

"Enough!", I say, almost croaking the word. I lift her up in the tub under her arms and then out of the tub completely. Dripping water from her body leaves a trail from the bathroom to the bedroom and I place her, almost toss, on the bed. I quickly take off my shoes, socks, and pants. Sookie just looks at me, waiting. I enter her, easily.

There are no words as we make love, there rarely are. Just heavy breathing or slight moaning. We move to a slow rhythm at first. Arms, legs, lips, tongues all intertwining slowly and smoothly. I shift my body slightly and I begin to feel the tightening of her body below me. She begins to moan heavier. Sookie is getting close to climax. I raise my head to gaze into her eyes. She is very close. I fully extend my fangs and then bring them down just under her left breast. I very rarely, if ever, bite her on the neck. After our first time making love and my fully drinking of her blood, my teeth marks on her neck caused her problems amongst her friend and since then I have been careful not to leave visual marks on her.

I suck. Her blood flows into my mouth and down my throat. Her taste, the richness, the fullness, the sweetness of it makes me forget for just a moment of the life below me. I continue to suck. The realization of her below me and the starting of my own orgasm bring me back to the moment. I pull my mouth from her and my body begins to surge with my own climax. I groan and continue to move forcefully to bring her to hers. Her fingers dig into my back as she reaches her orgasm and moans the only word of the entire encounter, "Yes!".

We lay, still entwined to each other, side by side on the bed. Our legs and arm still wrapped around each other. Her breathing, beginning to slow, is hot on my face. I kiss her, my fangs having retracted, softly and slowly. She smiles at me, and buries her head against my chest. No words. Nothing needs to be said. Having recovered, her breathing is slow and steady, normal. In minutes Sookie is asleep wrapped in my arms, content.

I wait a full 15 minutes after to move, slowly so not to wake her, from the bed. I pull on my pants and grab a t-shirt from my drawer and pull it on. I look at her as I leave the room. She is sleeping soundly.

I walk down the stairs and see that Jessica, surprisingly, has not left the living room. She is looking at the mantle of my fireplace, running her fingers over the the fixtures on it. I step on a creaky stair and she quickly turns around. At the sight of me, she rushes to the couch and sits down, her back ridged and her hands in her lap. It is position that I know well. I have seen Sookie sit like that when she is tense and it is a position that strict church schools put the children in when they are being punished. Jessica's words come back to me, "No more father, no more belt.". I feel a slight pang of regret for the situation we find ourselves in now.

"Get up.", I say to her. She obeys. "Come with me.", I gesture to the back door. Through the kitchen, I grab a set of keys from a rack on the cupboard. I open the door and move my hand, indicating for Jessica to walk through. She walks through the door. She is looks at me with questioning eyes, but doesn't say a word.

We begin walking towards the parish road. Jessica is a step behind me. The walk, with our vampire speed, takes only a few minutes. We enter the parking lot of Merlotte's. The only cars in the lot are Sam's Jeep and Sookie's yellow Gremlin. The police cars, and coroner's van have left. I see that Sam's lights in his trailer are on. "Wait here.", I tell Jessica, and she stands frozen in place.

I walk up the stairs to Sam's front door, and hear a t.v. on. I knock. Sam answers. "What?", he practically shouts, after seeing that it is me.

"I'm getting Sookie's car. Just wanted to let you know."

"Fine.", the irritation in his voice is profound. "How is she?".

"Sleeping.", is the only answer I give him. I turn from the trailer door and move down the stairs into the parking lot. I can hear Sam mumbling under his breath, cursing the day I came to the bar and got involved with Sookie. He adds a few choice expletives for me. I hear the trailer door shut and the t.v. volume go up.

I find Jessica in the same spot I left her in. I grab her arm and move her to Sookie's car. I open the passenger side door and shove her in. I walk around the car to the drivers side door and get in. I put the key in the ignition and wait. "Where are we going?", she asks.

"I am just thinking of where to put you tonight. You are NOT sleeping with me.", I tell her.

"EWW! Like I would."

"I meant where I was going to put you to rest.", I say, irritated.

"Oh. Eric had me rest that first night in a broom closet. Boy was that uncomfortable.", she says.

"Well prepare to be uncomfortable again. I don't have a broom closet, but there is a small pantry in the kitchen. You can stay there tonight. Until I figure out other arrangements.".

"You mean I am staying with you?", she asks.

"I have no choice.", is all I say. I start the car and begin driving back to my home.

The ride back to my home is quick and quiet. I glanced over a few time at Jessica, during the drive to see her simply sitting with her eyes looking out the window. When I pull into my drive way two things happen. First, I could start feeling the pull of the sun. Vampires know when the sun is going to rise, we feel it long before we see it. Second, Jessica just sits in the car as if waiting for instructions. "In the house, young lady.", I say, trying to sound more paternal than forceful, I don't know if I succeeded.

Jessica exits the car and heads up the stairs. I know we had maybe an hour before the sun comes up and that would be plenty of time to get her situated. I open the door, I gesture for her to head into the kitchen. The pantry is small and when I first moved in I considered putting my "resting" spot in it, but then I found the storage space under the stairs. Also, when I first moved it, the pantry was filled with can food and other food items. It has several shelves and very little space. Maybe, I think, if I rip out the shelves and place a trap door in the floor. . . my thoughts trail off. First things first. "We will figure something out tomorrow.", I say to Jessica, as I guide her into the small cramped space. She crotches on the floor and I grab the table cloth off the kitchen table and drape it over her. I then close the door and see that there is about a 1/4 inch of space between the floor and the door, so I place towels in the space to ensure that no sunlight gets in. She is secure.

I then run upstairs and check on Sookie, I feel her sleeping and hear her breathing deeply. She is content. I then go into the big bathroom and drain the tub of the now cold water and wipe up the residual water left on the floor. I go back into the bedroom, take off my clothes and take a shower in the smaller bathroom. I dry myself and change into some fresh clothes. I gather up mine and Sookies discarded clothes and place them in the hamper. I set out the silk robe that I bought for her, which she probably won't use since she told me she likes sitting around in my shirts, and a fresh Merlotte's uniform for her. She keeps several fresh uniforms and clothes here for just this type of occasion. I take one last long look at Sookie, bend over and kiss her cheek, and head downstairs to my "resting" place. "No one else knows where I rest.", I remember telling Sookie after the first night we made love, after showing it to her. I climb in and then bolt the trap door. I am secure, not content, but secure.

CHAPTER FOUR:

The setting sun begins to pull me from my rest. A quick check of my watch tells me that I still have time before the sun completely sets. My mind begins to race over all the things that I have to do tonight, all concerning Jessica. The events of last night have changed my plans dramatically, for one I cannot have Sookie move in just yet, and for another my plans to convert the kitchen space will have to be altered. How am I going to tell Sookie that I am now responsible for Jessica? How am I going to explain that I cannot abandon her, for the punishment would be even harsher than the one that "made" Jessica.

While I am contemplating my options, the sun completely sets. I unbolt my trap door and rise. Jessica, still basically a newborn needs more rest than I do, so I allow her the time. I have something to do anyway. I pull myself from my resting place and unlatch the door to let myself out of the hidden storage space under the stairs. My home is quiet, outside the crickets and frogs are singing their nightly song. I walk upstairs and grab my cell phone and speed dial #4, Fangtasia.

"Fangtasia, where life begins at night.", a voice on the other end answers.

"This is Bill Compton, I need to speak to Eric, is he available?" I say.

"Mr. Compton, Mr. Northman has not yet arrived yet. May I take a message?", the voice answers.

"Yes. Tell him I will be stopping by later to pick up all of Jessica's things.", I reply.

"Yes. Is there anything else?", the voice comes back, sounding shaky. Curious.

"No, what time do you expect him in?".

"Oh! In fact, sir. Mr. Northman has just arrived. Hold please.", the voice says. There is a short pause. "Bill, you haven't gotten rid of the girl yet, huh?", Eric says, laughter in his voice.

"No.", I say, "Can you have her things ready for me when I get there?".

"They are waiting for you already. Don't rush. I could do without see her again.", Eric says, his voice cold and dangerous. "What did Sookie say about the new addition to your family?", the question filled with underlying inferences.

"Nothing.", is all I say. Eric already has a too unhealthy interest in Sookie and he doesn't need any information he thinks he can use against me. "I'll be by soon.", I say and hang up the phone. If it had been a regular, old fashioned style phone I would have slammed it down and given him an earful, but thanks to modern technology, that action is no longer available, so being short and curt is ones only way to express any kind of anger. I begin to walk into the kitchen to wake up Jessica.

Sleeping newborns do not like to waken, sleep is comforting and if you are not careful, they can sleep the night away and eventually wake up on the verge of starvation. I go to the newly acquired refrigerator and take out two Tru-Bloods, type O neg. Sookie's blood type. Unscrew the caps and put them both in the microwave. I set it for 1 minute 30 seconds and press start. I wait for them to finish heating up. I then take one out of the microwave and go to the pantry, and open the door. There is no movement under the table cloth. I remove the table cloth from the lump that is Jessica and shake her. Her eyes open and she bolts upright. "What. . . ?". she says, I notice her barrings are off.

"Here you go,", I say quickly, placing the bottle in eye shot. "Drink this.".

"What, wha. . . oh yeah. ", I see that her situation is coming back to her. "EWW! Gross, I don''t want that stuff.".

"You drink this or nothing at all!", I inform her, using authority in my voice.

She looks at me for a moment, defiance in her gaze, and then the same compliant stare she gave me last night. She takes the bottle from my hand and drinks. She goes through about half the bottle before she puts it down and says, "Yuck! How do you live on that stuff?".

"I just do.", I begin.

"Yeah, right.", she interrupts. "I know you have that blonde to feed on. This stuff couldn't keep a rat alive.", she says, the defiance creepy back.

"How I survive is none of your business, what is your business now is telling me why Eric doesn't want you back at Fangtasia.", I say to her glaring fully into her eyes. Glamour doesn't really work on Vampires, but you can use the gaze to break down any defenses they put up. Older Vampires, like Eric, use the gaze as a warning to younger Vampires. I myself recently was a recipient of the gaze from him. All it really does is put younger Vampires in there place.

"I may have done a few things to make some people angry with me. . . and Eric. . . and the other Vampires at the club.", Jessica replies, trying to pull herself from my gaze. I say nothing, but she understands that she has to tell me the whole story. "I might have fed on some of the tourist that visit the bar, as opposed to the fangbangers who offer.", her voice trailing off.

"Is that it?", I say, trying to keep the combination of anger and amusement from coming out of my voice.

"No. Eric also found out who my father is. . . was. . .is. Do I still call him my father?".

"And who is he?", not answering the very complicated question.

"Orry Dawson, a Deacon in The Fellowship Of The Sun. My fathers job is to recruit new members and to over see, um, special projects.". Jessica says, keeping her eyes on the floor.

"What kind of projects?", I ask.

"Draining Raids.", she says quickly and flinches as if to prepare of a blow.

Drainers, lately, have been using what are being called Draining Raids to get the "V-juice" that has now become the drug of choice in America. Drainers set up decoys in known Vampire areas to entice the Vampire to take a drink. They then trap the Vampire, somehow, and then drain them, often of every last drop. This leaves a mummified like corps that, unlike death by fire or staking, shrivels to dust and blows away when sunlight hits the body. Until now, no Vampire ever knew who was organizing some of these raids, but The Fellowship was always high on the suspect list.

"And Eric knows this and he still let you go?", it just seemed very odd to me that with that fountain of information Eric would let her leave. Eric is nothing if not ambitious. He even challenged his own "maker" to gain greater power in the Vampire community.

"I overheard Pam and Eric talking one night, before he found out who I was. He said 'She would be perfect to separate her from him', I didn't know who they we talking about. But now, I guess they might have been talking about you and your. . . friend.", Jessica says, finally looking up.

I just stare at her. This creature, this young girl I was forced to make Vampire, was now no longer a thing to be disgusted with. Pity, that is what I feel, pity for her and the circumstances that brought her here. "Did your father send you out on one of these raids?", Jessica simply nods. "And you were taken that night?', Again she nods.

"Come on, we have to go.", I say to her. She looks up at me, questioningly. "We are going to Fangtasia to get your things, and then we are going to go shopping for less. . . um. . . provocative clothing. If you want to fit in here, you need to tone down, just a bit."

The ride to Fangtasia is . . . uneventful. Jessica is not whining or complaining, she seems to just be. I wonder if that is how she reacted to things in her human life, did she just accept what was going on around her, or did she show some of the defiant streak that she showed me the first night of her awakening. I pull into the parking lot of Fantgtasia and turn off the car, "Do you want to come in?", I ask. Jessica simply nods and opens her car door. I exit my car and we both head to the front door of Fangtasia. A bouncer that I have seen before, but don't remember his name is working the door. He is Vampire. He nods to me and then glares at Jessica.

"She is unwelcome here.", the bouncer says, taking his eyes away from Jessica and nodding to another Vampire behind us.

"We will only be a minute.", I tell the bouncer. He is younger than me by about a century. Vampires know ages, not by any kind of smell, but by the amount of energy we project. The younger the Vampire, the lower the energy. No one really knows where the energy comes from, but the speculation is that it comes from, like everything else about us, the blood. Everything about us runs off that blood.

"Alright, if it is only for a minute.", the bouncer says, glancing in my direction. He let's us pass, and I guide Jessica to the rear of the club. As we pass the bar I see that Chow has really taken over Longshadow's role and is the bartender. A nod to Chow and a gesture of his head to the back tells me that Eric is in the office. Jessica is looking around and smiling at all the humans in the club. It is not a friendly smile, but one full of hunger and danger. "Don't make me regret bringing you in here.", I tell Jessica. Immediately she looses the smile, but her eyes are still hungry.

We proceed to the rear office of the club. The door is closed and I knock. "Yes.", the strong, deep voice of Eric comes from behind the door.

"It's Bill Compton.", I reply.

"Enter.". is the only word he says. . . until he sees Jessica. "I told you I don't want to see her again.", Eric says at almost a growl. His eyes filled with anger and his voice the same.

"We are leaving as soon as you give me her things. Unless you need to tell me a few things about her?", I say, leaning my head in Jessica's direction, but not taking my eyes off Eric.

"Such as?", the question is filled with sarcasm and danger.

"Oh like who her father is.", Eric is not used to people, or Vampires giving him attitude, it throws him off balance, and I need every advantage in this room.

"She told you did she? And what else did she tell you?", his gaze fully on Jessica. Jessica shrinks under his gaze.

"Only that her father and his organization may be responsible to the rash of Draining Raids around here, and that you knew about it.", I answer, casually. Eric doesn't need to know what she overheard between him and Pam. "And that her feeding habits are the reason you. . . gave her back.".

I don't know for sure, but Eric seems satisfied with my explanation. I see that he relaxes just an inch. "Yes, she wasn't following the rules. And since she was your. . . punishment to begin with, I thought that you should deal with her. I do not need anymore trouble from the police. Remember Taryn?", Eric asks me. Taryn was a Vampire who fed on a fangbanger the first night I brought Sookie to the club. "Well, she caused a lot of problems for me. Police dropping by every night after that, checking to see if any other Vampires we breaking the law. Our little miss, here,", gesturing to Jessica, " and her feeding problems were unacceptable.".

"Well. . . If you just give me her things, then we will go.", I say to Eric, trying to act bored by the whole situation. Eric pulls a large duffel bag from behind the desk and hands it to me.

"It's her stuff.", I tell him. A moment of confusion and then Eric understands. It's Jessica's stuff, Jessica can carry it. Jessica, who has been quiet and motionless during the whole exchange between Eric and myself, steps up beside me and takes the bag. I nod to Eric, he nods back. I turn Jessica around and lead her out the door of the office, and out the door of Fangtasia. "If I have it my way,", I mumble to myself," That is the last I see of Eric Northman, Sheriff of Area 5.", I know Jessica can hear me and she giggles. I know that I will have future dealing with Eric. Sookie promised to "work" for him, using her talent to help him when he needs her.

I open the trunk of my car and have Jessica place the bag in it. We get into the car and I start driving. The next part I do not want to do, but I know it has to be done. "We are going to the mall.", I tell Jessica. She starts smiling and clapping. Just what I need a road trip to the mall with a happy teenager. Oh Lord.

The Mall is nothing more than a group of shops not far from Fangtasia. these stores have learned that staying open late brings in a "New" brand of clientele. Vampires. The clothing stores in the strip mall range from the latest styles to the more provocative clothing that the fangbanging community thinks that Vampires wear, all leather and vinyl. A store named "Sink Your Teeth", in this mall is one of them, and of course this is the store Jessica first heads to.

"Not on your life young lady.", I say firmly. Gosh I really sound like a father. I grab her arm and head to a store further down the strip. "Ladies First" is the name of the store I choose. The clothing is nice and simple. It reminds me of some of the clothes that I have seen the patrons of Merlotte's wear and that is the image I am trying to instill in Jessica. "But, old people wear this stuff.", Jessica complains.

"If you want to stay with me, this is what you are going to wear.", I answer.

"Who says I want to stay with you.", the defiance coming through again.

"Fine, then go. You have a place to stay? A resting place all picked out for yourself? Or maybe we can help each other?", I say.

"What do you mean?", a confused expression came over her face.

"I have an idea that may help the both of us, but I need your co-operation.", I say, maybe revealing more than I should.

"Whatever.", she says and heads into "Ladies First." This is going to be no fun.

CHAPTER FIVE:

Shopping for Jessica is painful, but we both survive. It takes several times of me saying "No" to outfits that would make a hooker proud before Jessica begins to understand that if I am buying I get to choose. Two hours, five bags and $800.00 later we are back in my car and heading back to Bon Temps. Jessica turns on the radio and turns it to an alternative rock station. I think she is amazed that I don't turn it off. Truthfully, I like all types of music. The drive home is relatively quiet, except when Jessica breaks into song with the music on the radio. To say it is distracting is an understatement, and I think that is the reason that I may have missed the "signal" from Sookie.

What I get from Sookie in general is a vague sense of her, what she is feeling and occasionally what she is doing. Only under times of extreme stress do I get clear and specific signals from her. As I pull into and start up the drive that leads to my home I get a clear signal from Sookie. Anticipation, excitement, and lust. It is too late for me to turn around and go back down the road, I see that the front door is open and Sookie is standing on the front porch. Her face has a broad smile, at first, and then, when she see that I have a female passenger in the car with me, a suspecting frown. I knew this was going to have to happen, but I was not looking forward to it. Sookie is going to have to meet Jessica.

Sookie doesn't move from the porch. Anger, not only on her face, but I can feel it coming from her. Well, here goes nothing, I tell myself. I exit the car. Not bothering to go around and open the passenger door. "Sookie, this is Jessica.", I say, pointing to Jessica, who is getting out of her side of the car. The cat who ate the canary smile that is on Jessica's face is obvious, and it takes everything within me to maintain my calm demeanor. "Jessica, Sookie.", I continue. "Jessica is going to have to stay with me for awhile.".

"How long is awhile?", Sookie asks, through gritted teeth. The look she is giving me is deadly. Sookie has one hell of a temper and I have been on the receiving end of it more than once. Although she never has done physical damage to me, she has caused emotional damage. I flash on the night when she laid into me after telling me that she never wanted to see me again. At the time, she meant it, and I knew it. However, once her temper calms and she has a moment to think things through, she often relents and tries to get things back to "normal". Or back to what can be perceived as normal. We can never have anything that would be considered a normal relationship, despite appearances. And we both know this.

"Until she can start taking care of herself.", I finally answer.

"And. . . How long is that?", Sookie's back gets even straighter, if that were possible, and she fist start to clench.

"Usually about a year.", I say, honestly. I try to make my voice sound as nonchalant as possible.

"A YEAR!", both Sookie and Jessica say in unison, only Sookie sounding furious and Jessica sounding outraged.

Becoming a Vampire is easy, learning to be a Vampire is hard. The human body is a wondrous thing, adaptable and functional, you can twist and turn, jump and leap. Teach it anything and everything to your hearts content, but it doesn't happen over night. Teaching a newborn to be a Vampire is like teaching a baby how to talk, walk, run, etc. Trial and error, learning how to use your new Vampire speed without hurting yourself or anyone else, calming your hunger when in the presence of humans, using glamour, all of that must be taught and practiced. The process, to be honest is as hard for the teacher as it is for the newborn, especially if the newborn is not as willing a student and the teacher is not as dedicated, which I think is the situation I now find myself in.

"You didn't think you would wake up and poof, you are a fully function Vampire, did you?", I direct the question to Jessica.

"But a year? You're going to boss me around for a year? No Fucking Way!!!!", defiance was all Jessica.

"And if you think that I will stand around for a year while you "teach" her what it is to be a Vampire, going places and doing things, without me. You are sorely mistaken. I will not allow her to take my place here!!!!!", Sookie yells, her back as rigid and straight as she could possibly make it.

"First of all," I say,as calmly and gently to Sookie as I can, "What do you think I am going to do with her? I have no interest in her, sexually, and to be truthful, in any other capacity. I HAVE to do this, sweetheart," adding the endearment to lighten the energy in the room which has become very dark. "If I abandon her, there is a possibility that I could be even further punished, which means I could be taken from you, permanently. I am not doing this to hurt you, this was done to me as well as her. She is a victim, Sookie. A pawn in a war between Vampires and those humans who want to kill us," now turning my attentions to Jessica, " A war that your father placed you in and gladly sacrificed you to."

Both Sookie and Jessica were silent. "Her own father? What did he do?." Sookie says, finally breaking the silence.

"He sent me out as bait to lure Vampires to be drained. A group of Vampires caught me and threw me in a car. I could hear fighting and yelling, Screaming from my friends and then silence.", Jessica's voice is cold. Jessica then stopped talking, maybe the memories were too much for her.

Sookie, her face made even more beautiful by the sadness and concern coming from it, slowly takes my hand and says, "Do what you have to do.". She squeezes my hand and lays her head gently on my chest. I wrap my arms around her. Two tears role down her face. "Her own father.", she says, so low that only a Vampire would be able to hear it.

"You said said something about an idea.", Jessica says, almost playfully, the sadness of the room finally broken.

Sookie breaks free from my arms and stands back. Jessica looks at me with anxious eyes. Both of them are waiting for me to speak. Sookie asks. "You have an idea?. What kind of idea?", the tone in her voice is strange.

"Well, I think I can get Eric to back off, at least a little.", I answer. "Also, Jessica may be in danger. You know that Vampires tend to jump to the extreme. When other Vampires find out who her human family was, she may be in danger. And if she is in danger, then so are you.".

"What about you?". Sookie asks, her voice now filled with concern.

"I can take care of myself.".

"What sort of danger am I in?", Jessica asks looking, for the first time, scared.

"I don't honestly know. Maybe none. Maybe more danger than I can handle. I need to get us all of clear of this and I think I know how to do it.", my mind spinning in a thousand different directions.

Sookie, who up until now, has been acting calmly, finally breaks, "More Vampire shit? I don't know if I can take anymore. . . Bill! What else can happen? Will a gang of wild Vampires try and knock down my door and drag me to Eric? And what about her?", pointing a finger at Jessica, "Huh? Where is she going to stay. Where did she sleep last night? Oh My God, was she here when we made love last night? She was, wasn't she? Oh My God!!!!! That is why you were a bit edgy last night. She was here. That means she heard everything!", anger, rage, frustration, and fear coming from her, and not only her voice. I felt Sookie. She was scared. Sookie starts down the porch steps. I follow.

"Yes, she was here. And I don't know what she heard. And yes, I didn't want to have to tell you last night with everything that went on. But, if I can get us clear of this do you think you could deal with her, just for awhile? I promise it will not be forever.", I say, trying to fight the urge to take her in my arms and lie. Telling her that everything will be fine.

"I don't know. I need to think. I'm going home.", Sookie says, pouting.

"May I call you tomorrow?", I ask.

"I guess. I just need to think. Everything is just getting so big. I mean with what happened to Layfayette and now this. It's just so huge.", her voice so tiny and shaky. "Yes you can call me. Goodnight.", she tilts her head up and I kiss her. It is a gentle but passionate kiss. She then gets into her car and leaves.

Once I see that she is clear of the driveway I turn to Jessica. "Go into the shed in the back and get the large mallet and the crow bar. We need to start working on you resting place.".

"Yuck. Manual labor.", Jessica replies, but she does what she is told.

I grab my cell phone from my pocket and dial. I get voice mail. "This is Nan Flanagan. Leave you name and a brief message and I may return your call.". I wait for the beep. "Hello, ma'am, this is Bill Compton. I need to speak with you, whenever you find it convenient. Thank you.". Just then Jessica returns with the tools. "Are you ready to break things. I know I am.", I say, as I grab the mallet and head into the house. That pantry doesn't stand a chance.

A few hours, and a half a case of Tru-Blood later and the shelves of the pantry are gone and a large rectangular hole is in the floor. Jessica takes a piece of plastic lining that I had her get from the shed and places it over the foundation ground in the floor. "I am going to have to make you a door.", I say to Jessica, as I toss the mallet on the ground. The sun starts to exert it's pull, I feel. "But all of that will have to wait until tomorrow. Go upstairs and shower and change.", I tell her.

"Well you better fix it up nicer than that. I will sleep there tonight but that's it. . . ", Jessica's voice trails off and her diatribe fades as she heads for the bathroom. I check my cell phone as I have done several time this evening and see that there is a message, finally, from Nan. I check my voice mail.

"Hello Bill. As it is I will be in your area tomorrow night. I will stop by. I shall see you then.", the message is short and to the point. Everything you would expect from Nan. It was Nan and Nan alone who made the decision for Vampires to go public. The prevailing theory that was fed to the human press was that after a long drawn out debate there was a concesis to "come out of the coffin". In truth, Nan decided that we were going to make ourselves public and while many Vampire did debate the issue, they knew the discussion was futile. What Nan wants, Nan gets.

"And I want some human blood. This Tru-Blood shit is disgusting.", Jessica complains as she returns from her shower, freshly dressed in some of her new clothes.

"In you go.", I tell her, ignoring her completely. "We will work on the rest tomorrow. I think I can get your trapped door installed without having to hire someone.". I say.

"Whatever.", her voice very low and sluggish. The pull of the sun is draining her of energy.

I repeat the same action I did the night before in securing her and make certain that no sun can get in. I want to run to Sookie's and kiss her goodnight, and although I know I still have time, I control my urge. She wants her space. She will have it. I go to my resting place and secure myself. Tomorrow everything will change. I know it.

CHAPTER SIX:

I wake before sunset. I didn't have a peaceful rest. My mind raced all day and it is still racing. Everything is going to change. No matter what the out come of Nan's visit tonight, my life and the lives of Sookie and Jessica will change. I just don't know if it will be for the better. I try to change my thoughts onto other things like the trap door for Jessica's "resting" place. I was a fairly handy carpenter in my human life and I know I will be able to create the door from the excess wood from last nights demolition. I just am not sure about how to disguise the door. Should I place a rug like on mine or should I meld the door with the floorboards and make it completely camouflaged? What if Nan decides to reject my idea. No, No. . . none of that thinking. Remain positive. The pull from the setting sun is almost complete. Nan didn't say what time she will be coming. If I have any chance of getting Jessica's resting place finished, Vampire speed and Vampire determination will both have to be lightening fast tonight. Good thing I ordered those extra cases of Tru-Blood.

I move at a pace that even surprises myself. Measure twice, cut once, my father taught me. And I repeat the action several times while finishing the door for Jessica. I put her to work as well. While my home is usually tidy, I have Jessica sweep and vacuum the living room and polish all of the wood furniture in the living room and den. The final screw goes into the floor and I call, "Jessica, come here.". The young Vampire comes into the kitchen, grumbling.

"I am done. Let's check if its a good enough fit.", I say as I gesture for her to get in. She makes a face, but complies. Jessica lays down and I close the door. A perfect fit, if I do say so myself.

"Well?", Jessica's voice come up from the door. I open the door. "I do kinda like the blanket you put down. Retro.", she says and I am surprised by the comment. Not exactly a compliment, but close.

"I found it in the attic some time ago. Must have belonged to one of my descendants, circa 1960"s.", I say about the ty-dyed blanket I put down on the foundation floor.

As I have done several time this evening, I check my watch. Just barely past 10:30. I had called Sookie earlier and asked if she could come by after work tonight. I was pleasantly surprised when she said, "Of course.", and she had a happy ring to her voice. Sleep can do wonders, and I do forget that by nature Sookie is a daytime person. Keeping my hours must have one hell of a bad effect on her equilibrium. Sookie told me that she was getting off around 11:00 and would be by after she went home and showered. Although I didn't tell her of Nan's visit, I think she senses that something is going to happen tonight, and Sookie always wants to look her best when having any kind of Vampire dealing. It's like her own suit of armor.

I begin to clean up the debris from the kitchen, when Jessica enters and says something clear out of the blue, "Do you think that now I can have sex?".

I am so flabbergasted that I can't even form a thought. "What?", is the only thing I could think of to say.

"Well, now that I am a Vampire, do you think I will be able to have sex?", this conversation is just getting weirder.

"You have never had sex before?", I ask.

"Well, duh! My father is. . . was. . . is, oh whatever, a bit of a tyrannical prick. Never letting me out on a date. Never letting me have any fun. And the only time I was allowed to go any place with a boy, was church socials, with my father as a chaperon.", believe it or not I think that this may be Jessica's was of trying to bond.

"Uh, Eric didn't, uh let you have sex while you were with him?", what am I saying?

"I didn't even really try. I was so hungry all the time, and all those humans smelled so good with all that blood. You know, sex didn't even enter my mind, until now. Not that I want to have sex with you. Gross. You are kinda my father. And to be honest you are kinda old looking.", the words just flow from her mouth like a faucet.

"I suppose that if you find someone that you want to have sex with you can. But we have to curb your feeding habits. I know that you don't like Tru-Blood, and to be honest, I am not all that fond of it myself, but you can't just feed off anyone you like. First of all you'd probably kill them now with you're hunger up, and second, you haven't really learned how to glamour yet, have you?", knowing the answer to my question.

"Not really. I just don't see the point. If you are hungry, you feed. Humans should be honored that we feed on them.", That statement, I know, comes directly from Eric. I heard him make the same argument at one of the debates before we came "out".

I begin to say something when I hear the front door opening and I feel Sookie enter my home. I say to Jessica, "We will finish this conversation later.", and walk briskly, all be it at human speed, to the entry hall and am stunned, once again, into complete silence at Sookie's appearance. She is absolutely beautiful. She is wearing a simple short sleeved blue dress with yellow flowers. Her shoes are her favorite white opened toed pumps. Her hair is pulled back, similar to the way it was the first night I called on her at her home, with a small clip. Her make up is subtle. The look on my face is all the reassurance she needs. "Do I look alright?", she asks, completely confident in my reaction.

"You look wonderful.", I say and kiss her, passionately.

"I got the impression, from your phone call, that I needed to look nice tonight.", she says after I finally release her from our kiss, to breath.

"You could not have done a better job.", I cannot take my eyes off of her. If tonight weren't so important I would take her right there. I takes ever bit of self control that I have to not take her upstairs and ravage her.

"Oh, hello, Jessica.", Sookie says, which pulls me back into the moment. "How are you?", the question is flat.

"Fine.", Jessica says, equally flat.

I wonder if it is a good idea to have both of them here, in the same room, when I hear a car pull into my driveway. I go to the door and see a black stretch limo coming to a stop and a tall handsome man coming out of the drivers side.

"Up stairs. Both of you.", I put enough urgency and authority in my voice to make any argument either of them may have, mute. The both run upstairs, Jessica reaching the top first. Sookie gives a long sigh and heads into the bedroom. Jessica follows her. I turn my attention back the the limo and see the arm of Nan Flanagan stretching our and the driver taking her hand. I turn my head back into the house and hear my bedroom door closing. I turn back and there is Nan, standing in front of me.

"Hello Bill.", Nan says, and glides by me into my home. "Good to see you.", she turns around to look at the room. "Interesting decor. Early remodel?".

"Well I have been busy and I hav. . .", I begin to say.

"Yes, yes. I know you have been a busy boy. By the way, I must thank you for getting rid of Longshadow.", Nan says interrupting me. I don't protest.

"Excuse me?", I asks, bewildered at her statement.

"Killing Longshadow. He may have been a thief, but he was still loyal to Eric. With him gone I have been able to place one of my people close to Eric. He doesn't know of course.", Nan's voice is cool and level. She never reveals a thing.

"One of your peo. . . Chow.", I realize.

"Very good. By the way, Bill, Phillip. Phillip, Bill.", she says indicating the young man stand quietly at the door. I nod my head, he nods in return. The man is human.

"Now, what is it that you want from me?", Nan is not one to stand on ceremony. "If I was to guess, I would say it has something to do with my dear "boy".

"Yes, ma'am.", I reply. "Actually it has more to do with my human, Sookie.", Sookie hates the term "my human", but she IS mine. Just like I am hers.

"Oh, the telepath. Yes, Eric Is quite fascinated with her. Plotting away, trying to find some way of removing her from you. Without killing you, of course." She walks into the living room and sits down on the couch. "I, of course, need to meet her. Call her for me.".

"Sookie, can you please come down here?", I yell upstairs. I hear a chuckle from Nan.

"You asked her? Interesting.".

Sookie descends the stairs and sees Phillip. She looks at me,questioningly, I simply nod and indicate for her to come to the living room. Her normally bouncy walk is slow and determined. Just as Sookie enters the living room Nan rises.

"Nan, this is Sookie. Sookie, Nan.", I say.

"It is nice to meet you.", Sookie says, and does not extend a hand like she did when she first met Pam. I told Sookie later that Vampires keep their hands to themselves as a courtesy. Part of Vampire tradition and custom. Sookie said that she thought that was dumb.

"And it is a pleasure to finally meet you, Miss Stakehouse.", Nan says, extending her hand. Sookie takes it before I can stop her. Nan, quickly pulls Sookie to her and draws in a deep breath. I am standing at the ready, fangs extended, but all Nan does is smell her. Sookie, probably stunned, allows this without complaint. After a few minutes and several deep breaths, Nan stares deeply into Sookie's eyes, "Miss Stakehouse. Tell me what you think of our Bill." She is trying to glamour Sookie. I start to tell Nan that Sookie can not be glamoured, but Sookie interrupts. "Why?". Nan releases Sookie. "Delightful to meet you, Miss Stakehouse. You can go", and Nan turns back to the couch and sits down.

Sookie looks as confused as I feel. "What?", is all she says.

"You Can Go.", Nan repeats to Sookie. I incline my head to Sookie to indicate that I am fine and she should go. She turns on her heals, still looking confused, and heads back up stairs.

"She can not be glamoured. You must have your hands full with her. No wonder you 'asked' her to come downstairs.".

"Yes, ma'am.", I say.

"What is it, exactly, that you want from me?", Nan asks.

"I need to know if you will back me if I openly accuse Eric?", I say. With the words finally out, I cannot take them back. My life, Sookie and Jessica's lives are now in the hands of this woman.

"And you see no other option?", she asks.

"I cannot think of anything else. If I accuse him, maybe he will back off. You know what he is like. Once he gets something into his head he is like a machine. He has his sights on Sookie.", I explain.

"Oh, you don't have to tell me about him. I am his "maker". I am fully aware of what he is like. But you know, that even with my backing your claim, it still might not go your way. However, with you accusing him he will have to either explain his actions or back down. Either way, he looses something. And that I truly want to see.", she takes a long pause. " Yes, I will back you.", she finally says.

"Thank You.", I say to her, very relieved.

"Now, I must meet this newborn of yours. She will simply be a fountain of information for us.", Nan says, excitedly.

"You know about Jessica?". I ask.

"Of course, who do you think ordered her to be made Vampire? The Magister doesn't have that authority. And by the way I did not intend for you to be her maker.", Nan's tone is nonchalant.

"Then what the hell happened.", I shout, forgetting who I was talking to for a minute.

"I intended for one of my people to make her. But, then you had to go and kill Longshadow. And The Magister got all creative. I would have commuted your original sentence, just to let you know. You would have only had to have served, oh, about a year in silver. And I would have allowed visitations with your human, secretly of course.", Nan pauses as if to think, ignoring my outburst."It's been over 600 years and The Magister still thinks he is running one of his Inquisitions.", another pause, "Jessica, come down here.", Nan yells.

Without complaint, Jessica appears at the top of the stairs. "Here, young lady.", Nan points to the bottom of the stairs, and Jessica responds. "Now, my dear, you and I are going to go on a nice long walk. We have much to talk about.", Nan says to Jessica. Nan is not the only one who has to have a long talk. I have to tell Sookie what is about to happen. Nan takes Jessica out the front door and down the stairs. Phillip, who I forgot was there, follows.

Without my having to ask Sookie comes down as soon as she hears the front door close. "What in the hell was that all about?", Sookie asks.

"I told you that I had an idea, well I needed to find out if I could do it before I could start to plan anything.". I tell her.

"And what is this 'idea' you keep mentioning?", Sookie ask, I can tell her patience is getting dangerously thin. "And what in the hell was that all about? She actually smelled me.".

"She was finding out about you. Sookie, Nan is a very old and very powerful Vampire. In fact, she may be the oldest Vampire there is.", I tell her.

"She's older then Eric?", she asks, looking up at me.

I wrap my arms around Sookie and bring her into the living room. I have her sit on the couch, while I sit directly in front of her on the coffee table. "Sookie,", I say, "Nan made Eric.", I take a long pause so Sookie can start drinking in what I am about to tell her. "About 50 years ago, Area 5 was run by a much older Vampire named Cyrus. Cyrus was a corrupt and perverse Vampire that threatened all of our existence due to his actions. Nan decided that he needed to be taken out, so she issued a challenge to all Vampires that the one that could take out Cyrus would not be charged with his murder and they could claim his territory. Eric was one of the Vampires that took up the challenge. Against Nan's wishes. Eric eventually took out Cyrus, using a young girl infected with Hep D to weaken him. By Eric winning the challenge, he not only openly defied his maker, he also broke any hold she may have had over him, thus shaming Nan.".

"Okay, so he did something she didn't want him to do. So what, what does that have to do with us?", Sookie asks.

"Because what I have to do to get us free from Eric is to openly accuse him of a crime. And in order for me to do that I have to have the permission of an Elder. Nan is the best choice for that, because despite all of her outwardly appearance of civility, Nan is still Vampire. Revenge, Sookie. Nan still wants revenge against Eric for shaming her." I tell her.

"So what crime did Eric commit?", Sookie asks.

"He used you for financial gain.", I say.

"Yeah, so.", still confused, Sookie says.

"Sookie, your ability places you above humans in the eyes of Vampires. You are considered "Other". And therefore you are to be treated with respect. But most of all, Eric, as Sheriff of Area 5, should have informed the Vampire Elders Council of your existence. By keeping you a secret, it can be interpreted that he was trying to gain the upper hand against other Vampires by using your abilities.", I tell her.

"But you didn't tell then either.", Sookie says, panicking after letting in what I just told her.

"I have not used you for financial or personal gain. I have not used your ability against anyone. Nor has any Vampire been harmed by anything you have told me. When Eric called you in for help, he should have told The Council of his plan, and therefore when I killed Longshadow to protect you, my actions would have been justified. I would not have had to go to tribunal and I would not have been sentenced. Further more, Eric kept you ability a secret at tribunal, causing me to be unjustly sentenced. It could be argued that he used the tribunal to try to get rid of me so that he would have you all to himself.". I explain.

"So what are you going to excuse him of?", Sookie asks. I can tell her mind is racing,

"Fraud. Deceiving The Council. And endangering the life of an "Other". Which is you. Which means that The Council will be made aware of your ability and once that happens they may call on 'your services' again.". I say, waiting for it to sink in.

"You mean I will be at this Councils beck and call?", she asks, raising her voice.

"I am sure I can work something out with them.".

"Great. More Vampire shit.". Although she is angry, I can feel that it is less intense then I thought it would be. Anger, confusion, concern. That is what I feel. And love. I definitely feel love. "So what happens now?".

"Well, now we wait for Nan to set up a court for trial. Which will probably be tomorrow night. And then we see what happens.". I tell Sookie, truthfully.

"And we have no other options?".

"You could run.", I tell her.

"We could leave?", she asks.

"No. YOU could run. I have to stay here. I could tell them that you were tired of all the drama and that you just picked up you things and ran. They might believe it. Nan might agree with that explanation. But I could not guarantee that Eric wouldn't try to find you. And once you leave, you would no longer be mine. You would be fair game to every Vampire.", I tell her. I did for a brief moment consider this action. Sookie would be safe, I could give enough money to live on and for her to start a new life. I didn't want it, for my own selfish reasons. But now, when our future is so unsure, I think that maybe that would have been the best option.

"I am not going anywhere without you. Why can't you come?". Simple question, complicated answer.

"For one, I would have to register my whereabouts with what ever Area sheriff we end up in. Secondly, there is Jessica. If I abandon her now. . .", my voice trails off.

"You would be further punished. Yeah I know.", defeat creeps into her voice.

"Whatever happens at trial, I will make certain that you are protected. Nan knows about you. She can protect you. And keeping you from Eric is just another bonus she would enjoy.".

"She really hates him, huh.".

"Sookie, she LOVES him. Eric is her son. Her golden boy. He might have gone out on his own, but she was never that far away from him. I don't blame Eric for wanting to break from her hold. I kind of feel sorry for him.", memories of my own maker begin to flood my mind. Lorena, the hold she had over me for nearly 80 years. The seclusion from Vampire society. My own "making" was violent, much like Jessica's. I push thoughts of her out of my mind. "But I will do anything to keep you away from him. I don't want you with anyone else. Human, "Other", or Vampire. But most certainly not Eric.". My voice was harsher than I intended.

Sookie places her hands on my thighs. I look into her face. "You are mine.", I tell her. "And you are MINE!", she tells me.

CHAPTER SEVEN:

The look on Sookie's face is filled with passion, desire, and lust. Her words, "And you are mine", still resonating in my mind when I feel her hands moving up and down my thighs, caressing them. I stand, intending to take her into the bedroom, when she reaches for my belt. She unhooks it and unfastens the button to my pants. She unzips them and reaches into my pants, past my boxers and grabs my penis. I push my pants and underwear down to my feet. Sookie then takes my cock into her mouth. She drags her tongue up and down the shaft, taking it fully into her mouth and drawing it out again. She jabs at it with her tongue with short, quick motions, and then with long, slow licks. My bodies reaction is immediate and I stand as rigid as my manhood so I won't fall over. I draw in a breath, having nothing to do with actual breathing, as Sookie reaches behind me and begins to rub my ass. I am lost in her. I remove my shirt. One long drawn out motion with her mouth, and she stops. She stands and begins to take off her own dress. I push her, gently, back onto the couch and say, "NO!", my voice trembling.

I remove my shoes, sock, and the crumble ball that is my pants and boxers at my feet. I kneel in front of her, pushing her dress up to her waist and part her knees. I remove her panties and begin to return the favor. My tongue traces the outline of her pussy, flicking at her clitoris with short jabs and moving my tongue in and out of her vagina with my tongue with slow long motions. Sookie makes small noises from inside her throat. I continue the assault on her clit and her moans become more and more intense and louder. She places her hands on my head and starts running her fingers through my hair. She begins to writhe on the couch, thrusting her pelvis upwards when I move my tongue slowly over her engorged clit. I can hear and feel her blood rushing through her body, and the pulsing from her femoral artery is music to me. I remove my tongue and place two finger inside her. I move them inside her, thrusting them inside and out. Just when Sookie begins her orgasm, my fangs extend and I bite down on her thigh, her blood flowing freely into my mouth. The sweetness of her blood, mixed with her natural taste and the adrenaline coursing through her, brings me close to my own orgasm. I continue to suck. Sookie's blood is like a wondrous drug that takes me to new heights. As Sookies orgasm reaches it's own peak I remove my mouth and keep thrusting my fingers in her. I kiss her, long and slow and her breathing begins to slow.

When her breathing returns to normal I scoop her up and take her upstairs to the bedroom. I place her on the bed and remove her dress and unclasp her bra. I climb on top of her and kiss her again, moving my tongue inside her mouth. I continue my kisses, moving from her mouth to her neck and then down her throat. I draw a line, with my tongue, from her throat to her breasts and suck on her left nipple and flick it with my tongue. I move my right hand to her right breast and play with her nipple with my fingers. I move my left arm underneath her and move it under her butt. I then remove my mouth from her left breast and move over to the right. I repeat the actions with my tongue. Sookie begins to move slowly under me, try to position my erect penis into her. I stop her at every move. "Bill, please.", she begs. My penis, which I have placed just outside her vagina, slides easily into her. "OH YES!", she moans and I begin to draw myself in and out of her, slowly at first, trying to prolong the sensations that I am feeling. I continue to move against her, quickening the motions. Sookie's hands, roaming freely over my body, move to my ass and push down, pushing more of me into her. I can feel her orgasm rising in her as I begin to feel the spiral sensation of my own. I thrust harder and harder into her. As I reach my own orgasm and feel my juices rush into her, Sookie cums for a second time, digging her finger into my back and moaning loudly. Her breathing ragged and rough she drags her nails across my back, causing no damage.

As we lay together, still entangle with each other, I kiss her deeply. It is not just a kiss filled with passion and love. It is a kiss filled with possession.
"You are mine.", I tell her again. "I will not let Eric take you!". I say, with all the certainty in the world in my statement.

"I wouldn't go with him if he tried. I want to be yours.", she says and returns my kiss, with the same amount of possession. "Doesn't Eric know that?".

"He does. He just doesn't care. He knows you are special. And he prides himself on being able to get anyone he wants. Of course he uses glamour on them. I think he might not know that you can't be glamoured. He hasn't really tried to glamour you.", I say, the conversation taking a serious turn.

Sookie cuddles closer into me. "He has. I have felt him trying to get into my mind, just like I felt you that night when I asked you to glamour me. I can feel it, it just doesn't go any farther than that. It's strange", she says, "but when you tried to glamour me, I felt it stronger than when Eric or even Nan tried tonight.".

"Yes, that is strange.", I say to her. "Maybe because you opened your mind to me and you had your guard up with them. I don't know."

We lay in the bed, just holding each other and I can feel Sookie fighting against sleep. "Go to sleep.", I say.

"Silly man. You can't glamour me.", as she yawns.

"Not trying to. But you need your rest to be strong for the trial. So sleep, please.", I say, softly.

"Goodnight.", she says as she raises he head to me for a final kiss. I oblige. The kiss soft. She rolls over onto her stomach and within moments I can hear the long deep breaths of her sleep. A single bead of sweat rolls from the nape of her neck, down her back, and I follow the path it leaves with my finger.

"He will never have you.", I say to myself as I watch as Sookie sleeps.

I hear Nan and Jessica returning into the house and I slowly move from the bed and grab my robe. They are still deep in conversation when I appear at the top of the stairs. Jessica, her mood somber, is nodding her head as Nan is speaking. "And you will have to listen to Bill. Especially about glamouring. He is very goods at it. Ah, Bill. . .", her voice trailing off as she looks up at the landing. I notice that Jessica's color is pinker and more vibrant that before they left. Phillip, his complexion more ashen, comes through the door. "I was just telling your Newborn, here,", gesturing to Jessica, "that how essential it is that we at least keep up the pretence of drinking Tru-Blood. Let's be honest here, it is like being put on a diet of rice cakes after a lifetime of Prime Rib, or Jonah says.".

"Is he going to be okay?", I ask, pointing to Phillip.

"Oh, he will be fine. Jessica just needs to learn how to curb her hunger, that's all. I assume you have some human food? For Sookie?". Nan replies

"None in the house, but I can take him to her home. She lives. . . not far from here.", I say, careful not to tell them know where Sookie lives. Neither of them, or any other Vampire needs that information.

"No, that won't be necessary. You do have B-12 on hand, at least?", it was more of a statement than a question.

"Of course.", I reply and go into the big bathroom to get two of Sookie's B-12 capsules. Sookie has placed bottles of the vitamin all over my home, and even carries them in her purse. I find a bottle and take out two. Next to it is a granola bar. I chuckle at the sight of it. I knew that Sookie hid food in my home, just for a quick pick me up after making love. I have found some by our bed and even in the cabinet in the living room.

Having a human, really having a human, as a permanent companion is new to me, and I make adjustments, just like she makes adjustments for me. I realize, for the first time at that moment, that Sookie has made the bulk of the adjusting. She goes out of her way to make sure that she is available to me, while I cannot really do that. I will have to buy her something nice. Especially after the trial, if things go to plan.

I go downstairs and hand Phillip the vitamins and the granola bar. "Here you go, do you need water.", I say.

"No, sir. I know how to dry swallow.", Phillip responds, short and quick. Nan has trained him well. I wonder if he is going to be her next "Newborn". Phillip tosses his head back and swallows the pills, he then takes a bite out of the granola bar. I notice as he chews that the collar of his formally clean white shirt is now stained with the slightest of pink and I see the top of one puncture hole on his neck.

"Well, Bill.", Nan says, gaining my attention, "I have set everything up for tomorrow night. Fangtasia at 9:30. Bring the young ladies. Jessica, dress appropriate. And Bill have Sookie do the same. Tell her that it has been fascinating meeting her, and I will enjoy seeing her again, tomorrow night. Good-bye.", and with that, Nan Flanagan was out my door, down my porch, into her car, and on her way.

"She's weird." Jessica says, as she heads for the living room.

"How so?", I ask as I watch as Nans car makes it way onto the Parish road. I turn to face Jessica, who has sit on the couch, just where Sookie and I began our latest love making session.

"Well, she kept telling me how lucky I am that you are my "father", and that everything I told her about The Fellowship will make things easier for me. I guess you were right, and some of the other Vampires are not happy with who my former family was. Oh she told me to refer to them as former, boy that answers that question. Anyway, with what I told her tonight, she said that it would calm down those who are suspicious of me.", she rambled

"I am glad.", I said, when her diatribe was over. "What did she tell you about feeding? You know you almost took down Phillip.".

"He tasted so good after that Tru-Blood shit. Oh sorry, stuff,", she corrected after I raised an eyebrow to her, "And he didn't tell me to stop.".

"Did Nan glamour him for you?", I ask.

"Yeah.".

"Then he couldn't. Jessica, glamouring renders humans incapable of responding. You might have drained him dry and he would not have said a word. Moderation.", I say, but who am I to talk. If I don't watch myself I could drain Sookie dry. Not because she just tastes better than Tru-Blood, every human tastes better than that. No, because Sookie tastes better than any other human. Her blood, the richness, texture, even the smell of it, is better than any human in my 173 years of existence. It is her blood that Eric is after. I know that every Vampire that has come in contact with Sookie would trade a fang to be able to have even a sip of her. When she is in a room with other humans, the scent of her blood is masked and it is hard to distinguish it from other humans. But alone, in a room filled with Vampires, like tomorrow night, Sookie smells like a four course meal, and dessert wrapped up in a wonderfully attractive package. Liam hit the nail right on the head, "She smells Fuckin' sweet.". I have to agree.

"How am I supposed to "moderate", she uses air quotes,"when I am so hungry.", Jessica says. Thankfully, Jessica has not yet realized just how special Sookie is. Right now, all Jessica wants to do is feed. Her sense of smell, as with everything else, is still developing. She can't "smell" the uniqueness of Sookie. All she smells is blood. Given time, she will be able to distinguish blood types by smell. This, along with everything else, I will have to teach her.

"It's hard. And if you were made even two years ago, you might have gotten away with accidentally killing a human or two. But not now. We are out in the open, and every death of a human is investigated firstly to see whether a Vampire was involved. We have to be more careful.", I explain.

"Is that why you got so pissy when I tried to feed on 'her'.", Jessica says, pointing up, indicating Sookie.

"Didn't Eric teach you about 'possession'? Didn't he teach you anything?", I say, dumbfounded.

"He taught me where the good arteries are. And how to get the maximum blood from a feed. Pam taught me how to sense which humans are willing to be bitten, that's where I screwed up. The tourists in the club may have wanted to be bitten, but the weren't ready to be. At least, according to Eric.", she truly loves to ramble.

"I got so angry, because Sookie is mine. She belongs to me. No other Vampire can feed on her.", I tell her.

"Not even Nan?", her eyes widen. "I mean, she let me feed on Phillip?".

"Not even Nan.", I answer. " As for Phillip. I am sure she allowed you to feed off her human so that you wouldn't try and feed off some unsuspecting local. The Tru-Blood is not really doing it for you now, is it.", she shakes her head. "It will be hard for you. But I think you can do it. Maybe we can go to Monroe later this week and get you some donor blood.". Jessica's face lights up, and her eyes begin to dance.

"So what is going to happen tomorrow night?", Jessica asks, after a long pause.

"Tomorrow night, young lady, will be an education few "newborns", or humans get. You will see a real Vampire trial.", I say.

"So what was that thing I was drag to that night.", Jessica says, referring to the night I received her as my punishment.

"That was a tribunal. Sort of a night court thing, almost like 'The People's Court',where judgements are given quickly. Tomorrow night is a full Vampire Court. The Magister will still be sitting in judgement, but there will be other members of The Elders Council there, and they can interject during questioning and even question witnesses. I have only been to one, but it is pretty interesting. Also, it is very serious. When Nan told you to dress appropriate, she meant it. Nothing too revealing and sexy, you will have to dress very conservative. And so will Sookie. That reminds me I have to leave Sookie a note telling her about tomorrow night.", I head to the desk to grab a pad.

Just as I start to write the note out, I begin to feel the pull of the sun. I hadn't realized the time, with all that has happened. Jessica looks almost surprised. "What is that?", she asks.

"That is the sun rising in about," I look at my watch, "90 minutes. You had better get yourself tucked away.", I tell her. She disappears into the kitchen and I hear the trap door for her resting place open, then close. I hear the bolt slip into place. I continue to write on the pad as I move into the kitchen. Jessica forgot to close the pantry door, so I close it for her. "Still learning", I remind myself. I finish the note and go upstairs. Sookie is lost in sleep. I rip the page from the pad and fold it. I write Sookie's name on the fold and place it on the dresser. I go over to the bed and kiss her check. So very warm. I then go downstairs and lock myself down for the day. "Everything is going to change", I remind myself as I slip the bolt into it's slot.

CHAPTER EIGHT:

I begin to feel the pull of the sun, and it wakes me from my rest. I rested much better today then yesterday. My mind did not race and I had sweet thoughts of Sookie. I suppose that I feel optimistic about the trial. Even if things don't go completely our way tonight, this is a warning to Eric. I will do anything I can to keep her from him. I also feel dirty, sort of grungy. Then I remember, I didn't shower last night before going to rest. I look down and see that I a still in my robe from last night. Okay, first things first. I need a shower.

It still is awhile before the sun completely sets and I think of everything that I have to do before we leave for Shreveport. I hope that Sookie read my note and that she will be ready to leave soon after she arrives. I then hear it , then feel it. Sookie has just come in. I check my watch, 25 minutes until complete sunset. They are going to be a long 25 minutes. I hear the outer door of my resting place open and I hear the creaking of the floorboards above me. Sookie is on top of my door. She closes the outer door, and I feel her sit down on the carpet, hiding my trapped door. "Bill?", she says, her voice shaky.

"Yes, sweetheart.", I reply, feeling the nervousness rising in her.

"Just wanted to know that you are awake. I really missed you today. I kept thinking about you," I can hear the tears welling up in her eyes, and feel the ache in her heart. "I kept thinking that tonight will be the last time we will be together. Bill please tell me that it won't be. Tell me that you won't let Eric have me. Please!", her voice straining, fight back the tears.

"It won't be. That I can truthfully promise you. You and I will walk out of that trial together. And as long as I am here, and as long as you want me, I will do everything to keep Eric from you.", The urge to push through the door and take her in my arms is maddening.

I feel Sookie laying down on the carpet. "Okay.", her voice so small.

23 minutes later, after listening to Sookie's breathing slowly return to normal, and feeling her mood change from despair to general ennui, I tell her, "Sweetheart. You need to get up now.".

"Oh, sorry.", and she gets up and opens the outer door. She is a bit surprised by my appearance. "Didn't shower last night, huh?". Things are lighter.

"Yeah, let me do that before I wake up Jessica.", I tell her, moving past her to go up stairs. "Won't take too long.".

Once inside the shower, I move rather quickly. I wash my hair and even use a little conditioner to make it softer, Sookie likes it soft, soap up my body and rinse. I quickly blow dry my hair. Outside, in my bedroom, I think of what to wear. Nothing too casual, but not formal. A suit would be okay, but no tie. I hate ties. I grab a Armani suit from the back of my closet. It is dark blue, and wool. I pull out one of my french cut shirts and toss it on the bed. The boxers go on first, then the pants. Shirt, with platinum cuff links and then my socks and shoes. I grab the jacket and go down stairs. Sookie is sitting on the couch, kind of lounging, reading on of my books. A first edition of Northanger Abbey, by Jane Austen. "Good read.", I ask as I head to the kitchen.

Sookie, slightly startled, answers "Yeah, I guess.".

I open Jessica's trap door, heated Tru-Blood in hand and shake her. Her eyes open quickly and the same disorientation comes over her. "What, huh. . .", are her first words.

"Here you go.", I say shoving the bottle at her. She drinks quickly, almost finishing it before pulling it from her lips and making a face. "Upstairs and shower, young lady. And don't dawdle. We have a trial to get to. And remember, conservative dress.".

Jessica moves past me and I follow. Sookie, still reading says, to a passing Jessica, "Hello.", but her tone is dry. I suppose she may never really "warn" to Jessica, but at least she isn't angry. Anymore. Jessica, replies "Hello.", equally dry.

I move into the living room and sit next to Sookie. She puts down the book and leans against me. "And how was your day?", I ask. Wrapping my arms around her.

"Crappy. Car isn't working. Sam thinks it may be the starter, or maybe the distributor. I don't know. Then, Terry had an altercation with a customer, and of course everyone is still upset over Layfayette. Tara is yelling at people again. All I really wanted to do day was come over here and get in your hiddy hole and sleep the day away, with you.".

"If you had done that, we wouldn't have gotten much sleep. And since when did Sam know so much about cars?", the thought of Sam advising her on anything gets my blood up a bit.

"He is always fixing things himself at the bar, and I know he works on his truck. Must be a guy thing.", her tone much lighter.

"I don't know anything about cars. And I am a 'guy'.", I say, using air quotes.

"You are a man. Sam, my brother, Terry, even Hoyt. They are guys.", she says, almost playfully.

We sit on the couch, me holding her, in silence, when I hear the blow dryer go off. "At least she is quick in the shower.", Sookie says, "I'll give that to her.".

"At the very least.", I say, pulling her in closer. I hear a low sigh come from her.

20 minutes later, Jessica finally comes down stairs. She is dressed in a knee length peach dress, slightly form fitting, and flats. Her carrot colored hair is brushed straight down and she has on just a hint of makeup. "Well, are we going?", she says with all the attitude of an impatient teenager. "Do I look churchy enough for you?".

"You look appropriate.", I say, as I begin to rise. Just then I notice, really notice, how Sookie is dressed. Her dress is also knee length, but in light green, and not as form fitting, although a bit of cleavage is coming out from the top. She also has on flats and her hair is pulled off her face and fastened with a clip. She has curled some of the loose hairs framing her face, and her makeup is also light. "And you, my dear," bending my head to kiss her as she rises,"look wonderful.". Jessica lets out some air and taps her foot. "Okay, let's go.", I say as I scoot both of them out the door.

The drive to Shreveport is exhausting for me. Between Sookie and Jessica arguing over what music to play, I finally end the discussion by putting in a Tommy Dorsey CD which they both hate, and Jessica's constant prattle about how excited she is to be going to an actual Vampire trial, and seeing how real Vampires do things, and Sooke's constant glaring at me every time Jessica says something, I kind of wish I was encased in silver and placed in a coffin for five years. When we finally arrive at Fangtasia, Jessica quickly shuts up and Sookie looks amazed at what she see. Three black limos and four large Vampires with guns standing at the entrance. "They mean that The Council is already here.", I tell both of them.

"Holy shit.", is all Sookie can say. And I agree. Well maybe unholy shit is more like it.

I get out of the car and move around to open Sookie's door. Jessica has already gotten out of the car. "Wow", Jessica say. Sookie stays silent as I offer her my hand, I hear a gulp from her as she takes it and comes out of the car. Jessica, almost giddy with excitement, starts moving to the front door of the club. I stop her.

"Behind me young lady.", I tell her, as I pull Sookie in tight to me.

We approach to front door and one of the guards, who I recognize as one of Nan's, inclines his head and says "Good evening, Mr. Compton. . . Ladies.". I incline my head and sweep past them, keeping Sookie as close to me as possible. In the club, I am amazed at the sight that I see. The room is filled with Vampires, as expected, but there are also about six humans in the room. "Thank you, Nan.", I think to myself, and I loosen my grip on Sookie. She, however, pulls in closer to me. "Don't", she says quietly, and I pull her tightly against me again. As we move deeper into the club I notice that The Magister, Nan, and Jonah, another elder, all have an entourage with them that includes humans. Nan has two, Phillip and another man, Jonah has two, two women who appear to be twins, and The Magister has one. Rounding out the Vampires with humans is Chow, his is a pretty Korean girl. "Don't worry.", I tell Sookie, we are going to be fine.". Just then I see Eric. He doesn't look happy. The phrase "If looks could kill" comes to mind with the daggers that his eyes are throwing me.

"Ah, Bill. I see that you are here.", Nan says as she descends the stairs from the platform that is the focal point of the club, a platform that sits a rather large chair, a power chair. The chair that Eric usually sits in, but tonight he is relegated to the main floor. No chair for him. Nan sweeps past Eric without even acknowledging him and comes to meet me and Sookie, and Jessica. "We are just waiting for Omar. You know how he is. He was probably late for his own making.", Nan say, then breaks into laughter. Several of the others laugh also, although they probably didn't hear the joke. I chuckle and Sookie lets out a nervous guffaw. Jessica is not even paying attention, her eyes are on a beautiful young looking Vampire, who seems to be a part of Jonah's group.

"Deed I hear somevone mention mych name?", a heavy Russian accent comes from the entrance of the club. A medium sized, bearded man with long hair black hair enters the room. Followed by three humans and one more Vampire. All of the humans are dressed alike, in updated versions of old Russian attire, and all are women. "Vell, now vee can start, since I ham here!", his voice is as big as his attitude. This is Omar!

"Omar. Well you always know how to make an entrance.", Nan says, with a grin on her face.

"My dear, you call, I come. Vhat more you want from me, heh? Not matter that I had plans with my ladies? No, Nan say come to Shreveport, Omar come to Shreveport. And Jonah," Omar's already loud voice booming across the room, "You bring only two. You slipping, heh? But I see twins so maybe not so bad.".

"Omar,", Nan gaining his attention again, "This is Bill Compton.", she says, gesturing to me, "And this young lady is Sookie Stackhouse.", pointing to Sookie.

"Pleasure, Miss Stackhouse,", Omar says inclining his head, "Nan say nice things about you.".

"We will start now.", Nan announces, "Everyone take their seats.", and the entire room starts moving to designated seats. Myself, Sookie, Jessica, Eric and Pam are left standing.

Before he takes his seat, just to the right of Nan, Omar pulls The Magister aside and says, in a voice everyone can hear, "Thes time you get the judgement right, heh.". Eric, who has been talking with Jonah, jerks his head up and looks stunned at the statement. Omar just gives him a big smile, not a friendly one, but one filled with menace. Eric and Omar have history. He didn't approve of Eric's maneuver to become Sheriff, and has always been vocal about it. Where Nan is tight and closed mouth, Omar always lets you know what he thinks. He has existed long enough not to care what other Vampires think of him and tells you exactly what he is thinking. I suspect he was very much the same way in his human life. Rumor is that he was a cousin to Ivan The Terrible.

"I think that our humans should clear the room.", Jonah says, as his twins begin moving toward the exit.

"Not necessary, we can glamour the lot of them after.", Nan interjects. No one questions her, although Jonah does give her a questioning look. Jonah's twins return to their seats, just off the platform. A few nervous sounds from the humans, and the room finally quiets down.

"Magister, if you please, begin." Nan instructs.

"I call to order this court. Eric Northman, Sheriff of Area 5, you are here to answer charges of Fraud, Deception to The Council, and endangering the life of an "Other". How plead you?". The Magisters voice, already sounding bored, is flat and cold.

Eric steps forward. "Not guilty.", Then turns his head to me, his eyes cold and threatening. Sookie, who has not left my side, moves a little behind me.

"And who brings these charges?", The Magister says, already knowing the answer.

"I do, Bill Compton." I say, finally releasing myself from Sookie's iron grip and stepping forward.

"Who, of the Elder's, supports these charges?", once again already knowing the answer. Procedure is everything to The Magister.

"I do, Nanjette Flanagan.", Nan says, using her given birth first name. Older Vampires, at least 500 years or so change their names with the times. Younger Vampires, like myself, and I am still considered young, keep their given names until our names grow out of fashion. Eric Northman is not his given name, although, Eric might be his given first name.

"Mr. Compton, with the support of an Elder, you may now plead your case to me.", The Magister says.

I step into the middle of the room, after finally getting Sookie to sit down. "I charge that Eric Northman knowingly put my human, Sookie Stackhouse, in mortal danger when he ordered me to bring her to have her question members of his staff, concerning the theft of $60,000. I further. . . ".

"Why would he need the assistance of a human?", The Magister interrupts.

"My human is a telepath, and he wanted to use her abilities to discover who stole his money.".

"Sheriff,", The Magister says, directing his question to Eric.", Why didn't you just glamour them?". Sookie asked the same question.

"I did, Magister, but we were still unable to determine who stole the money. Not all humans react to glamour the same, as you know, and I thought that if I brought in Miss Stackhouse, she could hear the true thoughts of my staff. Nothing more.", Eric answered, his voice firm and confident.

"I further charge that by not reporting his knowledge of my humans abilities to The Council, he wished to keep her abilities to himself. I also. . .".

"But, you didn't report her either, Mr. Compton.", this time Jonah interrupts me.

"Yes, but he not use her for financial gain. He only vant her for hees own pleasure. I am correct, no?", Omar states, not even waiting for my answer.

"How do we know that?", The Magister asks.

"You could asks her. She is sitting behind him.", Nan replies.

"She has been with him this whole time, he could have easily glamoured her and made her forget any use of her talents he might have done.", Jonah say, his statement is said to the whole room, but I understand that is directed at me. "We are all aware of Mr. Compton's heightened abilities when it comes to glamouring. Lorena did exploit his his talent to her own advantage.". The mention of my maker sends a chill into my soul.

"That is correct.", Omar agrees. "Mr. Compton, you swear you not glamour your human?".

"He can swear all he likes, we still wouldn't know for sure.", The Magister states.

"Except for the fact that Miss Stackhouse, besides being telepathic, is also immune to glamour.", Nan says. I know she was just waiting to drop that bomb on The Council, and Eric. The room falls silent, all eyes now move to Sookie. Even Jessica, who has been fidgeting the whole time, just stares at her.

The Magister finally break the silence. "Is this true, Miss Stackhouse?'.

Sookie, her back rigidly straight, and her face locked in a forced smile answers, "Yes sir, your honor, sir.", her nervousness obvious to everyone in the room, except for maybe Jessica, who has resumed the twisting of her hair and the shifting in her chair.

"Come here, child.", Jonah instructs her. Sookie looks to me and I give her a smile and a nod, indicating that it is alright. She stands and walks over to Jonah, who has left his chair, just to the left of Nan's, and meets her halfway. Jonah places both hands on her face, forcing her to look straight at him. He looks deeply into her eyes and says, "Miss Stackhouse, go over and kiss Vanessa on the mouth.", the twin, who must be Vanessa, stands from her chair and starts moving towards Sookie.

"Uh, no thank you.", Sookie replies, "Not into girls, thank you.". I would laugh it this wasn't so serious. Sookie tries to break from Jonahs grip on her.

Jonah, not satisfied, looks deeper into her eyes, "Go and kiss Vanessa.", he says, loudly and forcefully. I can see the strain on his face.

Sookie, grabbing Jonah's wrist, breaks his grasp on her face and says, "Not going to happen.", and in a show of defiance that is pure Sookie Stackhouse, almost screams to the entire room, "And I would thank you not to touch me without my permission. No I can't be glamoured, I don't know why, I just can't. And no, Bill has never glamoured me, he tried once, because I asked him to, but it didn't work. And I have had others try to do it and it didn't work either. So, I can't be glamoured.", she takes a breath, but her rant is far from over. "Bill was only trying to protect me that night. Longshadow would have killed me, but Bill stopped him. Eric and Pam," her hand flailing in their direction, "just stood there as he started strangling me and then tried to feed on me.". Tears started flowing down her face, and she ran back to her chair and sat down, her face in her hands. Every ounce of strength I have I put into just standing there and not going to her to comfort her. I can't show any kind of weakness now.

"Is this true, Eric.", Jonah demands, "Your partner Longshadow was going to kill her and you did nothing?". Jonah returns to his chair, obviously a bit shaken by what Sookie did, and what she said.

"How was I to know that Longshadow was the one who stole from me? And when he attacked Miss Stackhouse, I was shocked.", Eric answered coolly.

"So shocked that you and Pam just stood and watched as Sookie was getting strangled,", I say, not being able to contain my anger any longer. "So shocked that when your staff member Ginger was screaming, you just looked on. Pam told her to be quiet and Eric told her thank you.", the final part I direct to The Magister and The Elders. "I only staked Longshadow after I saw him go for Sookie's throat. Sookie is mine, by his attempt to feed on her he broke the very core of our laws. Eric was not going to do anything, that was clear. I could not think of anything else to do.", I finish. I am surprised at my own rant.

"You did not mention this at tribunal," The Magister says,"Neither of you. Sheriff all you said was that Mr. Compton's human was valuable. You made no mention of her being an 'Other'.".

"I thought that my mentioning her as valuable would have been enough. If I had said she was "Other", with all of the other Vampires there, Sookie would have been fair game to any Vampire, once Bill was sentenced. I was only thinking of her safety.". At that statement, Sookie, who had collected herself, let's out a sarcastic grunt.

"Or, ef no other Wampire know of her, and vith Mr. Compton out of way, ve can look at it as you vanting to keep her for youself. Having both her and her talent, for you, to control.", Omar says, breaking his silence. "And before you say, Mr. Comton, yes that can be seen as fraud. He not saying to Magister about her being "Other", es fraud.".

"I have heard enough. I am ready to render my judgement.", The Magister announces. "On the charge of fraud, I find you guilty. By not mentioning the fact that Miss Stackhouse is "Other", I didn't have all the information to render a fair judgement. On the charge of deceiving The Council of Elders, I find you not guilty. You, as Sheriff were not required to register Miss Stackhouse as an "Other", immediately. I believe this incident fell well within the 60 day deadline. And on the charge of endangering the life of a "Other". Sheriff, no matter what may have transpired to get Miss Stackhouse to work for you, the moment that she came here to work as your employee, you were required to protect her. By letting Longshadow strangle and then attempt to feed on her, you violated our very tenant of respect and honor to those more than human. So I find you guilty. Your sentence is payment of $60,000 to Mr. Compton.", His judgment is more that I had hoped. I can't believe it. I pulled it off. "As for you Mr. Compton,", The Magister continues, "You also were not required to register your knowledge of Miss Stakehouse's ability for 60 days. But you should have done so the moment that your Sheriff ask for your humans assistance. And you didn't speak up at your tribunal hearing. As I recall you actually asked to be put into chains of silver, then become a maker. So I suspend my original judgment of murder, but find you guilty of fraud, and therefore sentence you to continue as your Newborns maker. This court is now over.". And with that, The Magister turns to The Elders, nods, collects his human and leaves. I immediately turn of Sookie to make certain she is alright.

"I believe that went rather well.", Nan says, after a long and awkward silence. "Now to get down to business. Sookie come here. . . Please.", the last words actually sound strained coming from her. I wonder how may centuries Nan has had to go without asking anything from anyone? Sookie rises and walks towards Nan. I am a step behind. "Now that you ability is out in the open, unfortunately, for you, we can not ignore it. So, I believe that you had some sort of arrangement with Eric, before all this mess happened?".

"Yes. I would help him anytime he asked me if he promised that if found out that any human was doing him wrong, he would turn them over to the police. Not take out Vampire judgement on them.", Sookie say, her back rigid again, but she is slightly more relaxed.

"Interesting agreement, even more interesting that he agreed to it. That is neither here nor there. You will now have the same agreement with The Council. But, before you say anything, Bill.", stopping me before I object, "We do not want to tire Miss Stackhouse too much, therefore all request for her services will go through, as Sheriff of Area 5, Eric, but you will approve or disapprove of all requests. And if there is anytime that you and Miss Stackhouse part ways, a neutral party will be assign to make the same decisions. Agreed?", Nan says turning to Jonah and Omar, not requiring, or wanting my, Sookie's or even Eric's approval.

"I tink that fair enough. Don't vant to tax our new find too much.", Omar says.

"I find that agreeable as well.", Jonah adds

"Good, now gentlemen I think it is time that you meet Jessica.", at that statement, Jessica, who had been twirling straws in between her fingers, looks up.

"Yeah?", Jessica says. "What?".

"Young lady, I would like to introduce you to two members of The Elders Council. This is Jonah and Omar. You will tell them everything you told me last night.", Nan says.

"Right now?", Jessica whines.

"Not right this moment, but yes, tonight. Bill, I will be taking Jessica for a couple of days. If that is alright with you?", Nan says, giving me a knowing smile. I didn't even have to answer, "Good. Now I can not override The Magisters ruling, as you know, so you will still be responsible for Jessica's teaching and what not, but as we all know, your socialization skills are rather wanting. I hate what Lorena did to you. I think that Jonah will be able to take care of the socializing aspect of her up bringing. He is somewhat local, living in New Orleans. Is that acceptable Jonah?", the authority in her voice is unquestioning.

"Of course.", I think that he would say, "Do I have a choice?" if he could.".

"I tink that is good, yeah. Jonah is "Party Animal", yes.", Omar says, waving his hands in the air. "You go to Jonah party, you sleep for three nights, still wake up with blood hangover.", Omar says, laughing loud and long. Jessica, for the first time this evening seems to engage, laughs.

"I party no harder that you, my friend.", Jonah adds, "But I think the commute from Orlando would be a little hard for her and of course Bill. If Lorena had just gotten him more involved. . . ", Jonah's voice trails off, talking about me as if I wasn't here. That is something Elders do very well . "But what can we do now? Jessica, would you like to come to one of my parties?".

"Oh yes. Oh please.", Jessica replies, practically jumping out of her skin.

"Well then, do what Bill tells you and then we shall see.", Jonah tell her. The look on Jessica's face is a mixture of happiness and extacy.

"Wonderful. Now if you would give me a moment with Eric, Bill and Sookie.", Nan says, sweeping her arm towards the door. Everyone, and I mean everyone, begins to leave. Pam hesitates a moment, but Nan stares her down. Pam is the last to leave the club. With in moments the club is empty, only Sookie, Eric, Nan and I remain. "Don't look so disappointed, my boy. Did you really think that I would let it go?", Nan say to Eric. I think that it is the first time tonight that she has spoken or even acknowledged him.

"So this is all some petty act of revenge? I thought you were above that sort of thing?", Eric's tone was defiant, but his voice cracked, just a bit.

"When opportunity knocks. . . ", Nan says. "And to think, if you hadn't gone and gotten Bill in trouble, just so that you could have his human," she continues, "I know what you were thinking. Bill killing Longshadow played right into your hands. You knew that at the tribunal The Magister would not listen to any argument defending a human, you were probably counting on him putting Bill in silver for 5 years.".

Sookie gasps, "He would have done that?", she whispers to me.

"Standard sentence for killing one of our own, my dear.", Nan tells her. I think Sookie forgets how well we hear. "If you hadn't done that, we wouldn't be here. You would have still had Jonah as an ally at Council, but as it is, I think his fondness for you is beginning to fade. Omar now has further ammunition against you, and you wouldn't be out $60,000. tsk, tsk.", Nan is really enjoying herself. "My poor 'little' boy, was it worth it?". Eric just grunts. He folds his arms and stands firm. "Aw, no pouting. It's very unattractive.".

"What's going to happen now?", Sookie asks, the question is directed to me, but it could have been to anyone.

"You will work for us now.", Nan says. "Your particular skills will come in quite handy for us, and of course you will be compensated, accordingly.".

"Duh, I got that.", Sookie answers, "Why does everyone think that I am some kind of idiot. What I am asking is what happens now, as in right this second. Can we go? Is there Vampire paperwork I have to fill out, or something?". I stifle a chuckle. Eric looks astonished. Nan just stares at Sookie. No one, in my memory has ever mouthed off to Nan. No one would have the guts. Leave it to a human, my human, to do what even Vampires fear. It takes Nan a moment, but the she lets out a huge laugh.

"Miss Stackhouse, you really are special, aren't you." Nan says, finally controlling her laughter." If you would give me a moment with Bill. But don't go outside please.", she turns and faces Eric." Eric, put her in your office. And no funny business.", her voice is light, but her statement to Eric is a warning. "I think we only need a few minutes. You can restrain yourself for at least that long, can't you?", the look Eric gives her is murderous, the look Nan gives to Eric is cold, dark and unquestionably Vampire. Eric, looking away, motions to Sookie, not touching her. Sookie looks at me, and I nod. She gruffs, turns on her heels and stomps out of the room, towards Eric's office.

"Thank you.", I say to Nan, after Sookie and Eric leave the room.

"I must admit, I usually find these things quite tedious, but this was bordering on fun. At least it wasn't boring. Your Sookie is quite the human. How ever do you manage to keep her in line, without glamouring her?", Nan asks.

"Who says that I do?", I tell her, honestly. "I meant 'Thank you" for having so many humans in the room. I was dreading that.".

"I was only thinking of our newest assets safety. And I didn't want a riot on my hands. Did you not think I knew that if Sookie was the only human in the room, her blood would have sent everyone into a frenzy? Omar, most certainly would have attempted to kill you. You know his sense of smell is as developed as your ability to glamour. As it is, I think he may have gotten a whiff of her. But not a good enough one to send him into blood lust. How do you not kill her? It must be maddening for you?".

"I have had my moments.", I say, more than I can say. Not to Nan, and especially not to Sookie. Each time I feed off her it is a struggle, but one I am willing to endure to have her.

"Well, we will wait until everyone has left before bringing her out. I do need your help glamouring the other humans. Phillip, you can leave. He needs to remember tonight. I have plans for him. But the others, just give them a nice memory of a party here, or something.", Nan tells me, not even bothering to ask if I would do it. For her to ask me means that I have the option to refuse, which I know that I don't. "You didn't think I was going to let you out of this unscathed.", she adds. Nan knows how much I hate glamouring. "That's one of the reasons I put Eric in charge of gather the requests for Sookie's service. Both of you have been 'bad little boys' and both of you need to be punished.".

I follow Nan outside, where eight humans are waiting to be glamoured. I defiantly won't come out of this unscathed.

By the time I finish glamouring the last human, Nan had me do all eight, and they leave with their masters, Jessica going with Jonah, it is nearly one o'clock in the morning. Nan and I return inside the club. Pam is quick to follow. Eric has brought Sookie from his office. The expression on his face, which was anger and rage, has moved on to mear frustration. "Does she give you the silent treatment when you are alone?". Eric asks me, but speaking to the air.

"No.", I answer. "She is usually very vocal. Did you say anything to make her angry?". This is fun, and I can see the small upturn of Sookie's mouth. She is having fun too.

"We walked into my office and she yelled, 'Happy?' and hasn't said a word since. She sat down in my chair and turned her back on me.", Eric says.

"And to think you can't glamour me into talking to you.", Sookie tells him, sticking her tongue out at him at the end. I almost think she is going to give him a raspberry, but she doesn't. "NOW, can we go?". I can feel the exhaustion in her.

"In a moment. First, Eric you will gather all the requests for Sookie's service and then send them to Bill. And for doing this, you will receive one percent. Bill, you and Sookie can make arrangements on how to divide the rest of the money. And Eric, before they leave tonight. Pay him.", Nan says, referring to the $60,000 judgement of The Magister. "Bill,", she says to me, "I was serious about not tiring Sookie out. A burned out telepath is no good to us. So choose the requests wisely.", Nan says turning her back to leave. She stops short and turns back around. "Oh and Eric, DO NOT even think about retaliating against Bill, or you will loose more than money!", with that statement, Nan Flanagan walks out of the door of Fangtasia, gets into her limo and departs, leaving myself, Sookie, Eric and Pam in the club.

We all stand and watch as her limo disappears into the night. I turn to Sookie, take her by the arm and lead her to my car, put her in the passenger side, climb into the drivers side and drive off, leaving Eric and Pam to themselves. Probably giving Eric more time to plot.

CHAPTER NINE:

The drive back to Bon Temps is quiet. Sookie keeps nodding off. Once I get onto the Parish road that leads back to both of our homes, Sookie finally speaks. "So, what was all that talk about how well you glamour? What, are you the king of glamouring?", her sarcasm is masking her nervousness. While we talk about her ability, and her uniqueness quite often, we never speak about what I am capable of.

"Let's just say I am better then most at it.", I say, trying to avoid any further discussion. I was hoping to never have this conversation with her.

"Come on Bill, you know almost everything about me. I know very little about you.", she says.

"You know allot about me.", I tell her, "Much more that most people have. I just don't like talking about this particular aspect of my life. Okay.", I say hoping that the firmness in my voice will end any further questions she wants to ask. And for the rest of the ride home, she is quiet. I turn into the drive that leads to my home. "You know, we have the rest of the night together.", I say, hoping I keep the eagerness from my voice. To be honest, watching Sookie stand up to both Eric and Nan was a turn on.

"And what do you have in mind?", she replies.

"I have allot on my mind. Quiet frankly, I have what I would like to do to you on my mind.".

"To me, or for me?", she says, I am confused. "I mean, do you just want me to be a body or do you want me to be with you?", I am even more confused. "Spill Mr. Compton, "she pauses. "The glamour thing. Tell me, or you are getting nowhere near this.", she moves her hand down the length of her body, stopping at between her legs.

I draw in a breath, out of frustration. "Fine.", I pause. "I glamoured a young woman, then she died.".

"She died because you glamoured her?", Sookie asks, her voice shaky.

"Not exactly.", I pause again. I cannot believe that I am going to tell her this. "You asked me once if I could levitate, change form, turn invisible.", recalling our conversation on the walk we had on what I consider our first official date. Sookie nods her head. "I told you that I couldn't do any of those things, and I can't. Just like humans, some Vampires can do things others can't. And sometimes we can do things better that other Vampires. I have a talent for glamouring. Which is why I was amazed that I cannot glamour you.".

"So what makes you different?", Sookie asks. "Just how good are you?".

"Glamouring takes lots of concentration, and for most Vampires it can be draining. It uses allot of the energy we get from the blood. Most Vampires have to feed shortly after a glamour. If it is a quick glamour, to say get a desired answer, that's not a problem. But for more intense glamours, like what I had to do tonight, actually implanting memories, that is what is draining. For me, it doesn't tax me at all and I don't have to feed after.". I shift my position to face her. "Because of this, I did something I knew I shouldn't have and the girl died because of it.".

Sookie, staring directly at me asks, "What happened?".

"My maker and I were looking for blood companions. Humans that we would keep around for blood.".

"Okay, when was this?", she interrupts.

"In the 1920's.". I tell her.

"But you hadn't "come out of the coffin" yet. How could you get humans to. . . Oh the glamour thing. Now I get it. Sorry, keep going.", she looks more intensely at me.

"Anyway,", I continue, "Lorena, my maker, didn't like to associate with other Vampire all that often, but we would if we needed to, before we would set up house in a new city. We found a nest of Vampires in Milwaukee and stayed with them for a short while. The leader of the nest had a young human girl who he kept as his. Lorena didn't like the leader, but kept her opinion to herself while we stayed with them. She became obsessed with the girl, and her hatred for her master made her obsession worse. On the night that we were going to leave, Lorena fed on the girl. She fed deep, almost killing her. In a panic she told me to glamour the girl, making her think that it was one of the other Vampires in the nest who fed on her. I didn't want to, but used her power over me, she was my maker afterall and I eventually did what she wanted me to do. I thought with my talent for glamour I could just get it done and that would be the end of it.", the memory of that young girls face enters my head. Her look of fear and confusion, then of blank acceptance makes me stop. "But another Vampire had witnessed what had happened to the girl.

"And what, she killed herself?", Sookie asks, after a very long pause from me.

"No, she accused one of the other nest members of feeding on her and the leader brought him up for tribunal. He was found not guilty when the Vampire who had witnessed Lorena feed, finally came forward and testified. He said that he was afraid of what would happen, because Lorena was so much older that even the leader. Lorena was brought to trial and I had to testify to my part, glamouring her. Lorena was found guilty and had her fangs removed, standard sentence. I was found not responsible for my actions, because my maker made me do it. The trial court also formally released me from Lorena, setting me free from her influence.", recalling that night when I was no longer tied to Lorena brings a small grin to my lips. "But the leader thought of the girl as damaged goods, and instead of releasing her from him, he killed her. So you see that if I hadn't glamoured her, she would have directly accused Lorena and she might have lived.".

"But he might have killed her anyway, you said he thought she was damaged good.", Sookie says, I know trying to make me feel less guilty

"Sookie, I invaded her mind. I gave her thoughts and memories that weren't hers. That was why he thought she was damaged.", I tell her.

"Why didn't Lorena glamour her?", Sookie asks, after taking in my story.

"She wasn't very good at it. It was something she actually found annoying. She preferred to killing over glamour.", telling Sookie about Lorena was something I thought I would never do.

"You said that you don't feel comfortable about glamouring, is that why.", she asks.

"Yes.", is all I can say. "I vowed to avoid glamouring when I could. I would still do it if I had no other option, but only as a last resort. And up until tonight, I haven't.

"Nan made you glamour all those people tonight, huh.", her says, making more of a statement than asking a question. I don't answer, because I know I don't have to. "That bitch.", I can feel her anger rising a bit in her.

"Well that bitch saved us allot of trouble, so don't go hating her too much. If it wasn't for her, things could have gotten ugly tonight.", I tell her.

"What do you mean?", she asks.

"It was Nan who told all of them to bring humans. Sookie, no human had ever witnessed what you did tonight. If a human had to testify, they would be brought in, testify, and then quickly taken away. Then, they would be quickly glamoured. But, tonight, Nan had the humans stay.", I tell her. "If there were no other humans in the room with you, just Vampires, one of them may have gone after you.".

"Why?", she asks.

"Your blood.", I tell her.

"But wouldn't they have gone for any human then?".

"Sookie,", drawing her closer to me, looking so deeply into her eyes I almost loose myself, "I have told you before how special you are. But I have never told you why.".

"I know why. My 'talent'.", she puffs out.

"Your talent makes you different, but your blood makes you special. Sookie, there is something in your blood that can be smelt. A richness that is so intoxicating that if you were not surrounded by other humans, one of the other Vampires would have attacked you.". I tell her, trying very hard not to attack her myself. "I knew it the first night we met. After you saved me from being drained. I could smell you after the Rattray's left. That's why I asked, 'What are you?'."

"My talent makes my blood different?", she asks softly, tilting her head and raising her hand to my face to stroke it.

"Maybe. All I know is that I knew you were more than human that first night. I knew that I had to have you.", I tell her, unable to keep myself from being completely honest. She deserves the truth. "When you get excited or angry you blood smells even sweeter. I can smell it right now.".

"And what do you smell?", she asks, still stroking my face. The softness of her voice and touch, mixed with the rushing and the smell of her blood make me loose myself and draw her to me. I kiss her, forcefully. Urging her mouth open with my tongue. She uses her tongue too. Running in back and forth over my own tongue and over my teeth, and eventually my fangs. I maneuver her onto my lap and run my hands up and down her body. I grab for the door handle, fumbling at first. I finally get my door open and instead of going around the car to open her door I simply lift her out with me as I get out of my side. I carry her up the stair of my home and get to the door, still holding and kissing her. Sookie takes the key from me and opens the door.

I carry her into the house, up the stairs, still kissing her. Sookie is making soft, urgent noises with her throat, and her tongue is delving deeper into my mouth and faster over my fangs. When we finally get into the bedroom I am already hard. I don't bother with even placing her on the floor to undress her. I drop her on the bed. Sookie pulls her dress over her head and removes her panties. I take off my coat, and unbutton my shirt. Sookie is almost completely naked, except for her bra, when she starts working on my belt and the button of my slacks. I kick off my shoes and allow my pants and boxers drop to my ankles, then I kick them off too.

Sookie pushes herself further up the bed and turns herself around. I grab her hips. She is so wet that I enter her easily, sliding myself in, thrusting my hips with just a small amount of force. She gasps. She rises off the bed, onto her hands and knees, forcing me deeper inside of her. I keep thrusting against her and I undo her bra, then I reach one hand around her and begin rubbing her pussy as I move, thrusting in and out of her. She cums quickly. "Oh god, yes!", she gasps, breathlessly. "Don't stop!". I couldn't if I wanted to.

I pull myself out and turn her around so that she faces me. I take her left leg and lift it up so that is on my shoulder. I enter her again. This time I move slower, but with the same amount of force of each thrust. Deeper and deeper I thrust, each time moving just a bit quicker. Sookie moans, and she lifts her head off the bed so I can kiss her, pushing her tongue between my fangs. I begin to feel the tightening of her vagina against my penis again as the noises she is making become deeper and more intense. My own orgasm is beginning to build. I pull away from her lips and position myself to bite, just under her right arm. "No. Bite my neck.", she says, in between moans. I have not bitten her neck since the first time we made love. I lean my body completely on her and feel my dick slide deeper into her. Sookie wraps her arms completely around me. I can feel small bits of flesh breaking as she drives her nails deeply into my back. "Now, do it now", she almost screams. I thrust my fangs into her neck and suck. The rush of blood into my mouth coupled with Sookie's orgasm makes my own orgasm strong and powerful, as I continue thrusting against her. I drink from her as my own juices flow into her. I pull my mouth from her neck and continue to thrust until I am completely spent.

I lay there, still on top of her for awhile. I can feel the pull of the sun beginning. I slowly pull myself out of her, hearing a faint gasp from her. "It's almost time.", I whisper in her ear, moving my tongue slowly around and then in to it.

"Then you better stop that.", she says softly, her breath hot against my ear. Her voice is faint and sluggish. I feel the exhaustion coming from her. She is not only physically tired, but I can feel the emotional weight that she has been carrying around with her lift slightly and allow her to relax slightly. That relaxation allows for her tiredness to rear it head. "And Nan did say that she doesn't want a tired telepath.", she yawns. "Don't worry. I am fine. Go. I couldn't handle you getting all burned again.", she leans forward and I kiss her, this time long, and slow.

As I pull on my robe and prepare t go down stairs, Sookie asks, "Bill, why did you do all this?".

"What do you mean?", I ask her.

"The trial, standing up to Eric. You know, everything?".

"For love. I did it because I love you.", the words that I had yet to say to her flow out of my mouth as easily as her blood flows into it.

Sookie jumps out of bed, still naked and with sweat still making her body glisten, walks over to me and kisses me again. "And I love you too.", she tells me. I didn't need to hear it. I knew she did, I could feel her, feel her love. It is still wonderful to hear, though.

I head downstairs to get into my "hiddey hole", as Sookie calls it, and think to myself," Everything that I have done, since the moment I met her, has been for love. I risked my life, risked hers, just to love her. I do not regret one moment of our time together. I know that I would do it all again, if I had to. All For Love!"
