I believe a vampire is chosen by its maker for abilities it senses that would make them suitable for an undead companion. I also believe the maker has a hold or bond over his/her companion that compels them to be called to their maker when needed or desired.
What is your general opinion of vampires? I think it is brave to come "out of the coffin" at the risk of great discrimination. I would hope we really will be able to coexist.
